Nice railfanning shot of the SP Daylight, Harrison. The only loco I wasn't certain would run was the Penn Central. The motor in the SP must have been jarred loose in shipping, but of course you figured it out! 🤔 The extra shell is in case you want to change it up now and then with the Florida East Coast locomotive. Glad they are all runners. Again you didn't share the card - - yeah, I know, trains on the brain. Thanks for sharing. 👍 👍 👍
Nice! Lots of good stuff! The daylight is a PA-1 not an FA-2 btw. Don't wanna be that guy, but couldn't help the correction. PA's were for passenger service, and FA's were for freight. Both look like Toasters on steroids. Fun fact (I'm not sure if this is 100 percent true) the designer of the PA designed a toaster for houses.
Neat variety of locos you got from David Z to G Scale! The two trolleys you got, my grandfather has in his collection along with the one N gauge F7. I hope you had a really good birthday with the many cool locomotives you got!
wow your a lucky chap i love getting old stuff i spend hours fixing them and seeing them run again ive had a few fireballs but thats all part of it good rail hunting mate
I have had a lot of track and other structures for years. Picked up the SP Daylight 6009 a few years ago, but never put any of this together. Now that I have plenty of space, I have decided I would get to work. Started by cleaning up and servicing the SP locomotive, and will be buying the other cars I need for the set. Seeing this run on your channel was exciting. Can't wait to get mine working.
Man I love Tough Guys 😂. No GS 4s were harmed. It was a scale model live steamer, and a wooden mock up. The mock up was sold in November 2019 at an auction.
I have several Bluebox Athern SP Daylight PA1s that where converted to DCC. I also have three Proto 2000 SP PAs, alll of them have been super-detailed with details west parts, Like snowplows, M.U.hoses, Airhorns, and Antennas.
Very Cool, I have 2 of the Blue Box complete sets, 1SP just like yours and the other is a B&O, I bought brand new back in the Mid 80's both are great runners. Gary
AHM models were sourced from a number of companies, most commonly Mehanotehnika/RSO, Roco, and Rivarossi. In the '70s and early '80s Model Power sourced models from Roco and Mehanotehnika as well. My first train set was by Model Power. The locomotive and freight cars were made by Mehano, while the caboose was from Roco.
The unpainted (undecorated in US) is an EMD SW1. It has its sand box on front beneath the air intake grills. Only the SW1 had the sandbox placed in this arrangement. The Daylight units are PA-1 and PB-1 P=passenger, A=cab units, B=booster units, 1=series. The PA had 6-axles while the FA had 4-axles.
The streetcar pair is a representation of an early form of twin unit car, the unpowered car is a "trailer" that would have tagged along behind a normal, powered streetcar in real life. Usually, there would just be one trailer on a streetcar, though on some heavier interurban railways, it was not unknown to have more trailer cars. It's a very cute unit and I'm glad to see it runs well! Also, the Daylight set is gorgeous!
The weird part is that the southern pacific A units and B unit looks exactly the same as the ones I saw that the shop was selling for in a lot for 65 and the it was package in the Athrean blue box but it did’t come with the coaches
That Daylight set is hot. The A units are PA2s, and the B is a PB2. I have some old bluebox engines that will be 50 years old next year. Unfortunately, they have trouble running, I will try to fix them.
The switcher should be in my opinion a Penn central because all you need is the white lettering but there are many others companies it can be so can't wait to see what it is.
Hey harrison. Love the new edition. Jealous of the Florida east. And daylight. Have the steam engine one. But someone , not well by the way. Hand painted it to look like the ted white and blue logo. So need a new body. Took most paint off. But the original paint under didn't look so great. Have cpl of the rock island. Have one f40 in blue and white. Have 3 different paint scheme for rock island. Including black red and white trim. Been slacking on my engines. Been building an rc track. I Play with nitro rc's. Have 3 nitro. 1 revo 4x4 , 1 stadium truck , i tech 4 drift car, rest are battery. Fast but battery. Working on videos before and during the build of the track. My revo is to big for it almost everything else works. Have great day man... Love the new set.
I'm not getting rid of it, first of all it's trashed so it's useless to everyone else and second of all I haven't got rid of it for the first reason which is I'm attached to it.
You'll probably need to add some weight to the passenger set. Athearn passenger cars were notorious for being underweight - TOO underweight. However, putting a full interior in the cars (and IHC makes some great interiors which can be adapted for Athearn cars - I know, as I've dome it) will add enough weight to make them run a whole lot easier.
The daylight set is an ALCO PA1 PB1 PA1 setup the PA1 was none for is inefficient combustion causing excess fuel to be burned in huge plumes of exhaust smoke.
