If I am the Steelers, even after signing Russel Wilson I would Signe Mason Rudolph and let the 3 QB's have a training camp of Competition. I think Mason is the better QB. My QB Room in 2024 would be QB1 Mason QB2 Wilson QB3 KP8. Wilson has 2 Good Solid years and is under contract for 1 years. Mason on the other hand has about 5 - 7 untapped potential Good years left. KP8 is injury prone, but would be a solid back up. to solidify the Defense, I am signing an Elite CB to pair with JPJ and/or taking a CB in the first round. Then you have 2 Lockdown CBs which will immensely help the Pass Rush particularly the Edge Rushers TJ and Highsmith. Also, it will allow the Steelers to employ and more effective 3 Star Safety Package that will minimize the use of the ILB's in Coverage. Which means you have to Sign CJ Gardner or Justin Simmons and pair him with Minka, we have the CAP Space. Also, Bring back Edmunds as your in the Box Safety. And this will solidify the Defense. CB is the Priority draft and in Free agency, Then SS, and Then you look at your Centers in Free agency and in the 2nd or 3rd rounds of the Draft alone with ILB, DL, and WR. The Kahn Artist has a record of doubling down on players in Free Agency and the Draft. Again, CB, SS, C, ILB, DL, and WR.

Outside of, butt hurt Richard Sherman and some of the old Legion of Boom players, are there are any examples of players who have played with Russ who've complained about him? There's this whole narrative of him being a diva, a potential locker room cancer, bad teammate, etc but I don't recall hearing this from anyone outside of the ones I mentioned above. I'm looking for concrete examples of players who have actually played with the man having these issues and not a media narrative which is often presented by former players who were never in a locker room with the dude.
I see it two ways 1 KP is the presumptive starter so the FO can assess him and Russ is the QB2/mentoring Role. Or 2. Russ is the day 1 starter and KP is the backup while he sits and learns from Russ. I would like to see option 1 for the simple fact we know what we get with Russ. He was great for years. Signing Russell Wilson is an absolute mistake. One of the criticisms of Kenny Pickett was that he prematurely exited from a still-safe pocket. Wilson routinely rolls-out of the pocket to attempt off-script plays. He probably does that because short QBs rouinely have difficulties in seeing down-field when the O-line stands anywhere from 6'4" to 6'7". You can't out-coach vertically-challenged. What a mess.
Those who know the qb position know that Kenny is clearly a better QB than Mason or Wilson. But nonetheless, I love the acquisition. I'd end up starting Wilson week 1. And I'd love the underdog story of Kenny coming in at some point of the season when Wilson is struggling, and ultimately cementing himself as the Steelers QB for yrs to come. I see it two ways
1 KP is the presumptive starter so the FO can assess him and Russ is the QB2/mentoring Role.
Or 2. Russ is the day 1 starter and KP is the backup while he sits and learns from Russ.
I would like to see option 1 for the simple fact we know what we get with Russ. He was great for years. He would be the perfect mentor for KP both have similar play styles and Russ knows what skills that could maximize KP's potential
KP needs to be on the field to improve. we saw his potential in his last game without canada. He looked ready to go. A year on the bench is not what he needs.

The difference between Denver and Pittsburgh is that Denver had to cough up over 100 million and draft picks to find out what Wilson could give them, The Steelers give up 1.2 million. Denver's decision-making skills doesn't carry much weight.

Learn from watching him hold onto the ball for 3 plus seconds each possession, take 50+ sacks a season, throw the ball over the middle 6% of the time, throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage 26% of the time? Yeah- those are his numbers from last year. Everyone wants to look at his Td’s without looking at the baggage that comes with him at 35 years old after two teams pay other teams to take him off their hands.
Signing Russell Wilson is an absolute mistake. One of the criticisms of Kenny Pickett was that he prematurely exited from a still-safe pocket. Wilson routinely rolls-out of the pocket to attempt off-script plays. He probably does that because short QBs rouinely have difficulties in seeing down-field when the O-line stands anywhere from 6'4" to 6'7". You can't out-coach vertically-challenged. What a mess.

Those who know the qb position know that Kenny is clearly a better QB than Mason or Wilson. But nonetheless, I love the acquisition. I'd end up starting Wilson week 1. And I'd love the underdog story of Kenny coming in at some point of the season when Wilson is struggling, and ultimately cementing himself as the Steelers QB for yrs to come. I want everyone who is doubting Kenny Pickett as the franchise QB.
