For the record, Jaco used the neck pickup as well. However, he had it only slightly rolled off, along with a slight roll-off on the tone knob (but bridge pickup on full). Experiment a little and you'll find that this is the more accurate "Jaco" sound. Of course, you'll need Rotosounds and a fretless Jazz with its fingerboard layered over with boat epoxy. But that's another story.
That's because you need the neck pickup to be on, also. Do this: Turn both pickups full on. Then, let a string ring out and turn the neck pickup volume control down until you start hearing a little difference. Then, do the same thing with the tone control - turn it down just enough to hear a little change. You should be good to go after this.
i don't think many people except for bassists realize how insanely difficult this is to pull of this clean 😭 amazing work
thank you. An overwhelming honor!

Arigato! This is great 🙏
Arigato ! comment!
Bro almost got the bass right lmao
question, are you using flat round strings?
Thankyou comment. using normal Roundwound
Excellent, thank you, it was very helpful! (just a little correction, you make harmonics on 5th fret in the beginning, not on 7th fret)
Thanks for the advice!
It's so hard to get volume out of this technique
It took quite a while to get the sound right.

@YippeeSkippie426 thought it was the bridge pickup that was the treble control
Now I understand why it's called PINCH harmonics lmao
what the actual fuck. I thought he just had effects or something
Thanks comment!
