- After almost 4 months, it's time to return to Northern Ireland from the Netherlands. I had a fun stop in Glasgow to make some final decisions. Find out why it was time to sell Barbara Bailey (my campervan) and move on to a new phase of Planet Patrick!

Hi Patrick, I've just started following you again. My wife died suddenly in December and life has quite frankly been sh1t (still is). But I'm starting to delve into things again. I note your train ticket in Amsterdam was from 6th August 2022 (my wife's birthday - and she was Dutch). You don't seem to be doing things chronologically unless I'm mistaken? Keep safe and well. Best wishes.
Hi John, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. My sincere condolences.
I did a notice a few weeks ago that I was going back to finish all of the campervan videos (I had interrupted them at some point with something more up to date). Those have all come out now.
I've filmed a lot that I've not published yet. Right now it's cities in Europe that I visited as a "digital nomad" which will get us 6 months forward into mid-2023 and we'll keep on catching it up from there. So it's now chronological again, but catching up.
Hope all is well and you’re enjoying being back in Ireland. Looking forward to the next episode!
Thank you! I'm looking at my bank of films and deciding what's coming next!
I was born in Park road, just beside that cafe. In fact, my great Uncle Malcolm stayed right above it.
Oh wow! It's a small world for sure. Lovely spot.
@@PlanetPatrick It is, Patrick. Great in the summertime besides Kelvingrove Park etc.
Hope you are doing well 😊
Very well indeed, thanks John
Any more info on your future travel plans? (no camper vans... :) )
Thanks.
The next steps start next weekend!
Hi Patrick, what was your rational behind selling the campervan?
A few reasons:
a. I saw the market starting to fall for camper vans post-pandemic and knew if I were to keep it, I'd need to keep it long term
b. This was the wrong shape/size for me - a Sprinter size would have been easier to get into towns or park closer to towns.
c. Apart from France and Germany, everywhere else has become expensive to park (in a place with facilities). Add that with diesel costs, and this is no longer an inexpensive way to travel.
