The true identity of Amhara people. Let it start with the name Amhara. The correct way to write the name is Amhara (አምሐራ) not Amara ( አማራ) this is done and thought by enemies of Amhara who are genocidal organizations within and outside of Amhara who want them to extinct. If you ask why? Satan know they are the remnant of the biblical Hebrew people who are mixed with Saba or Makeda's people. Saba was mentioned both in the Tanakh and Gospels. In which Messiach ( መሲሕ ) mentioned her by the title Queen of Sheba ( ንግስተ ዓዜብ ወይም የደቡብ ንግስት) ።
The Amhara are the only true Saba-Hebrew people and the language itself testify to this cause since it is very similar to the ancient Hebrew language. This people are legitimate heirs of the land of Sheba which is the area of modern-day Eritrea to Somalia. If anyone claim Amhara (አምሐራ) being Ge'ez it is simply false. Ge'ez was fabricated in order to destroy Amhara people somewhere in the time of Yodit Gudit. Ge'ez was composed of Egyptian Arabic which itself has Greeko-Roman influence in it, Ancient Amharic, and a few local dialects to mention a few. Therefore, it does not qualify to be a root language. The root language to Amharic is the language of Adam and Eve which is similar to the language of our Father Abreham and our mother Sara.
Axum was re-named after Amhara lost war with Yodit Gudit and Yodit and her team did burn all Amharic Bible and History books and started fabricating Ge'ez books. They produced fake evidence for 410 years by carving message on the stones so that, the future generations would think their fake books of Ge'ez full of fairy tales to be credible source. Sure, except that of the true bible with wrong translation that is again full of errors. I am 100% sure that Ge'ez is fabricated by enemies of Amhara. Before Ge'ez, was the good old Amharic which still exist. At the same time, Yodit and her team massacred most of the Amhara adults who were educated. Hoping that the Amhara would face identity crisis and might be lost as a people who doesn't know their origin. After about 40 years of hard work to destroy Amhara and their origin, they passed over to the Zagwe dynasty for another 370 years. A hireling with identity crisis, to start with they say Ge'ez is our language but the truth is Ge'ez never existed until the time of Yodit Gudit.
The word Axum itself has Greeko-Roman origin. So, before that the Amhara called it with another name while the Greek have their own name for the known world that differ from the local names. So it does not mean if you find Axum written in their literature the local would call it with the same name. Therefore, the Saba-Hebrew Amhara never called it with Greek name. The Amhara did survived the Greeko-Roman influence and kept their Saba-Hebrew heritage. ... It is Amhara (አምሐራ). The name Amhara ( አምሐራ) is again an ancient Hebrew which is Amharic. In modern Hebrew the name is written as AMHARETZ (አምሐረትስ). On the other hand, the name Amara has Greco-Roman origin then Adapted by Arabs, Italians, Turks, Spanish, and West Africa. It has nothing to do with the origin of Amhara people. Infact, it does obliterate our Saba-Hebrew ancestry. You might Argue, well both Amara and Amhara are correct and simply the 'h' sound is silent . Additionally, Amare or Amarech in Amharic language means beautiful, gorgeous, lovely, and pleasant. You see we have Wub (ውብ) and others too. So, we can start and finish a sentence without using Amare or Amarech. However, this exactly my point of concern, " identity crisis ". Amara is not even Arabic its origin is Greco-Roman as explained earlier. For instance, Islamic Arab Empires give the name "Amara" to their colonies. This is found online, "Amarah (العمارة Al-'Amāra), also spelled Amara, is a lur city in south-eastern Iraq, ... The city was founded in the 1860s as an Ottoman military outpost ...". But, Amhara has a minimum of 3000 years history, not Amara. Therefore, this is the result of first, Greco-Roman influence on the Arab world then on to our people.
In conclusion, "Amara" name was given by our enemies to eradicate our Saba-Hebrew origin. The correct meaning of the name Amhara is to say, the people of the one who made heaven and earth and everything in it (ሰማይና መሬትን በውስጣቸውም ያሉትን የሰራው የእርሱ ህዝብ ማለት ነው)." You see only then the meaning would mean also free people, etc ... Indeed the Amhara are the only Saba-Hebrew people.

Excellent narration, and overall, I enjoyed it! That said, the actual history lacks proper referencing and is riddled with opinions. The “Oromo expansion” and their enmity with Amhara are misrepresented to suggest Oromos were not indigenous. Until archeological or other evidence is presented, historical names (though challenging to establish with dates and written references) of various places suggest that Oromos were always here, not to mention how the map of old Abyssinia does not include much of Oromiya. Where did these Cushetic Oromos have come from? The notion that they migrated from southeastern Africa to the horn, as many claims, is inconsistent with Kush migration. I hope these convenient and politically motivated claims come to an end with DNA evidence soon, which seemed to suggest these people are, in fact, closely related.
As for the castle, it was built to fortress against the Adal state, of whom some Oromos were likely a member(Muslim Oromos can count their genealogy for many generations). I doubt these two groups were separate threats, as you stated.
    Long live Ethiopia!

