and what type of EAS is this? because I grew up seeing this one all the time, and the tones horrified me

it doesn't have an official name as far as I know, but we often call it the SARA bar as it was often used on SATA cable box firmware.

@@luennix I remember seeing it from like 2011-2016 until we got our Xfinity X1. It would always show the red box saying "the national weather service" blah blah, without tones, then it would come back about 30 seconds later, and then play tones, and that stuff made me scream. Every time I'd see that red box I'd run into my room to not hear the tones. Hope some of this info helps. That would be cool if you could do an EAS mock on one like that, there was one for flash flood warnings on 5/31/15 for harris county, texas. it played while we were watching the interview on the family guy voice actors.
