    My son fishes those rooster tails a lot , catches everything from panfish, bass, to pike. I fish a small Mepps spinner with the squirrel tail hair for trout in summer. Used to send Mepps tails from fall hunting and would receive spinners from them. I use medium size spinner baits for smallmouth in the rivers here in south Michigan because of so many logs and snags make the inline spinners almost impossible to fish without losing them. NICE CATCH👍

      Yeah I forgot about Mepps taking squirrel tails from people to make baits. That’s pretty dang cool of them to do that.

      @@FishingWithChris_Tv I haven’t squirrel hunted in a few years don’t know but I accumulated about 20 trout/panfish sized ones

    You got them on a good active day. I'm so glad we're having a decent spring so far.

      Yep. Cast Blast Camp on here has had several solid trips in the same spots, check his out too, and I may have a catch and cook on the way 👀👀

    Imagine if the only creek you fish eats 🐓 tails like 🍬. Huge spots roam there so I keep on keeping on. Thanks for showing a good 🐓 tail trip, much appreciated.....

    Some nice catches, Chris. Good tips on rod storage. I left one of my favorite ultralight combos on top of my car one day when I was changing my boots. Drove home before I realized it. Those are some nice storage boxes.

    I work with a guy who says rooster tails ain’t a bass bait. Maybe the biggest ones won’t eat em, I dont know, but I’ve caught plenty LM on em even if they’re only like 12 to 14 inches.

      That guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. These were all 1/4oz and 3/8oz and there’s been many monster bass caught on tiny finesse baits. It just depends on their feeding habits.

    I love fishing rooster tails, sometimes I wonder why people use anything but them for trout or pickerel. Sorry you lost your jig box that sucks, but I was afraid you were gonna say you lost your vanford reel. Great content, I watched the carp videos, you inspired me to make it a goal to catch one this year.

    • @FishingWithChris_Tv

      They aren’t hard to catch that’s for sure. Just buy a few method leads off Amazon or bigcarptackle which is where I order from and get you some smaller pre snelled hooks to attach to them and the stuff to make bait and you’re set.

    Thanks for the tips. I take several rods with me when go fishing and they tangle almost every time.
    I have rod socks, I just don’t like using them. I lost a good combo it blew out of back of my truck. I guess the rod sock turned into a sail.

    • @FishingWithChris_Tv
      @FishingWithChris_Tv  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I have a ton of rod socks but never use them lol they probably would have saved me a ton of money on a new rod since one of mine had a line guide insert get chipped. Instead of trying the repair (clear JB weld epoxy that worked very well) I ordered a rod first, then repaired the damaged one 😐😂

      It’d be nice if RUclips saw it that way. They didn’t push my carp videos hardly at all. Not going to be any more of those dedicated videos anymore.