Until the Proto 2000 came out in the 90s that AHM BL2 was the only game in town for an affordable BL. Have the C&EI one stashed here somewhere. Unfortunately prices have gone way up but a lot of those less than reliable train show finds I was able unleash my inner mad scientist ( MAD,MAD? MAD THEY CALLED ME I'LL SHOW THEM ALL! BWAHAHAHAHA!!) and transplant the shell on the better running blue box F7 or GP7. BTW you said you have a lack of Rock Island engines well that undec SW1 would look really nice in the RI red and yellow Speed Letter scheme or the maroon and yellow RI scheme.
It would be awesome if you turned that Hershey’s bank to a Hershey’s factory with a big ol advertisement on it! Just add some other little building onto it
I used to have a few ahm bl2s and i had a c&nw mp15 dcc ready switcher i got at a train show in iowa the ahm's were like 5 bucks each and the mp15 was like 15 i think with some minor damage to the front plow. Lost them in a move or they got left behind at my old place. Started my collection all over again with a tyco mantua Tucson red PRR f unit and two Tucson red lifelike passenger cars and a cnw SD40-2 i got at a train show in south Carolina. No track to run them on yet and the tyco needs new traction tires.
Sweet set Happy late birthday SMT I'll give u a shout-out on my next train video I update my birthday is next month on the 4th so I'll do my video before then
HO and N scale trains. I loved Penn Central locomotive and SOO LINE boxcar Atlas and Caboose. Where is you 🐱 ?. Scooby Doo bited the tail to you 🐱. Scooby Dum barked to you 🐱. You 😼 with Scooby Doo and Scooby Dum.
It’s funny because I saw the southern pacific fa2 locomotives at a not so far away train shop were they were selling the same units with the a and b units for a good price
If they say 'MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA' they were all made by Mehano. Regardless of the box they were sold overseas in. A company still building HO trains to this day. Now in the independent country of Slovenia.
Nice bud I would like try to get a Bachmann rock island u36b no 4425 and caboose combo someday maybe at a train show or so. Btw what roadname are you going to paint this emd sw1 from ahm and rso? Also that athearn southern pacific daylight train set is beautiful! i bet david z to g scale has alot of cool stuff there.
a lot of those old n scale bachmans you need to run every so often or they will seze up also you may need to run them connected to another loco to pull them around till it warms up then they run like butter until you take them off
SMT - Just a thought - How about making a video from a HO scale railfan who is visiting Dunderville? The railfan could film all the daytime activity of different types of trains, from different railroads, that have trackage rights on the Saskatoon, Montreal, & Toronto line. Also, the railfan could film cars being picked up from the sidings. the railfan could walk over to Main Street & film the trolley cars in action.
SMT - One thing to consider would be placing your camera next to the white house, viewing the curved switch track, like you did in previous live stream videos. You could film a " meet " - switch the track for the siding & have a freight traveling counter - clockwise take the siding. Once the freight train's locomotive is out of view, you could stop the train & remove the locomotive. Then, you switch the track back for the main line & have a passenger train, traveling clockwise, roar by. Then the freight train can start moving again until it is out of the camera's view.
The Dunderville railfan's narration: " Here's the Southern Pacific Montreal Daylight with Alco PAs on the point from Ogden Utah, Sandpoint Idaho, & Moose Jaw Saskatchewan! ". " And here comes SP's Ottawa Daylight with a Baldwin Shark Nose, going back to Ogden. " " Here comes the Santa Fe's Montreal Chief from Chicago. ". " We now see a freight of empty hoppers that is returning from the Dunderville power plant.". " The mixed freight is picking up a car from the spur track.". " A work train is passing by heading to a track project down the line.". " Some more track personnel are passing by on a speeder. ". " A couple more Gandy Dancers are following on a hand car! ".
SMT - Can the flatcar-mounted camera be turned to photograph from the side? The Dunderville rail fan could ride a train from station to station & film the country going by through the passenger car's window!
Nice railfanning shot of the SP Daylight, Harrison. The only loco I wasn't certain would run was the Penn Central. That last train is awesome. Glad it works. I’ll have to watch Tough Guys now.
Thanks Mark. Tough guys is a great comedy, I recommend it.
Trust me i really like it myself as well!
11:02 -11:12 Beautiful head on shot there. Those blue box motors sure do sound nice, if a bit old.
Thanks gain David! Man, that Athearn blue-box Daylight is astonishing! I’m so jealous.
Neat variety of locos you got from David Z to G Scale! The two trolleys you got, my grandfather has in his collection along with the one N gauge F7. I hope you had a really good birthday with the many cool locomotives you got!

