Have you ever wanted to learn a beautiful-sounding falseta (riff) on the guitar that has that signature Spanish or Flamenco sound? Well, in this lesson I’ll show you how to play a falseta in A minor that you’ll not only enjoy playing, but will have others captivated as they listen to you!
I like to use this falseta at the beginning of a rumba in A minor, but practically speaking, you can use this falseta for any palo (song form) in the flamenco repertoire, just so long as it’s in the key of A minor.
If you have a friend playing along with you, then this falseta will sound even more amazing if he or she is playing a series of repeating rasgueados in Am, G, F7, and E(b9) while you play the solo. Enjoy!

HI Roger! Yes there is; it might be a good fit for you too. Let’s find out together. You’ll want want to hop on a call with me. You can do that here: calendly.com/flamenco4u/experiment1et
Are you playing a flamenco guitar or classical? Because I’m not sure what the difference is besides when i hear flamenco its a lot more buzzy, lower action. And your guitar sounds a lot like my classical :)
Hi Bob-and BTW-if this is Bob Zmuda (the late Andy Kaufman’s manager), I’m a big fan!-this is a flamenco guitar with cypress; so it sounds the way it sounds. I’ve played this one for so long, I’ve perhaps lost a sense of what it really sounds like.
I remember when I got it, when I was 15, and found the action a little high for my taste, so I had it lowered; it was only then that I could get a slight buzz that I was looking for.
…The later I had my tech put a Fishman pickup placed underneath the bone, which raised the action-so I think I may have had him sand it down again.
All my guitars are relatively old-with a combined age of 80 years between them 😂.
Thanks for watching! What kind of guitar are you playing?
@@Flamenco4U Interesting, my main partner in crime is a ‘57 Silvertone 710, but I’m considering putting an under-saddle pickup in my Yamaha ‘05 CG162S but I’m a creature of habit and I mic my guitars.
And unfortunately I’m not he hahaa, but I’m right there with you, Andy was one of the greatest all-around entertainers ever born ❤️
Thank you for this video, is this part of a full song, or is it only this part?
👋 It’s part of a rumba arrangement that I’ll be steadily dripping here on YT. If you search for any of my videos on the rumba, you’ll see that they are all in Am-so the falseta in this video is a nice opener for the rumba that I’ll be unveiling in the coming weeks.
@@Flamenco4U sounds great, thank you for this effort
Amigo
Where do you use bar #3 in the beginning?
Between the 5-8 fret on E string.
On my way to get a classical guitar
There ya go! 👍 🎸
@@Flamenco4U What do you recommend?
@@jimmykirigaya7546 for Classical? ...a nice Ramírez; but there are certainly many others. Whatever feel and sounds just right for your ear. Take time with each guitar as you try each out. Keep me in the loop as you make your choice friend!
@@Flamenco4U Alright, I’ll keep you in the loop!
No taps señor ?
Most certainly. You can get them right here 👉🏼www.patreon.com/Flamenco4U👈🏼
It's a great piece but showing notes on tab or music notes would be a little helpful. Some if it is fast on the notes.
