I remember doing this a few times as a kid. I was really good at getting through Level 1 with no damage and even making it to the very end of the game with an intact shield that you pick up in the Armada like you did. I only made it through Level 2 with no damage only one time.

First time I got the shield I thought it made me invisible. Then they started shooting at me anyway
Not even the game itself had renders for beating the game with shields intact.
I did beaten level 1 no damage an couple of times when I was an kid now I'm struggling with the level. I guess I need to get my groove back. 😂
