Found what I was looking for within the first 30 seconds - How to combine/join different objects; no booleons, remesh and all that kind of stuff. Just simple ctrl + J, join all the separate parts of my mesh, creating a single mesh in one collection. Something I couldn't find after watching more than 10 other videos. So, thank you!
Thank uuu
thankyou
Same here. I already know the other way to separate in edit mode having the cursor over the object and press L to separate it.
Same here. Amazing video.
@@HeLIElI know this is 1yr ago but I'll correct for you. L is to select linked and P is what is for separating.
Saved me from so much confusion, Probably the most important channel for learning blender.
Man , this guy is just lifesaver share his tutorials as possible as you can !
You are a hero, Grantt. I have been searching the whole internet to join objects not to be seperated by "Seperate > By Loose Parts", and realized that "Boolean Modifier > Union" was my answer. Thanks a lot!
Its so frustrating when you first open a software this complex and can't do anything, then you come across a video like this and boom, suddenly a new world opens up and things start to take a whole new meaning. I know this is super dummy stuff, but for someone that is in his first day, this is perfect. Also nice voice, very soothing and easy to understand for a non-native english speaker. You are a saint. Just taking a couple of minutes to say thank you.
Thanks
I'm so relieved I could re-separate my objects. Joining them caused a lot of complications since I used multiple textures so I'm glad I could fix everything
This was so helpful! Isolating how to’s like this or enabling mirror mode or moving the rendering camera would also be great! I’m just practicing as much as I can with a little apple laptop.
Glad someone had this! I accidentally joined two things and was freaking out how to unjoin them.
Sir, thank you so much for this😊 but I have a small request that could you please make detailed video explaining the issues like intersecting faces, overlapping faces & coplanar ( coincidental ) faces and how to solve them? I find it very difficult to understand these issues, so, it would be really very helpful if you could make a video on it. Also, can you please make a detailed video on booleans which might put focus on the above mentioned issues🙏😊 btw, this video was very helpful
I second this! Was a follow up video made? Thank you for this video I was lost before
Yeah thanks for the help, others RUclipsrs don't know what I am looking for.
Thank you! I was just struggling to wrap my mind around this while learning armatures.
wwith just 30 seconds of the video and you have already solved my problem, thank you a lot you are a big one!!
Thank you so much Grant. Your explanations are so complete.
So helpful! Such a simple function of modeling that I think is too often overlooked with other tutorials. Thank you!
thanks , you are a hero we dont deserve, but the hero we needs
It's so annoying if you havent used blender for 5 months and forgot like half of the shortcuts
(joke) get a memory of a elephant
My problem also,syut.
omg youre a life saver, im starting a cosplay and i needed to 3d print some of the details and i just couldnt figure out how to separate my pieces from the rest of the object
Thanks a lot mate. Im new to blender and its really useful to have such simple videos when needed at the moment. Cheers
Thank you, ive been trying to know this for almost 2 days now. :) (subbed)
This video is amazing, this is just freaking awesome, you are best
epic dude. thanks i was stuck building something but you came to the rescue
Working on the infinite journeys 3D challenge this month (it’s my first actual 3D animation) and this is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
All I wanted was to hear that shortcut and it was 30 seconds in I love you
If joining an object with another object changes the shape of them, try looking at what you are selecting in the collection. If it has a wrench icon next to it, click it, go to modifiers, click the arrow, apply. After doing that joining objects will not ruin their shape!
FUCKING GOD
thx, the 7seconds of the video already helped me
Hii.Please make a series about video editing in blender 2.8.Please....
That is an indeed well explained....for a minute I thought you were a lecture.
Thank you so much... I never thought it’s was bad habit for not Boolean intercepted or joint objects.
I use to leave my objects as it is after joining and had no idea it’s implementations.
Thanks so much for the well explain tutorial 🙏🏽❤️💯
Thank you so much, I have been looking for this in the universe, everyone told everything but no one told it properly, I got the solution of my problem 🙏
Milan Karakaš here. I am glad to back to you and messing in Blender. :D After a while... (all my computers were digging Ethereum coins until now. So, now is time to back to Blender. Forgot many things. Your videos are always good to watch - evergreen! Thank you again.
To unjoin objects, selecting L in edit mode: priceless!
wow, you just saved me a tutorial
great idea to show exactly what youre going to do in video. Thanks
i learn something new everyday. thank you for the help
You are A Great Person Thank you for all the videos you make. I smile when I google a problem I have and your video comes up :)
Thank you so much you are a genuine life saver.
You saved my project with this tutorial, I joined a really detailed sculpt with a cube and it was screwing up the entire remesh lol
Thank you for this, I also remember watching one of your videos on animating in blender, so thanks for that too.
thanks a lot dude, been looking for this for a while
You've earned a sub for getting straight to the point I'm really thankful 😭✨
Ctrl+J
All I needed thank you
Thank you. I am a kid using blender and I was having trouble with liking it together and no videos were good or what I was looking for, but your video helped me a lot. Thank you so much!
Sorry I meant linking
The basics are important. Thanks for the video.
