25 years ago today, Norwich State Hospital was abandoned. It’s so sad to see a place like that be destroyed

Just went there last night, got the absolute shit scared out of me and some friends in the admin building.
Went there at night during the rain, so yeah it's a little windy... but we're on the ground floor as the base of the staircase leading up in the main hallway, and the second their light went up the stairs we all heard a LOUD door slam. It was clearly not the wind, because It sounded as if someone put their full body force into swinging it shut.
Scooby-Doo ran in place for a second before we more or less crawled over each other trying to sprint back to the window we came in from. (The window at the very bottom left at 1:35 , behind that railing. I've never climbed so fast in my life)

I wish I could have seen it before they knocked down most of the buildings.

I went here years ago but someone on-site boarding up a building that day. Terribly busy road and no easy parking. I never went back.

I went with a group of friends the other day it was cool to see these buildings but it was also sad in a way to just see how they're slowly crumbling away. In a way its like nature is trying to heal itself from a painful past

I wish I could do a video on our tunnels where i work. We have some creepy tunnels where I work. People have and seen things to. My job would probably fire me for doing that, our tunnels were built and buildings in the late 1800s. Our campus and old buildings are still in use today. The building where they did lobotomies is still there and there’s an ancient elevator that moves extremely slow on purpose

    • @EmpireDroneWorks

there's probably some really cool stuff down there.

@@EmpireDroneWorks oh there is. There’s a pharmacy down there a dining hall kitchen, a game area. The older part of the tunnels were built in 1800’s are creepy. There is a morgue down their. We actually have a museum filled with old artifacts stuff that was found in our attics,. When my coworker started working there in the 1980’s they were bringing out the old lobotomy tables. Security and others claim certain buildings are haunted and have seen weird sightings like elevators going up and down all day by themselves with no one in them.

The drone was ok but you did not have the right to go in. I Know I’m talking to the wind, but it disrespects the people who had to be there and makes them freaks to be leered at. Go find an old house or warehouse to urban explore.

no disrespect intended, I find all forms of abandonment interesting. These places are time capsules that need to be documented before they are lost forever.
