    Hello!
I recently just graduated with my MSN in nursing informatics. Love your videos! I have 2 interviews scheduled, one as an applications analyst - epic care orders and the other as a clinical informatics lead- epic care. Both of them supporting EPIC. Of course I haven’t had any offers yet lol so I’m being hopeful but I’m curious what your opinion on the two different roles and which one you would recommend for a newbie entering the informatics world?!

Hey Dana!! That is so awesome! Both are great opportunities. I think the question boils down to, do you want to build all day long as an application analyst or collaborate, teach, design, etc as a clinical informatics lead instead. You may lose some of your learned skills becoming an application analyst. I would personally start off by being a clinical informatics lead so I can at least use my degree and build a strong foundation on my resume then pivot toward building later but of course, it's all about where do you see yourself working. Sometimes it's hard to get into the epic building world so this is a tough one. I hope some of my knowledge helps you weigh your options. I pray you the best in your ventures and thanks so much for watching!!

@@InformaticsLife I never heard back about the informatics lead position, but I got an offer for the Epic care applications analyst orders position and I accepted it! I’m extremely excited but also nervous for the change. I have the option of being completely remote so this video is super helpful!!!

The last interview I had I was confident and showed her my passion and it turned her off. Didn't get the job

Hey Jen! Sorry to hear that. Most hiring managers do look for passion and confidence so that is odd. DId your resume reflect what they were looking for? Did you include that in your discussion points? Did you have the experience they were looking for? Ultimately, don't give up and that job just wasn't for you and that's ok. You are closer to a yes.
