    Superb. I'm 62, out of bass playing for over 10 years. I was just invited by some workmates to jam once a week on some blues to get us all warmed up and locked in. I'll be watching this a lot and it proves that blues and my beloved slap can work together. Thank you. Oh, and harmonics? Yes please!

    Great! At last I find someone who realizes the word Beginner. The simple approach where the viewer can see the fingers and are also told what fret. It's the old Crawl, Walk, Run, system that a beginner needs. And the PDF was great also. Thank you.

    I learned the 12 bar sequence many years ago in the 1970s but it was taught differently. I learned it as 4 bars of the 1 chord, 2 bars of the 4 chord, 2 bars of the 1 chord, one bar of the 5 chord, 1 bar of the 4 chord, one bar of the 1 chord and 1 bar of the 5 chord.or, 4x1 2x4 2x1 1x5 1x4 1x1 1x5 and repeat.

  • @KirkDickinson
    @KirkDickinson 7 лет назад +1

    I have heard that called 12 bar blues with a "quick IV". The most basic 12 bar says on the I chord for 4 bars without the quick IV.

    • @DonDeering
      @DonDeering 7 лет назад +1

      I've heard it called "long" with 4 bars on the I, and "short" with 1 on the I and 1 on the IV.

    • @DEMcouver
      @DEMcouver 7 лет назад

      KirkDickinson the most basic 12 bar blues doesn't come down from the V to the IV on bar 10 and doesn't have a turnaround on bar 12. This form is used generally because it has stronger mnemonic value.

      Hi Samuel!
      I use the one built into my Zoom B1FOUR currently for practice etc. Previously I've also used the drums built into these units:
      Zoom B3
      Zoom B1
      Pandora PX4D
      Any of the above or similar are great for the job.
      Hope that helps, Samuel,
      Scott.

      @@ScottWhitley so when plugged in will it come out across the amp ? I don't use stuff like that very much

    • @ScottWhitley
      @ScottWhitley  3 года назад +1

      Yes - all the ones listed will come through your amp along with your bass (bass into input of the Zoom/Korg, then output of the Zoom/Korg into your amp).
      Also you can run any of them into headphones for quiet late night practice! :)
