  • 🔥Justin Fields TOSS'N ROCKETS AT Pittsburgh Steelers OTAs - Russell Wilson Might Be In TROUBLE🔥
Justin Fields is now a Pittsburgh Steeler and he made his debut with the team in OTAs. Russell Wilson is also a new with the team and we get a quick look at him. The Steelers now have a lot of talent at quarterback with very little cost invested. A win-win for the team.

Definitely agreed coming from another Bear fan. The man could never really feel comfortable in pocket, and had to run for his life on more plays than any QB ever should. Thank goodness the Steelers organization focused heavily on building the trenches with A1 studs for the offensive wall of the future. His confidence level seems higher than it ever was in Chicago and it's definitely showing in OTAs.

As a Bears fan, I blame the Bears organization not Fields who did well with practically no help. He is in a great organization and coaching now. He is a smart kid. If Fields grows because of Russ’s teachings and example, every wants that, but that’s not why Russ was brought to Pittsburgh. Furthermore, iron sharpens iron. It doesn’t seem to occur to the Russ-haters that Fields was only brought in to push Russ hard. It looks like the latter is happening more than the former.

Athletically Justin Fields has it all. Arms, legs, speed, quickness and works hard. But with the Bears who had the lousiest teammates at the time Justin was scratching the surface of things a qb absolutely needs and that is reading defenses and having an upbeat leadership quality. Tough to develop him also when Justin had some I can do it on my own attitude as well. Hopefully, in his fourth year with the Steelers he can finally put it all together with a good Steelers team. JF is a talented qb and it's only a matter of time he becomes a complete qb.

And before you say Broncos was a bad team. From what I have been told if you’re one of the greats you should be able to play through whatever your circumstances are. Instead his team was willing to cut him and take a 80 MILLION. DOLLAR hit simply so he’s not playing for them.

    • @jonholzworth4463
      @jonholzworth4463 3 месяца назад

@@ashleythomas1001 I love when people say stuff like "he was on a built team." Yeah. No shit. They won the Super Bowl. Find me a Super Bowl winning team that had nothing but a good QB. Every Super Bowl winning team is built. Every Super Bowl winning team has a great D. Every Super Bowl winning QB had great talent around them. Pointing out that he was on a good team isn't a critique of Wilson, it's just stating the obvious.
The Broncos are a bad team. Statistically, Russ was the 8th best QB in the league last year. He did his job. It was the rest of the team that failed to do theirs. And, I don't know who told you that if you're one of the greats you should be able to play through anything, but you should stop listening to that person. Even great QBs need a little bit of talent around them. Even the greatest QBs of all time need a solid defense in order to win games.
You are right about one thing, though. The Broncos were willing to eat his contract and let him go. But tell me, have you heard anyone say that what they did was smart? And, no you can't say it was the same person that told you the all-time great QBs can win games all by themselves. When Payton got to Denver he was all about Russ. Then they went out and lost 70-20 to Miami. Terrible defense has been a hallmark of Payton's tenure with the Broncos. Payton was doing just as poorly as Nathaniel Hackett who he trash talked endlessly during his one season as head coach, so he needed a scapegoat. The front office was already mad at Russ because they attempted to illegally strongarm him into dropping the injury guarantee in his contract, and he refused. So, after week 15 Payton benched Wilson despite the fact that he had already thrown for over 3000 yards and 26 touchdowns, adding 3 more with his legs, and only threw 8 interceptions. After benching him despite being warned that they would be violating the CBA and New York law, they had no choice but to let him start negotiating early with other teams. Denver didn't let him go because they were willing to pay him all that money to not be on the team. They let him go because they were caught committing very serious violations of the CBA for which they would be severely punished. They had to sit and watch as Wilson picked whatever team he wanted to play for, knowing full well that they had to pick up the tab for wherever he chose to play because he had them over a barrel. Denver is in shambles. They spent all of that money and draft capital on Wilson and then gave him possibly the worst head coach in history. Then they overspent again on Payton who has hardly done any better. Then Paton managed to violate the CBA in writing like a moron. Paton has put the Broncos in a hole that will take a decade to crawl out of. How he still has job is beyond me. But Russ? He gone be just fine. He got his bag and he got to go to an organization in a far better position with a far superior coach.