I remember seeing one of those SP locomotives in a train shop for $30 with kadees. Also, Great Items, The SP was amazing!
The Southern Pacific is pretty impressive! Very nice haul.

Very nice Harrison. That unpainted switcher is an SW1. This switcher is not mentioned often. Love the collection of trains here!
I can already tell that the new daylight is gonna be a frequent request during live streams.
Agreed
I really like the southern Pacific daylight set and you got the Dwayne Johnson locomotive ( the rock island locomotive)
That daylight is Beuatiful
I also have a soft spot for the bl2
Wow jeez that is a lot of trains. Happy birthday.
(13.APRIL.2020)
Thought: WHAT IF you [sort of] raced the Daylight and the Hiawatha passenger trains?
That would be fun!
The steam daylight doesn’t work
OH you lucky dog! Getting an SP Daylight A-B-A train! Congrats, run it in good health! And Happy Birthday!
AHM models were sourced from a number of companies, most commonly Mehanotehnika/RSO, Roco, and Rivarossi. In the '70s and early '80s Model Power sourced models from Roco and Mehanotehnika as well. I have a 1970 something Remington Engine that has never been cleaned, After watching your show I think I may be able to do that. Thanks

They all run so great
David is a very nice guy
The weird part is that the southern pacific A units and B unit looks exactly the same as the ones I saw that the shop was selling for in a lot for 65 and the it was package in the Athrean blue box but it did’t come with the coaches
Nice stuff SMT now you have The Santa Fe Super chief and the SP Daylight
Happy Birthday Harrison !!!!!Greetings From Argentina
Absolutely love the sp units
Smt the daylight is not a FA2 it’s a Alco PA
Yes that is an ALCO PA
@arrowguy173 Also, the PAs have a longer nose than the FAs
That would be the best B-day ever!
You should make the undecorated switcher into an SMT Mainline locomotive, just a thought
Southern Pacific, my favorite fallen flag railroad.
That Daylight set is hot. The A units are PA2s, and the B is a PB2. I have some old bluebox engines that will be 50 years old next year. Unfortunately, they have trouble running, I will try to fix them.
I have Athearn Santa Fe Pa s that old also no problems. Athearn has axle gears that break & motor mounts break & clean the steel wheels
Turn the switcher into a Hershey's chocolate paint scheme
He already has 2 hershey switchers and a full size diesel
Shane's Trains hey I followed your face book
Shane's Trains I’m Bryce gilsrud
“Yes. Better than atsf’s warbonnet.... wink wink”
What a birthday haul........very nice
Great video i moved my ho scale layout from my basement to my room
Nice, daylight train. It looks good on your track.
Thank you very much!
Happy Birthday some good Alcos their !
I can promise you one thing, and that's a smtmainline themed train set! Also I love that N scale penn central f unit.
Happy birthday my friend
I would paint the switcher like a canadiana
Great video
I had that same Florida East Coast BL-2 on my grandpas layout!
Happy Birthday!!!!!!
:)
The switcher should be in my opinion a Penn central because all you need is the white lettering but there are many others companies it can be so can't wait to see what it is.
Those blue boxes are non more than tanks. I think arguably they are the best make of locomotives at least back in the day and possibly today too!

Smt make the unpainted switcher a nerf cat switcher.
Hello Harrison! Love the channel!
If your getting rid of the daylight I would like to have it. The daylight is my favorite engine of all time
monster4Skillet he should use it for the giveway
I'm not getting rid of it, first of all it's trashed so it's useless to everyone else and second of all I haven't got rid of it for the first reason which is I'm attached to it.
Very awsome video SMT keep up the great work
The daylight is awesome
I love the mini n scale layout

Some neat stuff great video
It would be awesome if you turned that Hershey’s bank to a Hershey’s factory with a big ol advertisement on it! Just add some other little building onto it
You should make that unpainted one another Hershey one or a custom locomotive that says smt mainline line on it
I have been waiting for this 😊
It's more epic than epic can get
I used to have a few ahm bl2s and i had a c&nw mp15 dcc ready switcher i got at a train show in iowa the ahm's were like 5 bucks each and the mp15 was like 15 i think with some minor damage to the front plow. DAYLIGHTT TIME BOYS
Why don't you connect the steam southern with the diesel one and make a double header
Happy birthday smt
Man, Rock Island 0-4-0's are cool
Sweet set Happy late birthday SMT I'll give u a shout-out on my next train video I update my birthday is next month on the 4th so I'll do my video before then
Now take that go train off the siding and replace it with the daylight. Might as well. Ur gonna get run requests like crazy
ffdrge DVD ffgftv
That Rock Island locomotive would go well with the 6/7 Rock Island cars that I have instead of just running the Rock island blue GP40
The Florida eats coast engines “knocking noise” kinda sounds very similar to a diesel locomotives engine! Lol
belated happy birthday,best wishes.jpj
HO and N scale trains.
I loved Penn Central locomotive and SOO LINE boxcar Atlas and Caboose.
Where is you 🐱 ?.
Scooby Doo bited the tail to you 🐱.
Scooby Dum barked to you 🐱.
You 😼 with Scooby Doo and Scooby Dum.
I like the livery of the daylight
Hope to see the first and parody of tough guys

you should try to make another christmas layout competition and let people start on their layouts earlier!

Hi Phoenix Smith!
You could paint the AHM/RSO loco to be your logo!
Paint the Switcher in a fantasy scheme. Like Amtrak Phase III
would love that sp daylight set
a lot of those old n scale bachmans you need to run every so often or they will seze up also you may need to run them connected to another loco to pull them around till it warms up then they run like butter until you take them off

Smt quick question are the motor bearings on the mantua 0-4-0 near the commutator I don’t really know
👏👏👏👏👏👏
The shot at 11:01 is awesome!!
Epic
I got a Model Train Stuff ad before this video.
Nice
And SMT!
I’ve seen those Athearn blue boxes fall off of tables and still run
Great vid
Great
