      Switched back to a Samsung phone. I found out that the other one had such high emissions that I was dizzy and not able to walk and exercise for days. There should be a warning that these phones are really bad for recovering stroke patients with repair processes in their nervous system. Samsung leads the rankings in low emissions and guess what - no exercise problems any more right after the switch 🤩🤩 aaand a set of new emojis 🥰💝😍

    What a great explanation. I didn’t have a stroke but instead a neurodegenerative disease. My neuromuscular recovery therapist would start me off walking backwards on a treadmill and then let me do the other progressions. She used the phrase “let’s erase the bad pattern first”. Now I get it. Thanks.

I can open and close my fingers of affected side easily. when i moves one finger of affected hand , other fingers move along with it for example when i try to extend my thumb of involved side then all the other finger of same hand extend along with the thumb and when i flex thumb then other fingers also flex along with thumb and vice versa
    I want to ask that Is it due to abnormal synergy pattern?

    #neuroplasticity the more come across the subject the more i found it more interesting, i thought that neuro plasticity was a positive things but it makes sense the negative side of it for example if i trying to raise the
    arm internally rotated i am creating a negative pattern and connection to the brain thats why i love how you break down each movement to work on a strong foundation. Lastly, i noted in your video the usage of a hand/arm splint is that one you are working on or is accessible to buy it? i have problem on putting weight on the hand and arm because of mild spasticity. thank you doc god bless you always!

    • @rehabhqofficial
      @rehabhqofficial  4 года назад +1

      Hi Manuel! Thanks for watching. I am glad it makes sense. The hand splint in the video is the Saebo stretch. I am working on a design right now but it is not yet available. If you have mild spasticity, the Saebo Stretch might work for you. I do not recommend it for any that has moderate spasticity in the hand (if you hand is hard to get out of a fist when you try and open it with your strong hand). In that case someone would need something rigid. I hope that helps!

    • @rehabhqofficial
      @rehabhqofficial  4 года назад

      Hi David. Yes, gait speed has grown more attention due to some recent research that suggests people who have a faster gait speed reduce their risk of falling. I use this research sparingly as I think quality movement is equally important and in my experience someone will almost always sacrifice quality when walking faster especially after damage to the neurologic system. But those are just my general thoughts on this topic and I would definitely listen to a PT who has done a face to face evaluation with you. I hope that helps!

    Hello team,
    My question will the foot drop go away with e ercises and stretches. Let me know please please

    • @rehabhqofficial
      @rehabhqofficial  4 года назад +3

      Thanks for watching and for commenting! Everyone is different so that is tough to give an answer. Also, many things cause foot drop so not knowing this also makes it hard to know. Regardless, there is one thing I do know......not doing anything is not going to make it better and continuing to try and make connections with the muscles is not going to hurt anything. So, in my mind, the real question is...do you want it to get better? and how can you find ways to stay motivated when it seems there is little to no progress? I think answering these questions is much more valuable to achieving long term "success" at anything in life. Hang in there. I can't imagine what it is like to work hard and not see the results you want. So always keep in mind what I mention in most of my videos......look for that 1% improvement and try and stay focused on that.
