I have had my 34" SC cutter for a couple years now and have had zero issues with it. I can cut extremely detailed tiny airbrush stencils and large decals or anything in between. I also use Inkscape and the plug in for SCALP.
+Ginny Newman I'm fixing to get one an wasn't sure if I was making the right choice. Since this is my personal plotter I'm hoping it's the right choice
I Have this same one with different software and i am very happy with all the T-shirts i have done for me and my friends.. I have no problems with it lagging. i cut at 6-8 grams.
i know it's been a while since you posted this. Do you mean you make iron on for the t shirts? There is someone that has a used one for sale and I'm trying to justify it.
derkdaiglerable Yeah that part can be a pain to deal with, it actually was doing that to me yesterday 3 times in a row for some odd reason..It is kind of hard to tell if it is going to do it, it seems to do it mainly when I have imported clip art to a graphic. Lettering and text it does not do it usually. Best bet for you I would say is buy a 5 yard roll of vinyl in black or white (cheapest) and try it out until you get the hang of it rather than wasting vinyl! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video i just got mine in the mail! So far im just figuring it out lol could you elaborate more on the part about the cutter stopping un the middle of the cut do to short memory on the device?
Hey, thanks a bunch for this review. I am about to pull the trigger on the 53" cutter. This gives me confidence in the purchase for sure. Any tips on who you get your rolls through? Thanks man, great review.
Glad you found it helpful, I still buy my vinyl from uscutter because they have same day shipping and can reach my location in 2 days for a flat $9.99 shipping rate! There are many others though, i've heard good things about Coastal Business and Imprintables as well!
mr.actual i have been looking at this cutter as well (faaaaaaaarrrrr cheaper than roland) but for the pen plotter function more than the cutting. have you tried that? does the cutter have to go through SCAL? i have a program for designing sewing patterns for clothing that prints to "any windows printer or plotter" and can only export a PDF file. i have corel7 as well. the idea being that plotting/pen printing on 36 or 48 inch wide paper is way more convenient than printing on letter size and taping it all together.have you tried not going through SCAL and printing direct? or could the PDF be opened in SCAL and drawn from there? UScutter tech support is sketchy unless you actually buy from them
Great video. You mentioned in the beginning of the video that you upgraded and bought a second vinyl cutter for your your. What was the brand name and kodel? How do you like it Conlan to the US cutter? Thank you.
whats up guy, thanks for the video.. just got mine and still learning the ups and downs on the machine...quick question for you.. what type of vynil do you use ?
I watched your video review of the US Cutter SC Plotter and think it would have helped me if you showed the finished piece of cut vinyl. It would have been helpful to hold your camera still while you shot your video. You speak of using a program called Inkscape because it is cheaper, but you never mentioned the price. You compared it to CorelDraw, but did not say if CorelDraw actually cuts vinyl. You mentioned that you were going to explain the pros and cons, but never mentioned anything except the price.
Thanks so much for this video. I have been looking into getting an entry level cutter and had seen so many reviews. Now I see that many may have had high dollar expectations out of this machine. I feel better about ordering and i have realistic expectations. Would you be able to pay the link for the InkScape software you use and us there a low cost heat unit you would recommend for shirts? Thanks again
Great Video! I just ordered the Laserpoint II from USCutter and was looking around for more videos on it and came across this one. Ive been using the Silhouette Cameo for a while for decals and some shirts and decided I needed something bigger. Do you have a link to some of your work?
I just bought the 25" model and am having issues with my vinyl shifting while cutting. It moves maybe 2-3mm but it is causing issues with cuts. Clamps are down, vinyl roll is tight...any ideas?
thanks for posting the video... im in the market for one of these. I heard you say it sometimes has trouble cutting large images? Im using jetpro heat transfer paper 13x19.... have you ever used this size and you think it would have an issue cutting transfer paper that size? thanks
I'm soo confused, I just got mine like this today and I have never even been around a vinyl cutter. I appreciate your help, but I think I need a lot more.
I'm curious, what do you mean by heat transfer? I'm more interested in making my own designs and selling them, maybe make a few banners every now and then. And why do you put it backwards?
Okay so I went to a pawnshop and bought the same machine, not knowing that there not like my cameo so my question is it didn’t come with a disc been on website and also called us cutter but still nothing so how do I get the software for my machine thanks
I'm wondering if that is the issue I'm having with it. Last night I was cutting and it just stopped in the middle. I've cut the same project several times before, so it should be working. Could be a connection issue with the USB cable too.
does it have the laser function? Also, if so can you print and then use the laser function? thanks for the video trying to see if this is what i want to get.
Can you cut 11x17 pieces of vinyl transfer paper into this cutter? The only thing i see in all vinyl cutter videos is rolls. Yet the specs say it does cardstock (not likely to come on a roll) so IF it does how does it feed into the cutter accurately? I see no trays or such to make that possible. Once it gets into the cutter will it know where exactly the paper is for accuracy?
Im having a major issue right now and my Uscutter isn't functioning properly, the little black box which houses the needle and slides back and forth keeps knocking into the side of the Uscutter and it is not fitted into the slots properly and will not move what do I do to get my machine functioning properly
At 6:12 minutes, you say your in SURECUTSALOT PRO. I went on USCutter's site and it says that SURECUTSALOT is only for the Mac where as I see your on a PC?? I was thinking about getting a 28" Titan3 but after seeing this video, maybe I should start out with what you have. I appreciate your honest review.
It's probably just as loud or louder. Pretty much all cutters under $1000 are going to have a stepper motor. Your Cameo does, and this definitely does. If you want something quieter look for a unit with a servo motor, but they're pricey.
"You always have to flip the image" - Keep in mind he's cutting t-shirt vinyl. That's why he flips it because he then heat presses it on a shirt which flips the image because the top is the back. Otherwise you don't have to flip for regular sticker vinyl. Good review though. I'm looking to get back into the industry and I was curious the quality of USCutter.
I just got this plotter and I am having problems with the calibration of the letters and numbers. Can someone recommend to me the best way to work this out? I have tried to calibrate the plotter multiple times.
When it come to vinyl? You get what you pay for. Garbage in= garbage out! Buy "ThermoFlex" from "Specialty Material." Use a good Heat Press. I NEVER have to redo or replace the Tees I make. NEVER!
RE: stopping halfway through ,,, install the plotter as a generic raw printer ... in inkscape save as hpgl ... send the file directly to the port .... the software that comes with the plotter is garbage ...
Hi Brandi and yes I did. I make sure my settings are the same. Also I use the cutting directions based on my vinyl supplier. 😊. #www.maddbodyboutique.com.

