101 years old and still got himself a full head of hair. Thank you for your service Sir and Happy Birthday to you! Thank you Jerry for sharing all these wonderful stories.
Very heartwarming seeing a 101 yr old veteran still going strong doing the things he loves, they are not nicknamed the greatest generation just for kicks. He lived through Prohibition, Model T's puttering down old gravel roads, which some had to be hand cranked before electric starters became universal, electricity and indoor plumbing was relatively new and only very well off families had those luxuries, then the great depression, the dust bowl, fought a brutal war for which we wouldn't exist today if not for all these men and women sacrificing life and limb, then raised a family with values and tough love, something that is sorely lacking today, and last but not least, a peek into the future, by riding in a Tesla Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
God bless our WWII VETS. Most people today don’t realize how close we came to losing that war early on. “We may never see their like again.” General Dwight Eisenhower
These old folks working together in their simple life and I just watched a healthy young man in the city say he never wanted to work just wanted the government to give him everything he needed.
That's a great story. Can you imagine what that man has seen in his lifetime? And at a 101 still interested in life! That's awesome. Watching this I thought, this man has probably lived in homes that didn't have electricity yet. And a hundred years later he's riding around town in an electric car! And loving every minute of it!
I bet he's been in at least a couple of homes without electricity. As a lot of homes, especially on farms and rural communities did not have electricity till the 30s, or later, some not till after wwii. And those that were fortunate to have the new fangled electric lights, were served by cloth wrapped wiring run separately on porcelain insulators secured to the framework of the home.
@@Sparky-ww5re I'll bet your right. And the wiring your talking about, I've seen a lot of it and it is just scary to look at. Knob and tube wiring, but look at the other alternatives of the day. Not a high rank, but an honorable one during an honorable time of servitude. He enlisted on March 19, 1941 at the age of 18. He was an English Teacher, a Driving Instructor, and remarried twice, his second wife (my great-grandmother) passing away in 2019 due to MRSA. I wish he made it to 100.

This was a great watch. Thank you for posting it. I miss that generation of people. They were great in so many ways. Alot of knowledge alot of everything. Happy Birthday sir. I do hope you have many more.
Ill think of Walt every May 17 because that’s the day I left home for the Army in 1968. God be with you Walt.
I'll tell him, and we appreciate that.
The best generation born in American History. Hand salute from a fellow veteran.
I think those that never made it home would be pleased to know one of them made it this far and still enjoys life.
I thank them all.
Good thought
A bunch of cool ole cats in this video 😎
My great grandfather passed away at 98 just on the 19th of September. WWII Veteran branched in the Navy, rank Seaman First Class.
Our condolences to you and your family for another hero of The Greatest Generation.
So nice that some people actually appreciate our elders. Blessings to this WHOLE family💙
It's sad that in the real world no one cares about the elderly.
If you cannot depend on family, you are in a tough spot. I would say, sir, you raised your children right. Thank you for your service and sacrifices, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. You have some gorgeous classic cars, tell your kids to get on the stick and get them running
I made up a tee shirt for Walt - which anybody can order - my-store-5962634.creator-spring.com/listing/surprising-dad-for-99th-birthd
I love the older people because you can always learn something from them and they always have cool cars where I just bought me a 57 Chrysler and it's in very good shape thank you for making these videos because that is what got me into looking for an older car thank you
Sounds like a good find, a '57 Chrysler. What is the series and body style and engine?
wonderful video brought tears to my eyes i was born on May 18th 1957 my grand daughter was born on May 19 @ 3 o'clock in the morning last year. happy 101
Thank you for your Service Walt. Happy Birthday!
I don't know you, and you don't know me, but I must thank you for your service.
Thank you, sir. 🇺🇸
This reminded me of the Dukes of Hazard. All this episode needed was some guitar licks and a banjo.Regardless, hats off to all vets that put their life on the line to give us a life in our country. Salute to you sir !!!
What a great man, and a bunch of fantastic friends and family to do these things for him. I wish my grandfather was still here, so I could drive him around, as I always wished to do as a kid. I am amazed at the condition of the cars, even after sitting for decades!
Watching this makes me think about how much America and the world has changed, and where we're all headed.
Proud '56 boomer and Navy vet here.👍
💙🇺🇸
Can't stop my eyes from crying great job great family and friends. I wish I could shake his hand. And sit with that great man and listen to all his life story's.
Thank you for this. One can only imagine what they would see if they lived over 100 years. We will all mourn the day these folks are gone. Thanks again
Yes, I agree, we will. He grew up in a family that got around in horse-drawn wagons.
From Model T's to Tesla's.
These folks lived through a time of many technological advances.
Wonderful production!
Every chance I get I thank these brave men we would not have the freedom we sometimes take for granted there aren't many left GOD bless them all my father served in the Navy he went into the water more than once lost many Shipmates he very rarely spoke of it but when he did he had a tear in his eyes GOD bless all of you living and passed
Happy Birthday Sir and Thank You for your service.
From model T to Tesla I hope this younger generation can appreciate something about this video. The most impactful for me was when he said” a lot of lives lost to be able to fly that flag.” As a veteran I salute you sir and thank you for your service and thanks to all for telling this story. Made my day.
It would be a treat to meet with these people, I’m glad to see this man surrounded by love. Every man only wishes to live like this in his age.
My word. He looks excellent for his age. I’m 70 and lost a lot of my hair. I just love that classic in the garage. Have that restored and take a joy ride every afternoon. My my
As I'm sitting here watching this, I'm thinking, "Why do all these people look so familiar?" I figured out why at the end. Happy 101st Birthday!
You are right to honor him. My parents are dead, I'm 41. Count your blessings and pass them to your forebears and children. Well done.
Many Blessings to this young fella. I loved every minute of this video because his smile was amazing. And as a Veteran I'd like to thank all those who paved the way before me. Thank you
God bless America and thanks for your service and sacrifices they we all benefit from today
Dad fought with Pattons 4th Armored in Europe and shared some of his experiences with me later in his life. A few things stick out from those talks , I remember him saying thank god he didn’t have to fight in the Pacific!
The GREATEST generation ! God bless 🇺🇸 Thank You Sir for your Service 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great old boy what a survivor I like his old cars a hell of a lot more than the Electric thing.

I SALUTE THIS OLD VETERAN, HE IS NOT MUCH AT 100 BUT HE WAS PART OF THE GENERATION OF WHEN MEN WERE MEN. I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST OF LUCK AND HAPPINESS THAT LIFE HAS TO OFFER. HE DESERVES IT.
Great story!!!!
IDK what it was but he sounded 80 years younger when he said "yeah boy!" And that made my whole day
Now that was awesome! Glad he enjoyed himself! God bless him and his service!
This man is a true American hero. God bless 'em.🇺🇲
