With two ports down, the A&E department is struggling to stay on top of the influx of patients. A 30-year-old man is brought into the emergency room after being involved in a dangerous motorcycle accident. Doctors are worried the patient has sustained spinal injuries. Meanwhile, a diabetic patient is suffering from severe abdominal pain.
The doors of the Barnsley A&E department are open every hour of the day. The reality series allows for a peek inside the hearts and minds of the medical emergency teams, and how they deal with critical situations revolving around people's lives and illnesses. The close-knit team exchanges typical Yorkshire banter and humor to aid them with getting through their often long and tough days.

One would think Liam would take his meds so he doesn’t get this sick….

unfortunately some people think they don't need their medication/ believe that it doesn't help or that they can skip a dose a few times until its too late and they get put in a dangerous situation with their health

I broke my right humerus in 2014. It was extremely painful even after plates, pins and screws were inserted ! I feel sorry for Dean !.

I’ve watched this one before, I still believe this is my all time favorite. Though I KNOW our Drs, surgeons, nurses etc are so very important..This video here puts the icing on the cake! We desperately need all who work in the hospitals, these people are amazing and so very kind ❤ I will say, I have medical problems myself and I pray all the time hopefully so not to have to go back in, but our teams here in my town are not as kind as I see everyone here…they treat their patients so kind and with respect! Why can’t all be as kind and respectful as this group of people here?! I just pray something in them change as we don’t want to be there. I give one hospital kudos in Indy…Community North, they are amazing, my home town ..NOT, it’s like they are tired of their job some even act as they don’t want to be there. Anyway, I’m obviously venting…it’s just frustrating when I see how all should care like these people do. Unfortunately I can’t move to another country..lol
Thanks to all hospital care workers!

Used to wet a piece of gauze and give to the patient to suck on and keep in their mouth, wets the mouth without swallowing water.

A wet washcloth also works well. More wet surface to move around the mouth and lay across the lips.

There are risks associated with heavy sedation as well, maybe leave it up to the doctors to know what is best!

My Sister had pain in her chest and she had to wait 40 minutes for the ambulance came. All bc of the Nurses Strike. This still is disgusting. I know they don’t get paid enough, but they should not have people to wait when it’s a serious issue,