JF1 is great.. Place the blame at the feet of the OC Getsy.. That OC did some very weird things, and the progression order for the QBs was backwards many times... Also the change in the drop back footwork that Getsy force JF1 to do was just ridiculous. Steelers got a really good QB, just make sure the Center can hold a block for 2.5 sec and JF1 will be more than fine... You guys are lucky to have him... I wish we woulda kept him, we would be a playoff team and chip contenter no doubt if they did considering all the upgrades the made on the offensive side of the ball... Now we have to watch Rookie mstakes and harsh lessons for the about the next two years. Caleb could be great at some point, but no one knows that for sure.. That doesn’t matter because Russ was also done sh!tty in every way Justin was, and unlike Justin, Russ has a winning pedigree behind him, an entire decade of excellence that n his resume and multiple coaches and analysts believing he can still go another 4-5 more years.
      That’s a long time. A team’s Future can be immediate (i.e., 1-2 years), short-term (i.e., 3-5 years), or long-term (i.e., 6-10 years).
Russ’s can be the Steelers’ short-term future, and they are built to win now, make a few runs, and then rebuild after Russ is gone (TJ Watt and the rest will be gone too!).
Very few people are looking at that. The Steelers are a win-now team. Russ fits their current state much more than Fields does.
Fields has talent, and yes, he has a rocket for an arm, but he can’t sling it like Russ can. Russ has an amazing arm and he completes some of the list uncanny passes I have ever seen.

As a Bears fan Fikeds is a great kid w/ a great attitude. His problem was never footwork or arm talent. Reading defense wasn’t the main problem either. The problem was anticipation & being able to throw w/ anticipation so that when a guy came out of his break the ball was there. He’d hold on to it until guy came all the way open & by that time the D could recover, or he’d hold onto it even longer than that & get hit & fumble. He led QB’s in fumbles & at least 50% of them were completely avoidable.
Granted Getsy was an awful offensive coordinator & play caller, but still watching film there was always around 3-5 plays every game that could’ve been huge plays if he had just threw the ball when he was supposed too

At one point in the 2023 season he was 22 for 23 in passing attempts against Denver. The one miss was a half time Hail Mary. He’s had blunders which haters love to cherry pick, but at times he can read very well particularly on deep concepts. It’s the short game that he doesn’t always see the window which is why I believe we’re seeing some mechanical changes. It looks like he’s using more hips and less loading off the back foot making his release quicker.

JF1 is elite and one of the best deep ball passers in the NFL. Play action and bootleg with JF will be 100% LETHAL!
The whole "can't read defense" mantra is garbage from one half of bears fans that selectively picked out a handful of videos from his 3 years. Totally false... He had a multiple OCs and head coaches. His last OC they brought in for the Bears had zero NFL playcalling experience (no focus on developing Fields at all)... Meanwhile Eberfraud was given 100 million to upgrade his defense while Fields was left with a JV team and had to be the entire Bears offense by himself. Then the head coach threw him under the bus (after firing the OC he hired and the DC he hired too) to save his own skin. The Bears franchise is garbage and didn't want or know how to develop him. Disgusting franchise. -Former Bear fan.

Fields has a slight advantage in rushing. Russ is superior in every other department. That small rushing advantage isn’t nearly enough to compensate for Russ’s superiority as a passer, especially if we discuss 4th quarter metrics.
If wediscount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be better than Fields’s by an even larger margin, even if we include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics.
While both take a lot of sacks, Russ has taken them due to bad/inconsistent O-Lines and pure stubbornness on his part. Fields takes them more because he isn’t a great reader of defenses. His O-Lines have been better than Russ’s.
