When this came out it gave us 80s rock fans hope that this type of music would make a big comeback.
Yeah. It was kind of a disappointment they didn't get bigger. For a while, it looked like they had the potential to be the next Van Halen or Aerosmith.

Buckcherry is a high octane rock band we rocked out to in the 2000's. They had a lot of hits. Crazy B**ch, Sorry, and Everything were really popular. Great reaction!

I also think Buckcherry is a great band…at least they were. Self titled and Timebomb are amazing rock albums. 15 started getting cheesy, but still pretty good. They lost me after that. The first two records though…\mm/

@@LN-Lifer I had a blast but it was a bit too much for my gf. She was having some anxiety bc the crowd was out of control. There was a guy who got stabbed in front of us, not terrible but they were taken out. By the time MM came out with the strippers she was over it. She was probably 16 then & really small. We weren't really into any of the bands that played that night. I got those tickets cheap, maybe even given to me so we went. I wanna say it was an all day thing but I really can't remember. We just started dating so it was '98 or '99. We went to a lot of shows back then and I wasn't exactly sober in those days either 😅
Monster Magnet is severely underrated! Great band!

I recommend "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry. It was released in 2005 and is a love song for the Millennials, much like the 1968 song, "Daydream Believer", performed by the Monkees, was for the Boomers. Seventeen years have passed since I first listened to it, and I still tear up when I hear it even today.

The second album "Time Bomb" is cover to cover, all killer no filler. BUT, the public wasn't into rock. The timing is everything. It should have been their "Appetite".

True story.....Buckcherry was part of the MTV college tours and my buddy's band was their opening act. I usually helped out with the shows so I was in the backstage for the concert. Anyways, the lead singer for Buckcherry is a small dude and he decided to follow my buddy's girlfriend into the bathroom and hit on her. When my friend (who's 6'4")was done with his set, he heard what happened and proceeded to kick the shit out the guy. Buckcherry ended up having to perform just minutes after the asshat got crapped knocked out of him.
They called me “Crawdaddy” in high school. 😂
I remember when Buckcherry debuted w/ this song in 1999, I thought the band was going to be the next Guns N' Roses, or AC/DC... the original band w/ Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), J.B. Brightman (bass) & Devon Glenn (drums) ... Yogi (2nd guitar) joined to tour. The album went gold in the US (half million copies) ... But somehow, Buckcherry faltered w/ the 2001 album 'Time bomb' and the band split up by 2002.
Thankfully, Josh Todd & Keith Nelson reformed Buckcherry in 2005 and released their biggest record '15' and it sold 2 million copies in the US w/ the singles 'Crazy b!tch' and 'Sorry'... but subsequent albums did not match that success... Buckcherry is still recording & touring, but w/ Josh Todd as the only original member.
Their first show to promote Time Bomb was the day after 9/11...
Black Butterfly which came out after 15 debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200, and had several hits like Rescue Me, Too Drunk..., and Talk To Me. Following that album you didn't hear a lot of rock radio pick up subsequent hits, other than Gluttony.
Woodstock 99 live is the pinnacle of this song, first 2 albums buckcherry put out were their best, also Josh Todd's solo album was pretty damn good too

I wish I could've seen them back in 1999, but they didn't come near my town. First opportunity was 2006, and now I've seen them 18 times. Since 2013 they've come to my city at least once a year, sometimes twice.
I would turn this up to the max when I was racing at Road Atlanta on my old Ducati 851. I put some of my best lap times while listening to this tune :) During cool down laps, I would slide the rear tire in turn 6. Fantastic fun to a great song.
Another of the songs my band used to cover. Played it a lot in early 2000s, when people were far more into heavy partying. Lex totally gets it.

When asked in an interview why the name "Buckcherry" Todd replied "because Chuck Berry was already taken". Yes, it is a song about partying, and "mama" he is referencing his girl. They have a very southern twang to their sound and if you like them you should check out Texas Hippie Coalition (THC). Turn It Up, Pissed off and Mad, Hands Up, Leaving... all good songs.
Great video as always guys. Some great tunes on this album, "Check your head" Related, "Lawless & Lulu." The guitarist & singer almost ended up in Velvet Revolver with Slash from GnR but it didn't work out. Although guitarist Keith Nelson made the riff for their tune "dirty little thing."

Even though this song came out much later with regards to 'the coke theme' in what I concider ' the wild 80's, it's still relatable to anyone who partied hard in their 'yoot'. Not gonna lie, but being a teenager in the mid 80's was the bomb, and though those days are long gone ( and I despised those who smoked or injected it) cocaine was quite popular in the day and a helluva' lot of fun while it lasted. ( in moderation)
We used to call it 'the competitive edge' 😆 when going out to chase tail at the clubs.
It kept us going so we could drink longer and not get 'sloppy', and yeah-o-yeah, the ladies loved doing the 'bump' too.
Drugs are a sensitive subject and not for everyone. It's important to be clear that they are dangerous and addictive and not for everyone if not careful, so while I might look back at those glory years with great fondness, I understand how bad it can be for some people who struggled. And yeah, I also hit the wall more than a few times, waking up after a 48 hour bender/ weekend with no money, no mercy and my head on fire...( Billy Joel reference)..
Anyhoo'...Buckcherry great song, great times in the early 90's. 1984 to 1988 were some seriously badass times to be in your mid to late teens...and I was blessed to live those years and survive them.
I wouldn't give up being a little-tyke through the 70's and just turning a teenager when 1980 rolled around. The 70's and 80's were the Reniasaince of music...from the leftovers of the greats of the 60's, The Beatles, The Doors, Janis Joplin,, Jimi Hendrix etc.. to the peak of Black Sabbath , Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who and The Stones...then the emergence of Kiss, Heart, Aerosmith, Boston and Van Halen as well as all the great singer songwriters The Carpenters, James Taylor, Billy Joel,, CSN&Y, The Eagles... the list is endless.. the mid 70's gave us Disco and The Bee-Gee's..ABBA and as the 70's ended we started to get 'new wave'.. The Cars...

This song came out when Limp Bizkit and boy bands were everywhere so it was kinda refreshing. I think this is an antidrug song...at least it is to me. And I think he's saying he puts the white stuff above his own mother when he's "lit up."
