@@EggheadFixers i got a zeuz k003 keyboard
@@vanessalaag9350 nice 👍👍
I did the very same step as you did. It worked well on the main keys but on the smaller rectangular ones, stuff didin't work :o
Ugh sorry to hear that:/
Thank you so much for this! It really helped me!!
Glad we could help:)
Is all keyboard like that or there some special case where you need to take off the entire motherboard?
Sometimes the motherboard is attached to the palmrest then you will have to remove the motherboard to get to the keyboard
Thanks for instructional video.
you are welcome
Thanks it was very helpful after I broke one key 😂 🤭
😅
Its still pretty troublesome to clean even after I pop it out though. Any tools?
A toothbrush works surprising well to clean out under the key.
Mine seems to have a glue that made it more difficult to remove.
Also the rubber bubble is ripped. How do I fix that?
Some people try glue with the rubber thing although there is no great solution for fixing the rubber bubble once it has ripped.
Hello. I have the same keyboard and using same method but my "W" key refuses to stay in its place. I checked but found no damage. Help :(
I take just the key cap off of another key so you can compare the two and see if something is not installed correctly.
@@EggheadFixers I tried that and still isnt working
@@nubs7383 Have any pieces of the plastic snapped off? Are the metal hooks bent?
@@EggheadFixers I think its the plastic
@@EggheadFixers the part where the two connect
Why the downvotes? Works perfectly!!!
Glad to hear it!!
So the hinge came off when I took my key off. However, I put the two pieces back together but now when I try to click the key back into place I can hear a click and it's sort of on but after a couple presses it comes right back off. Any help or is it broken?
it could not be in all the way. You can compare it with another key by just removing the key cap on the other key and see if they are different.
@@EggheadFixers Will do thank you!
Thank you very much

Helps Alot
Awesome!!
Wonderful video... Really helpful 👍
I have Acer Aspire A5151-51G ,. I have a weird problem.. both of my shift keys stopped working .. and after that rarely both of them work for 2 minutes or so. Then again doesn't work.
What might be the problem... ? I checked and replugged KB connectors .. it didn't help...
Do you think it's only the problem of particular key...
Even if we assume this as problem, how can both the shift have same problem..
Can you understand what am saying.. ?
If you like to Help me kindly give your mail Id .. it'll be really helpful
Have you tried replacing the keyboard?
Can you do this on the caps lock key? On the acer aspire A515-46
I'll pass the suggestion along
@Egghead Fixers don't answer my question but ok
@@Chickennugget6969-o7f Sorry thought you were asking for a video on the caps lock. You can do it on the caps lock but there are oftentimes metal bars under there that can be tricky. Try to peak underneath before you pull it off to see how the bar is arranged.
Alr thx also can you pls do a video because it has metal bars that would be so helpfull @Egghead Fixers
@Egghead Fixers
The keys on mine are different the little indent on the retainer are on the downside
Ya unfortunately it can vary slightly
Tempted to try to convert mine to dvorak but I'm not sure I'm that patient. I'm also interested in replacing my backlight with one of a different color, but I can't find a whole lot of info about the backlight that is used. I'd like to have it function the same way (turn on and off by pressing F8), I just want something purple (easier on the eyes at night).
Ya its a good idea but I'm not sure you can find that part easily.
@@EggheadFixers I'm tempted to just try to fit a custom one if I can't find something. I'll visit the local Micro Center and see what they have to say about it.
@@brianbecsi7482 Good idea👍😃
will it work with power key on a515-51g-52bx?
Yes it will
I removed the cap but the white piece would not release. I squeezed them together and replaced the cap. Pressed on the key, still doesn't work! Help!!
I would remove the cap from another key and compare the two to see if something is not installed correctly.
Will the replacement keys work the the model ACER Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L?
If you are ordering replacement keys then you would need to check with the seller to see if they a the correct one for your model.
@@EggheadFixers Ok Thank you
@@linkgod64yt36 You're welcome
Acer rep says they have no replacement top keys for the Aspire A515-43-R19L. I needed just the top key itself as my fingernail scratched it off over time. Upon visiting various sites that claim to have them, they first have you identify which type under clip you have. Well, the images they have don't match what's on my keyboard.
Ya even the same model computer can have more than one version of the keyboard. You can always order used ones on ebay and see if they will work. Sometimes we have to buy more than one to get one with the same kind of clip.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
I have 4 hooks in that white part cannot take out that... Please help..
You can take the key cap off another key and compare to see how it should be installed.
Hi can i ask why cant i put my key cap in?
It could be some of the plastic snapped off and now it can not click back in
Do you know they key type, for the Acer aspire 5 515 43?
Wanted to buy a replacement key hut seller is asking for AC06 key type or AC60 and i don't know which one it is
I'm not sure...Does it say it underneath the key cap?
@@EggheadFixers I'll go look
Nope, just a bunch of number like "16M2 E11" but as i said before, my pc is just a lower end model of yours. So do you know the type of key hinges it uses.
@@Codyslx The seller should be able to send you a picture of the difference between the two.
@@EggheadFixers they look nothing like the ones on my computer however i found an alternative. Im gonna buy the keys for my laptop on this website laptopkey.com/acer-aspire-5-a515-54-laptop-keyboard-keys/
The key hinges are the same as my laptop so they should fit, and i only wanna replace one key hinge for the space bar because i snapped it trying to clean underneath. Tell me what you think. All i need is the hinge as my space bar is still fuctional with one hinge but it feels loose and it affects me terribly during gaming.
Thank you. I can't put back the caps lock key. It has 2 metal things inside the key itself. Do I need to do anything woth them? The key won't jist snap on
Yes the metal bars attach to the keycap and the bottoms of them insert into metals loops on the keyboard.
my keyboard switch wont stick to my laptop anymore, like i can put it on and it works but the key itself can just fall off my laptop at any given time.
do you know how i can fix this?
What about the spacebar?
The space bar is very similar. It just usually has two retainer clips instead of one.
@@EggheadFixers Thank you!
@@HugoWiffen You're welcome!!
How to fix the spacebar HELP!!!!!
It's very similar but the spacebar usually has two retainer clips instead of one.
@@EggheadFixers Thank you for the answer. I have an aspire 5 and it took my a lot of time to not just put it in but to make it have the same travel space as before? I am afraid to do it again because I thought I broke something.
Sorry for my English and again thank you for the video and the time to answer. Have a great weekend.
@@ZZZZZZZaaaart Is it working ok?
@@EggheadFixers It seems like now yes
@@ZZZZZZZaaaart Good to hear👍
the retainer !!!! which is bottom which is top and what way should it face/ all too quick none of that was made clear to a technophobe1
The part of the retainer clip with the two plastic posts goes on the upper part and the part of the retainer clip without the posts goes on the part closer to the touchpad. You can always take the key cap off another key and compare if you are not sure which way it goes. Hope that helps