Thank you now i can join subject ❤❤
One big question about modeling and preparing models for rigging. When building models such as a car, person, toilets, trees, or whatever, should they be separate parts, separate parts and joined, or modeled from the beginning as a whole part? I have not found a specific answer to this question. As you often see me posting, I’m very thankful to have your channel as a guide to self-improvement.
yes it can be a complex issue which i will have to do a video on :)
Straight to the point, that's very nice!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
Thanks! The pressing L saved my life!
Amazing! Found what i needed in the first minute. Thank you for the great explanation!
thank you so much for this i love blender but gosh its it a lot to learn in classes get ten things thrown at yah then forget one that is actually relly helpfull.
thanks, a lot man I really appreciate it. I just got what I was trying to find for hours now
Hi, Grant. Please, make a small tutorial about multiple UV maps for the same object, where different textures are used for separate faces of it. I watched so many videos about that topic. Most of them are about baking textures to a single one. Some, two of three, are discussing the right topic, but, not in detail.
From my experience, I'm always getting the wrong images on the wrong faces or even empty maps, instead of a surface with multiple decals.
Thanks in advance.
Did you find out?
This is what I was looking for, thanks mate.
Very clear and short video, as I like it. Thank you !
Thanks, Just needed to know, Edit mode, P, loose parts and tab
You are a legend mate
thanks for your video it really helped me im making a spring bonnie model and i needed this vid because i needed to get the symmetry thanks😁👍
This is very helpful, thank you guys. I have subscribed to your channel 🤩
P ! Found what I wanted direct in the intro lol ty so much 30 seconds of video for hours and hours of times saved :)
Wow thank you so much!! You just showed what I was looking for in a couple seconds!
thank you bro you help me lot
You are a Life Saveerrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the way you teach
I came to solve one problem I was having, I learned how to solve several. 🤩
oh my god thank you rhis was a life saver, a *real* one
Such a comprehensive video! Thank you so much!
I watch a youtuber and he does tutorials on low poly modeling in blender. He constantly overlaps and joins objects. I thought it might be wrong or a bad practice but just wanted to be sure. He's making an open world low poly game so I wonder how unoptimized his game will be when it's all said and done. It's already on the market in early access as well.
It's fine to do that and makes little difference
ty so much, saved me a lot of time
Oh my, never have been so early to any video 😅... And I love your tutorials!! ❤️
helped me alot thanks!
Thankyou so much for this video, this is really great!
Thanks man, this is what I am looking for! 💓
awesome video i couldnt figure this out thanks
I love that you got right to the point \m/
Really amazing tutorial. Thank you so much :)
Thank you so much this helped!
my all confustion's are now cleared
U sure?
*Am stuck* Googles, randomly picks the first video.
Ahh yes, can also trust I'll understand after watching an Abbitt video.
Thanks!
you saved my life!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you very much Grant
You’re the best man
Thank you very much for this video! I learnt a lot from this :)
Nice!
You really helped me!
Thank you!
This works great but I find the process in day to day poly modelling rather cumbersome:
- Select part of mesh to separate
- Split it to a new object
- Hit tab to enter object mode
- Select the new object (the one that I just separated out)
- Move origin to geometry (for easier rotation / movement etc.)
- start working on the new object
Is there a better workflow or a way to do this in one hit? In Modo there's a menu checkbox option to automatically select a newly separated part of a mesh, so all you do is separate it with one hotkey and you are already working on your new mesh piece - it's very quick. Is there a way to do this in Blender, please?
You can just duplicate the piece of geometry in edit mode. But you still have to separate and fix origin
@@grabbitt Thanks Grant. I have to say I really like Blender and it's my preferred 3D package these days but after using Max, Maya and Modo for many years I find that Blender has a few odd workflows that, in my opinion, really ought to be streamlined for use in a commercial pipeline. The implementation of some basic operations that are used very frequently such as this one, deleting and select-through I find quite cumbersome and slow for poly modelling.
Thank you maestro, another great video.
thanks for the video! relly needed
Thanks this helped a ton!
Great tutorial.
Exactly what i needed thank you
I saved it soo I will watch it later :)
Oooh I know it p to make an object or vertix alone but I will watch it :))))))
THANK YOU SO MUCH !
you my friend are a lengend!!
Vídeo excelente, Me ajudou muito a separar algumas peças de um asset. Muito muito obrigado.
thanks mate. Great video and may I say you have a soothing voice. Another thing I am looking for is , how to do a plane cut. I know there is Bisect tool and Boolean but they are not working for me. I wanna know if there is a way to split a body into two pieces based on where a plane is .
Yeah it's not actually a simple thing
Thank you Hero.
Thanks for your effort🌹🌹🌹
Was the Boolean video he mentioned ever actually made? That information (how to add the vertices and delet al non manifold geo) is exactly what I'm looking for 😭😭Still a great video tho
thenks
a ton of help, thank you!
I was looking for your next video about boolean merging objects, but didn't found anything...
yeah, wish there was a follow up
BRO TYSM, ITS WORKS
Thank you for the great tips.
Great mid-form tutorial , and great spelling of the word 'How' in the title.
;-)
@@try1785 My comment was in reference to an unfortunate (or was it fortunate?) typo when the recent video "How to add a single vertex in Blender 2.9" was initially posted.