+Ginny Newman I'm fixing to get one an wasn't sure if I was making the right choice. Since this is my personal plotter I'm hoping it's the right choice
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
i got the same one - i've cut about 400 yards of vinyl on it (4 rolls of application tape worth) no problems! and yes, get the stand.
Thank you for uploading ive had my cutter for about a year now making signs. Getting into making shirts soon. Thank you
Great review sir. I just ordered the 36" and can't wait to get it...
For how much??
I Have this same one with different software and i am very happy with all the T-shirts i have done for me and my friends.. I have no problems with it lagging. i cut at 6-8 grams.

@@amyfreeze9772 yes you can use this to cut htv heat press vinyl..
derkdaiglerable Yeah that part can be a pain to deal with, it actually was doing that to me yesterday 3 times in a row for some odd reason..It is kind of hard to tell if it is going to do it, it seems to do it mainly when I have imported clip art to a graphic. Great demo Mr. Actual. What is the thickest vinyl can you cut with it. Appreciate you input. Best, Frank
Would sure like to see how you cut with contour cutting. Cause I sure can't get mine to.
thanks for doing that I'm thinking about getting an inexpensive machine and this opened my eyes to that option.
Nice detailed review. Thinking about getting one after I found your video.

Mine is completely undetectable. I've tried so many drivers nothing detects it. Getting ready to get the hammer out.
Lmaooo
What type of vinyl are you using? Is there a brand you recommend?

I'm curious, what do you mean by heat transfer? I'm more interested in making my own designs and selling them, maybe make a few banners every now and then. And why do you put it backwards?

what was the issue you were having with the memory? in the video you said something about it not be able to load a very big job.
I'm wondering if that is the issue I'm having with it. Last night I was cutting and it just stopped in the middle. I've cut the same project several times before, so it should be working. Could be a connection issue with the USB cable too.

Cool video. Thanks
How loud is it? I have a silhouette cameo right now and I'm hoping its a bit quieter than that...

Are u kidding?

Don't believe them! Lol

Hi Brandi and yes I did. I make sure my settings are the same. Also I use the cutting directions based on my vinyl supplier. 😊.
