    Does anyone else remember when they appeared on Tiny Toon Adventures as The "Roaches" They voiced singing roaches and sang a shorter version of this song. It was great!

    they opened for Leon Redbone at the Maple St Bar in New Orleans, uptown in 1977 or '78. Unforgettable. So glad to remember them again. Love to sing along with them!

    Hammond song is the best, but this is good too! They write songs like it's a conversation, real clever and down to earth. Love it.

    I never knew they were an actual group! I thought Tiny Toons made them up! I was so mad that they didnt get more episodes. Now I see why! They had whole actual careers!!

    Um, hi. Where in the universe have I been. Never heard of these wonderful singers until right now, December 19, 2013. A musician friend sent them my way. Where, oh where have I been?

      09selah I first discovered them in the 80's as guest vocalist on an album by classical composer Philip Glass on the title track of his album Songs From Liquid Days. Check that song out. Decades laters, I am far far more a fan of the Roches and of Philip Glass.

    Much love to you, Maggie. Rest in peace. You were always my favorite ~ what a fantastic songwriter. And when I met you a decade ago, I was a bit shy. But you were so sweet and kind. Thank you for everything.

    I LOVE The Roches! Saw them in concert at the (old) Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Their first album and their Christmas album are fabulous!

    I seem to remember one of their best songs is The Married Men, but it's not on RUclips. It was turned into a hit by Phoebe Snow but the original Roches version was very beautiful and haunting. Wish I could hear it again.

      i have had their record since the early eighties and later it was out on CD so you can hear so many good songs. The married man was special but they are incredibly talented songwriters. So creative.

    The Roches, not today's but in early 80's, gave us many songs of thrillings, in deed. The video seems like a VERY private one ;-P What a surprise!

    It's pretty Ropey but check out the Hammond Song cover by The Colourfield, Terry Hall fromThe Specials, band, it's not particularly good but it's nice to see someone else being a fan of these wonderful ,witty musicians.

    Why don't they say "trio"? When I saw Maggie and Suzzie they blanked out that word but why when all three of them are there? (RIP Maggie)

    • @LDK47
      @LDK47 Год назад

      All I can guess is that they weren't a full-time group any more. I think there were creative differences and that's why there was a Maggie & Suzzy album sans Terre a couple of years before this
