By the way Nik, I know you are not my mama but you are the whole reason I fell into the rabbit hole of junk journals. I don’t think I have ever told you. I was innocently researching book binding because (who knows why) I found a book on it at the thrift store and there you were in ALL your glory. I have watched you for years. Your books are really works of art.

I recently completed my first junk journal. I did so many things different than what you just showed us but I don't care. I love my Positivity Journal. My cover is a laminated (single side) piece of 65 lb card stock. I have 38 pages, one signature. I have a lot of bulky ephemera and approximately a quarter inch spine. I made it just for me to look at when I need a little lift in spirits. I'll post some pictures in the group. Just don't laugh when you see it.
BTW, you can tell us your troubles any time. It always helps to share with people who care for you. We do care.

I love the stories. It's nice knowing other people are dealing with ridiculously annoying headache, or worse, inducing situations. Seems like for me 90% of the time it involves tech. The other 10% of the time it's wasting a day being put on hold. If I'm really lucky it's both.

I’m so happy you’re back. My brother also lives in Dallas. It IS horrible at this time of year. I have to tell you about an old book I have. I inherited my great-aunt’s books many years ago. They’re all hardback. My favorite is one entitled “Words of Wisdom from Shakespeare”. Being a Lit teacher, I eagerly opened it. It’s blank! Completely blank! I don’t know if it got missed in the printing process or if it’s a joke, but it absolutely cracks me up.

Oh. Since you love animals: I can tell you a very lovely story!
I saved a magpie yesterday. It got stuck inside the airvent to my bathroom. I called firefighters. They showed up but didn't help (you have to destroy the grate. It's just not reasonable). Well, they wouldn't, so I attacked the wall with all kinds of tools after having given water to poor birdy with a pipette. At one point the grate gave in and I could remove it and there sat magpie. All tired but not panicking at all. I took her in my hand, put a towel over her head and very calmly carried her down 4 stairs and released her outside. I am so happy. I hope she is doing well...
Ps: it took me only 2 hours to repair the damage. Its not pretty but I think it's so worth it.

Nope, don't think so! and it's giving us grey hair in abundance, or worse, a headache...) and I just love your youtube style. 😊
I really like how the 4 stitch binding looked on the backside of the green paper you glued down. And you gave me an Aha! 💡 moment when you stated the obvious go having an even number to be able to stitch the signatures the way you did now. Inspiring, fun video as usual! Thank you, Nik! 😊

I am forever grateful to folks who take the time to turn on the camera, document their struggles and fixes, then upload it for the rest of us. The good news is that the hose timer started working without me doing anything. Which is GREAT and not great. Because now I'm even more confused, not only as to why it stopped working, but also why it started back up.

I’ve not been willing to try Other methods I’ve seen online because they don’t provide any real support over the little gaps, they just glue or sew the block to the book’s spine. I always figured it wasn’t going to hold together without fly sheets or something to provide true support across the gaps.

I love this journal! I always learn something new when I watch your videos, Ive been gluing text blocks in and not letting them dry long enough so the side flappy things that you glue to the cover (don't know technical word 🥴)always pucker so I'm going to stop doing that and let the spine dry. Love hearing your stories! I feel your pain with the hose timer! It took me 2 hrs to get a fan to be controlled by Alexa😒 (it finally connected once i said I f--ing give up lol!) you are so fluffing funny love you Nik hope your headache is better!
