This is Lesson 3 of my new simple "YODEL-VOCAL WARM UP" SERIES, a little different twist on the standard "vocal warm ups". Please let me know if you like these, and I'll do more!! Singers and yodelers need to warm up and stretch their voices before singing. Yodeling is one of the best ways to do that! Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment letting me know how you did! Now you can say "She taught me how to yodel" just like the Walmart Boy!

great lesson! I thought the way you described an octave to be quite odd because you mention that it's "basically the same note" but lower or higher or "distance between notes of the same letter" but neither of those actually describe what an octave is. Notes an octave apart will have a frequency and wavelength that is either half or double that of the other note, so the ratio is 2:1 . They are of course not the same note, they are just notes that have maximum constructive harmony when played together. You are yodeling in fifths, and fifths are the second most harmonious interval because it's the second simplest ratio of frequencies, that is 3:2. Then the 3rd most harmonious interval is fourths because it's 4:3. The entire major scale can be constructed in this way.
If you play harmonics on a guitar you will find that if you divide the string into half, thirds, and quarters you can produce an octave harmonic, a fifth harmonic and 4th harmonic respectively.
I'm sure you know all this I'm just putting it here as extra information for anyone who is interested. When you sing you produce all these notes simultaneously as overtones and undertones, and throat singers are able to alternate their harmony while maintaining a base note by controlling these overtones/undertones.
