Hi, so I’m a nurse and I’m going for Healthcare informatics master. When it comes to job hunting, would I be a candidate for nursing informatics or does my master need to be specifically in Nursing informatics. I know you said they pretty much do the same thing with the exception of one being licensed but I’m just wondering if the specific degree matters when applying.

I am also employed as full time RN in a hospital. Would love for you to create videos about tips/resources that could be of great help for each courses under the program. I am a little overwhelmed! I can pin point in which aspect. I’m not sure if it’s because I graduated outside the US and still trying to get myself familiarized how education system works here.

Is Health informatics the same as Healthcare informatics??

I'm not really sure how I feel about this field. I interviewed for an informatics coordinator position and the job description was basically lots of Excel reports and training a dozen new providers every month or two on the computer systems/imobile phones. It was one-on-one training. This was a large hospital with residents and lots of emergency/urgent care and walk-in clinics. The team was super small too. It sounded more like an education position than a tech position. I guess I wasn't totally sure what to expect and I still don't really understand what nurse informatacists really do!

I’m currently a BSN RN looking to get back into school. I’m actually looking closely at going for my Masters in Informatics. I’m also seeing Doctorate level programs in it too. What’s your advice on someone without informatics experience, but with 5 years travel RN experience, who wants to transition to informatics?

If I have been in IT for 10 years working with data, and Healthcare like a Practical Nurse for just 1 year, will that help getting into informatics full time ?

I know I'd like to work in technology and have considered NI, but I want to be sure. With my BSN (12/23) or before I graduate, is there a way to gain experience in NI/shadow, etc?

In your opinion would you go through MSN NI or MS health informatics with SQL at Purdue Global? I’m so confused because being MSN has clout in the hospitals and can open doors to other positions if I can’t break into the informatics positions…any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
