Don't be afraid about being judged for diabetes. It's so common now days that no body will care. The only problem is.... some doors will be closed to you when you reach adult hood. I found out the hard way. Example: Uniform careers are out of the options for you. That mean, no signing on regular, cannot join Police, SCDF, ICA whatever not. Other than that, it's really not that bad. Diabetic since 13 years old. Diabetic and proud.

Out of curiosity, are there any concerns with Venetia pursuing Nursing? She shared that her symptoms are triggered by positional changes such as bending down and standing up. Are there any accommodations made at work? Any memo from her main physician to advise what activities she should avoid at work? My assumption is that bedside nursing ie. in the wards may require tasks that involve positional changes, like transferring patients, emptying urine catheter bag hooked below the patient's bed, monitoring markings on chest drain, retrieving things etc. How is Venetia navigating these? Please don't get me wrong. I believe NUS ran medical checks for prospective students and reached the decision that she is a suitable candidate. Just curious how she's managing her nursing duties with her condition.

Why is she not using Flash glucose monitoring? She really does not need to prick her finger before every meal. Just use the app in the smartphone to scan the sensor worn on the back of the arm.

It's nice to see all nice comments. But the reality is, people without chronic illness or know anyone with it will still judge you. I get weird looks just by taking my daily medication, I don't know what they think of me though . It's just something we have to learn how to deal with.

Singapore is sadly going down this road where the elites connected to the PAP are treated very differently from the common people.

There is a lot the mainstream media is complicit in, such as not calling out the Government when it clearly practises double standards in enforcing the law or principles which it keeps demanding of others.
