- It is nurse Jade's final shift in Barnsley Hospital's casualty department and auxiliary nurse Mike is determined to give her a good send-off. In pediatrics, registrar Dr. Nick Mani is seeing a nine-month-old boy who has a very high temperature, while physiotherapist Jovan helps a 90-year-old woman who banged her head in the hospital restaurant.
The doors of the Barnsley A&E department are open every hour of the day. The reality series allows for a peek inside the hearts and minds of the medical emergency teams, and how they deal with critical situations revolving around people's lives and illnesses. The close-knit team exchanges typical Yorkshire banter and humor to aid them with getting through their often long and tough days.

I just love A and E shows. I lived in England and their emergency services are amazing. God bless all of NHS.🙏❤️🇬🇧
The lady that's 90 yrs of age. Sure doesn't look the age. And her mind is still alert. I'm just amazed.
Perfect thank you for everything thank you homophone for you
I live in the US but I'm am originally from Ireland. As a result I watch a lot of British telly and one thing I've noticed is that Europeans tend to live older and have better mobility and mental alertness.... I'm not sure of its lifestyle differences or what but its pretty amazing.
I want her beauty secrets!
Beautiful skin, adorable lady 😊
I live with my 94 y.o. Mom at home….she still lives to get her own groceries. She’s still mobile without a walker or wheelchair. She’s still independent at her age.
The close captions make it just as enjoyable as the show 😅😅😅
I think all elderly, and disabled, should have a "magic button". I have a speaker box in my front room and a wrist band with a button. If I push the button someone comes on the speaker to see if I'm alright, if I don't answer they call my cellphone, if I don't answer that they send the paramedics. The paramedics get here in a hurry, less than 5 minutes. The company I use also gives "fall buttons" that detect a fall without the push of a button, they go through the same process as with the wristband. It's less than $25 a month, and there are companies all over the world that have a "magic button" system.
Very common here in Scotland, too. Mind you, we've patients who forget they have it or are too unwell to press.
We really needed one for my grandpa but he was deaf so even if they tried calling or talking to him he would not hear them. it was so frustrating because he had so many falls at home but refused to live in a care home
I love to watch the care these patients get. Great teamwork for sure.
Heroes every single of these health care professionals! Cheers Barnsley Hospital!
This was fun
27:00 👏👏👏 his mom is so proud
All fantastic health professionals.❤️
I love this show. Thanks for posting it. These people are so delightful.
I know how the gentleman feels .I also have copd, and when I flare up,I try to take care at home until I don't have any choice but to go to the er.
😢 Me too… I go into denial I think….
Just watching this episode gives me anxiety
I’ve had several aunt and uncles die of COPD and they all had it through smoking in their lives. Did you get it because you were a smoker?
Our Canadian equivalent of the a&e is as busy. The staff tries to make one feel better, even if you've legs that hurt due to fall.
My uncle worked in a brick factory, back in the days before breathing apparatus. Heart stopped dead in the middle of a table tennis match.
My sister-in-law was a brick. Her watch stopped dead toward the end of a game of Yahtzee!
It's no difficult to see that that lovely young man is smitten with the nurse who is moving on to her next job. We should all be so lucky to have a sweet admirer! 😊
I thought that too!!
We should all be lucky to not have one and go around our lives without people like you thinking unwanted attention is some kind of flattery and blessing.
Me too. Who knows maybe she’ll move back to that hospital as a single woman and they’ll bump into each other again.
As a Rn in the USA, I can handle anything, but buggers I don't know why, but I am not okay with buggers. I have had my hands in this man's heart doing it was awesome, and he made a full recovery.
We all have something, don't we. I'm funny with eye injuries, so I booked a few shifts in ophthalmology.
Love that Jack Skellington tat on her at 10:00
28:48 that is the test Trump brags about getting a high score, he calls it an IQ test!😂
That's funny
@@charliefrazier1203 Funny, because it is true.
The 90 year old woman is fantastic. I would love to be her,I’m 68 and have so many issues and my mind. She is blessed. Seems people pass out quit abit there
I have spinal stenosis and it hurts,my heart goes out to that poor lady! Know you aren’t alone.
Damn if they would keep a 90 year old for 24 hours for observation in the US.

Spiders in your ears?? *scarred for life*
Me too!
You realize that the kid couldn't have understand that, do you? Btw babies aren't scared of spiders or whatever animal unless somebody teaches them to be.
Best TV show
The nurse didn't take the signed card... Or maybe I was distracted when they gave it to her...
Why can't the emergency rooms in America be like this one?!
Are they not? I work in one in Scotland and it's literally exactly like this one. The only thing that differs are the uniforms. 😂
I think I need some physiotherapy, doctor.
Lol i thought the same thing. I’d like to be seen by him as well :)
This must have been aired before covid.