Literally many ethnic groups documented Oromo migration not just amhara Somali's Harari's Gurage hadiyas you name it actually old Ethiopia map also show current Oromia regions plus there no archeological evidence for oromos before 15 16th century no one is saying Oromos should leave this is just pure fact and history people through out history migrate to other regions for many reasons not just Oromos so why should deny history for some kind false narrative you may not like history but deal with it

      @@aradat9671
You have presented no substance. Even migration within the region is most documented only for Amhara, who spread across modern Ethiopia. Such migration, outward expansive migration within the region, is likely for the Oromos; just the same way Gurages have migrated down from the north and Somalis towards Afar.
I am not Oromo. But I know the Amhara versions of events with no references or fabricated weak circumstantial pieces of evidence are hardly reliable. AS a Somali, I am not aware of the claim you have attributed to Somalis, to assert your opinion. Even if I follow your logic, you seem to acknowledge Somalis are indigenous to that part of the world. If so, their closest cousins, the Oromos, also must be indigenous. It’s mind-boggling to find fellow Ethiopians believe in their distorted, self-serving logic. Unlike many fools who claim Oromos are from Madagascar, at least you understand they aren’t going anywhere; that they are here to stay.

History is a respected profession that has its process of researching and writing historical facts by gathering from various trusted sources. History is highly susceptible to biases, but if history is written or narrated by activists or politicians, it explodes into propaganda. Each race in Ethiopia is now speeding to rewrite their respective glorified and exaggerated new or revised history. Most of the folktales of Ethiopian history were the battlefield adventure from one side, not discussing the disintegration or intermingling of people at different chronological eras but focusing on the adventure of the king and kingmakers only. However, history is not a piece of bread or peace; if this exaggeration and lies cause us to lose our peace of security and daily bread, why do we waste our time fabricating it?

The history of the Amhara people is very interesting but whether Amhara or Oromo, orthodox Christians or Muslims, they are all ETHIOPIANS and feuds of the past should be left behind. Reading the comments, I sensed bitter feelings if not animosity. This is very sad!

I hope this is all documented in Ethiopia and is well known because if it is then most of the lands in Oromo and Tigray belongs to Amhara not tryna Divide or nothing but apparently that’s history. We must act justly and accordingly that means give back what you forcefully have taken to those you have taken it from. And that goes for anybody… correcting your wrong is the way forward for anybody anywhere.

@Stained Glass Window 1: no clear link between geez and amharic. 2nd Axum used to be amhara region before it was stolen.
3rd the amhara people comes from Levant around 10.000 ago thrue yemen to mix with local people (genetic studies shows amhara to be closer to levantine people than to arabic peninsula people.)

@Stained Glass Window yes most amhara people are nowdays mixed with multiple ethnic groups because usuelly amhara people dont allow mutch importance to "ethnicity". Nowdays amhara and oromo, in urban area, are very likely same. The only "pure amhara u'll find are isolated farmer group from Highlands

@Stained Glass Window the actual ethnic map of ethiopia mislead u I think.former amhara region used to be mutch larger, specially in nothern part. This is part due to the independence of eritrea who used to be a large part of actual Tigray territory . Who took back southern territories to compensate.
Look at eritrea ethnic Map. There s lots of tigrai ethnicity

Tigray are the are the Habesha.
Amharas came to power 1889 by millike. Since then they acted like Superior. All the cultures came from tigrai and southern part of Eritrea. Amara don't even know what is gold before😂😂😂😂
Their women wear green and shave their heads tied it up. 😁😁That's their culture.
The Last Emperor that was Tigrayan his name was
Yohannes IV that was last time Ethiopia see the light.

Amharic is most definetely not a descendant of Ge‘ez. This goes hand in hand with Amhara history that says that they migrated to the country after the Agazians at a much later period and Arab scholars regarded them as Amhara (pl. form of Mahra) who migrated to Abyssinia from Southeastern Arabia. Amhara/Amhara are from the Quda‘a branch of Himyar while the Agazians were from the Ag‘az which was from the Yahdhib branch of the Himyar. The name givers of Abyssinia are the Amhara tho who descended from a Amhara/Amhara subsclan called Habash/Habashat. This clan on the other hand descended from the Rufaida branch of the Amhara/Mahra for which they were called Banu Arfida by the Arabs. Other Himyari clans settled in the region along with these too like Ma‘afir. The Arabs used Habashi interchangebly as a term for the actual Habashat tribe or broadly for all the inhabitants of the Aksum Empire on the African continent who were overwhelmingly Nilotic and Omotic. Later in history Habashi became a designation only for the latter people especially because after the Persian conquest of South Arabia Abyssinia became extremely isolated from Arabia and the only contact they had with them were the Nilotic and Omotic slaves they sold to them hence Arabs started to associate the term Habashi solely with these slaves
