I can only imagine how much easier it would be to juggle projects with the multitasking capabilities it offers! I've been curious about how collaborative AIs can enhance creativity and productivity in my own work-especially with the potential for AI to tailor solutions to specific business needs.
Hi Amal, yes, you can switch to PM from any field. Try to build a Portfolio of projects and Product notes you created for these projects. Focus on UX+Business+Tech in these portfolios. Also, try writing a Press release document for your product (like amazon's press method) Go as deep as possible, It'll give you an idea of what to expect in this role. but AI PM might need some experience in PM beforehand. Hope that helps!
Hi Bro - I was working as a project management control services associate in a company since i was from degree background, is there any way that i can switch to AI product manager? if Yes, Please make a video on it
Absolutely ! Working on this soon. :) In the meantime, just to give you a context, I started off as a developer for around 6 years experimenting with multiple Dev streams (Junior dev, Senior dev, UX , Devops), before actually entering Product Management. I'm. not saying you also need to spend 10 years to get there, but it definitely helps if build your knowledge up across the 3 areas of Development, UX and Business to become a great Product manager. :) I'll explain in detail in a longer video. hope this helps.
@umeshtiwari800 , thanks for commenting! Like Lokesh has also replied, Data science is like a starting point to understanding what AI really is. If you want to be any role in AI (AI PM, Ai Dev, AI Analyst) you need to undestand core concepts of Machine learning, Deep learning etc. Beyond that if you want to become a Product management, you need a high level understanding of Software Dev, UI/UX, Devops etc. to lead a team to build a tech product. Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot for reaching out :) I'm not looking for a video editor at the moment, but can you drop a mail at srinathwarriertech@gmail.com for the future?
Definetly. I have a AI PM road map video planned soon :) also, Do subscribe to my newsletter at srinathwarrier.com where I plan to go into more details about the Azure certification journey.
Yes for sure. But before going into the AI part of it, it's better to focus on the Tech PM part. You'll need to get your basics clear first. Understand what it takes to build a high value Tech product which is great at Usability, Feasibility and viability
Hey, AI Engg to AI PM is definitely possible. Honestly with the speed at which technology is moving, Senior PMs and Product leadership need as much help as possible in understanding AI , and if they get an AI Engg to join their team as a PM, it can help them visualize possible AI solutions. The best thing to do would be to setup a 1-1 with a senior PM in your exisitng company. If you can get a fellowship, that'll be the best way to transition. Also, you'll have to learn core PM concepts and focus on the Customer pain points, not just the tool or language or LLM. hope that helps!
@nature-ez2fz , Thanks for the comment :) So first of all, you should really ask youself why you want to go into PM at all, because to be a good Software PM, you need to be good at multiple skillsets like understanding how Tech solutions are built, UI/UX of well designed apps, people management, Leadership amongst others. Any above all, are you building something which really matters to you and to your audience? If you think this is what you want to do, then I plan to do a detailed video on Roadmap to becoming a PM. Hope that'll help.
Hello. Great job in explaining everything. I have 3 questions: 1. Free certification course: it seems the course is not free ( Andrew one) 2. Can u recommend me free courses for getting basics of ai and ml right? 3. Plz connect with me if u can explain me all about azure certification and how to prepare for it.
I have same 6 years of experience as software developer. I am planning to move into product management. I liked what you’re pursuing with coursera for professional certification. Can you please help me know how is your experience with it? How much did it charge you as I see there are 3 courses in the bundle
Hi Ayush, I did complete the coursera course. While i can't comment on the pricing as my company gave me the course for free, I can help you with the content . If you're new to AI , definitely go for it. it gives you a complete overview, and the assignments will help you get your hands dirty and in the game. The only problem is, the AI world is changing so rapidly, you'll still need to work on a lot of fresh new concepts after that as well , like agents, newer LLM models, langchain etc. But in general, coursera is still considered a good option amongst interviewers , so it'll give you the credibility for sure. Hope this helps!
I'm working on this video :) In the meantime, Do feel free to subscribe at srinathwarrier.com to stay updated with my newsletter on this topic as well.
