A less supernatural interpretation: Paul mentioned earlier that he saw "Rainer" (Daniel) at a party playing video games with the younger kids. Those are the kids whose named saves are earliest in the list. At that point, Petscop was just an innocent little WIP or proof-of-concept of a kids' puzzle game. But then he discovered all the dirt on Marvin, and made a special new build "for him."

Paul's game is not "over" yet, that's why the game doesn't show his recordings in my opinion. If you go watch the end of Petscop 20 you will see a sort of "petscopception" where the recording menu goes into the actual menu of the game played.
Interesting tidbit: the sort-test room/recording is the kind of thing that game devs use to test their game engine. The different segments of level geometry are there to check that graphics overlap correctly depending on their position within the scene, e.g. an object closer to the front should overlap something that is further back. In graphics programming this is called z-ordering, z-sorting or layer-sorting. It looks like the z-ordering in petscop seems to work on a per-face basis, which is accurate with how PS1-era graphics worked

I heard they developed a custom engine for the series, which is super impressive because they managed to achieve that ps1 look almost perfectly even at a technical level. My theory is that they included that stuff in the video because they wanted to show off, lol

Belle is the only one who caught all the pets in Even Care right away. Even Paul couldn’t catch Roneth with the bucket until he went into the Newmaker plane and was given a hint (when he caught the blue awl with the pink bucket.) No wonder Marvin wanted to make her Tiara.
The scary thing is Care, Amber and Mike (maybe more) are both save names AND referenced in the game Usually you have to name your character before playing in these older games and given how 'rare' this game is I find it hard to believe they're referencing the game

These many recordings... it seems like some can be recorded automatically, but others are individually labelled, perhaps by filename, or perhaps by somebody registering the recordings? Either way, the power of recordings is a very interesting one. I remember when this video was posted, me and my best friend were freaking out, talking to each other about it all, I was just trying to sleep when Petscop 17 went up... recordings have the power to do a lot of things, not all of them good, but not all of them bad, either. I think that the generations have an impact on the "game development" and it develops as people play it. The only concern I have is that you would need an insane amount of data to make these things happen and a PS1 era CD just won't work. It needs a high capacity CD or DVD that didn't existed back then, so Petscop is a modern game made for PS1.
Maybe not, since one of the clips included showed the player failing to catch that pet by the gates. Since we know that Paul knows how to catch that pet from earlier episodes, the persom playing might not be Paul.
These are either: A save states as hinted by the auto-saves, or B: records kept by the game of it's players, like if somebody named micheal played the game the game memorized the inputs and it would be saved as micheal. Im pretty sure gen. is game version or game progress.

I'm pretty sure the ones marked with a memory card are (as the symbol suggests) the ones currently saved to Paul's PS1's memory card-- i.e. kept in external storage (in relation to the game, at least). The ones marked with a disc, however, have likely been somehow written onto the disc-- irreversibly saved within the game.

One theory I have with this episode. A lot of the disks have random names that we haven’t heard of in the story. Maybe by doing something special in the respective disks, he “rebirths” the person in corresponds to. Rebirthing is a common trend among the perscop universe.

What I really like about this series is that it always keeps you on edge, so you always expect something popping out all of a sudden, yet the closest it has ever gotten to a jumpscare was at 3:54
According to The Cutting Room Floor those wierd creepy looking barely finished rooms were used by the developers to test movement for Gaurdian and collision detection. Pretty cool stuff in my opinion!

well here we learn that paul was not the only one who played the games, but many other kids. It might be this game is designed as a psychological tool to "help" kids get over mental issues?? As we watch the recordings we get to see how these kids think and interact with the game, so the "recordings raise the dead" is an interesting statement and worth thinking about.

However, we know that Daniel is alive. There is also a recording called "marvin" maybe its actually recording every human that has ever played the game.
Idk if you google translated it but it is never used in that context. It almost always refers to the terminal. In fact that's the only context I've heard it in. Plus the cars.
I think Nightmare Masterclass' analysis of it coming from Gara (fish guts, fish meat) and Lina (line, fishing line) is more apt (and equally creepy). Also the G is fish hook shaped and the extended shape around it is shaped just like a fishing weight.
I think this may be the last Petshop episode we'll get this month. I would say the 3 uploaded episodes are like how it's Easter Sunday, the day Jesus rose from his grave, and we found the egg.

The reason we don’t hear Paul talking is because the videos are being recorded by petscop itself instead of Paul. That’s why the saved files also look different. Clearly, all of these other people were also once players of the game that were recorded by the game unbeknownst to them.
“According to him he is never the same person for more than a few seconds” Well that’s certainly the most rapid form of rebirth in this series so far, even if it carries an odd caveat with the phrase “according to him.” We’ve heard of and even seen many examples of rebirth (ep 3 outright mentioned the word Rebirth in that creepy note, the three different versions of Care, A B & NLM and the fact that a few episodes ago they alluded to searching for Care A and finding Care B) so why does this example carry an air of uncertainty? Maybe it could be that Wavey hasn’t experienced enough trauma to be reborn unlike Care and a few other characters.

I'm pretty sure the ones marked with a memory card are (as the symbol suggests) the ones currently saved to Paul's PS1's memory card-- i.e. kept in external storage (in relation to the game, at least). The ones marked with a disc, however, have likely been somehow written onto the disc-- irreversibly saved within the game.

One theory I have with this episode.
A lot of the disks have random names that we haven’t heard of in the story. Maybe by doing something special in the respective disks, he “rebirths” the person in corresponds to. Rebirthing is a common trend among the perscop universe.

What I really like about this series is that it always keeps you on edge, so you always expect something popping out all of a sudden, yet the closest it has ever gotten to a jumpscare was at 3:54

According to The Cutting Room Floor those wierd creepy looking barely finished rooms were used by the developers to test movement for Gaurdian and collision detection. Pretty cool stuff in my opinion!

well here we learn that paul was not the only one who played the games, but many other kids. It might be this game is designed as a psychological tool to "help" kids get over mental issues?? As we watch the recordings we get to see how these kids think and interact with the game, so the "recordings raise the dead" is an interesting statement and worth thinking about.

Idk if you google translated it but it is never used in that context. It almost always refers to the terminal. In fact that's the only context I've heard it in. Plus the cars.
I think Nightmare Masterclass' analysis of it coming from Gara (fish guts, fish meat) and Lina (line, fishing line) is more apt (and equally creepy).
Also the G is fish hook shaped and the extended shape around it is shaped just like a fishing weight.

@@jeffthepuppetYT I've noticed it hasn't been there for anyone other than Paul if you watch any recordings where it shows the pause screen, Its not there.
The reason we don’t hear Paul talking is because the videos are being recorded by petscop itself instead of Paul. That’s why the saved files also look different. Clearly, all of these other people were also once players of the game that were recorded by the game unbeknownst to them.

Well that’s certainly the most rapid form of rebirth in this series so far, even if it carries an odd caveat with the phrase “according to him.” We’ve heard of and even seen many examples of rebirth (ep 3 outright mentioned the word Rebirth in that creepy note, the three different versions of Care, A B & NLM and the fact that a few episodes ago they alluded to searching for Care A and finding Care B) so why does this example carry an air of uncertainty? Maybe it could be that Wavey hasn’t experienced enough trauma to be reborn unlike Care and a few other characters.
