You just skipped over the whole CNC hot wire cutter, but you really should do another video on that showing what you did differently and things like how you slice the files for it
3:39 “if you also want to fly an A-10 warthog, but don’t want to go through the long process of building one yourself, you need to check out war thunder” I could have built one sooner than it took me to get it in war thunder 💀
An airsoft gun would definitely be an upgrade, far higher rate of fire, and way larger magazine capacity. It would also allow you to use CO2 or green gas to propel the BBs which would make a small vapor cloud in front of the gun just like the real A10, though this is dependent on the air temperature. A small yellow/orange led at the tip of the barrel that flashes as the gun fires could also sell the effect. Airsoft BBs are also sold in biodegradable variants which means you don’t have to pick them up. There’s also the option of tracers, which would make the A10 look even cooler when firing in the dark. And allow you to better see where the BBs are going You could also add a small speaker to give the plane an authentic BRRRRRRRT sound effect An FPV camera would also allow you to be more accurate. It would also give you POV footage which would be really cool to watch.
This video is criminally underrated. Easily the coolest rc plane project I have seen in a while.. and "Built Fast" has been dropping some banger builds lately. Yet this is cooler. I agree with others asking about a separate video on the updated cnc foam cutter. Thank you for the dose of inspiration!!
As a recent enthousiast of RC planes I think you missed a HUGE opportunity with just this single 13 min video..... You could have documented this amazing built in multiple 20+min videos and it WILL be watched! I don't believe that I am the only one on the planet who - instead of watching cr*p on tv/streaming - binge watch multiple episodes on a built; from unboxing to the final product.
See we used to have good channels on cable. Epecially the DIY channel with where they would build things like this. Unfortunatley we can't have nice things when everything is about sport ball and shaking booty. 2003 was good times.
Take the props off, add some EDFS and gear, then move that battery back up front if needed and it would be cool to have some bombs and cam to watch them hit their targets 😊
hey if you ever get the idea to make another one from the ground up , may i suggest a different route of building the fuselage and chasis frame. you can get tig wire/filler rod, any metal type will do. a 10 pound tube should be more than enough. you can bend these and tack them to form a hoop frame chasis or 3dprint fasteners after you bend them to connect them together if you dont have a welder or torch setup. you could probablly get away with brazing them together as well. this design would survice any type of crash landing, your exterior may not but if you make it modular you could print backup pieces that snap and fit onto the hoopframe chasis .
A good idea could be to just remove the small motors on the wings and go with bigger motors on the back. Where the actual engines of the A-10 are located.
I was stationed at Davis monthan. Home of the warthog. And the boneyard. Saw a10s flying in the sky daily. Actually really miss it.... Have been WANTING to get a 3d printer for awhile now, just haven't had the extra money to as of yet. Once I do though. My son and I will def be building some of the stuff you have built in your videos. Thank you for sharing!
I think you should build another one and engage in dogfight like maneuvers, flying in formation, and never mind the nerf gun, using laser markers would be great. This is not a fighter, but it's so maneuverable that it would behave insanely well for that kind of stuff. Also, placing some ground targets like a tank column would fulfil the role this plane was built for. Cool project, keep it up
I watched you old foam cutter video. Even built one and got it working but then life got in the way. I think people would love to see a video on the new cutter - and how your program the cutter to cut wings!
for war thunder, instead of a long process for building, its an even longer process of grinding out the entire us tech tree to get the a10 late, or buying the 50 dollar a10a
7:30 i have used dolly´s several times. you need the front wheel to be fixed :) and then it works good. i have also used catapult launcher from time to time.
you can buy an A-10 warthog but you have to disarm the gun first which is very hard because the plane was built around the gun but it's not impossible you just need to find someone that knows how to work on the plane to disarm it but also you sometimes you can see them on military auctions where they sell retired gear like tanks helicopters planes and Humvees they will be disabled if they have a gun like a tank or plane you can also get the permits there are a lot of permits like 20 to get a enabled tank or plane with the gun and must get trained on how to use it by the military
You didn't even need the motors in the wing, by using the big fan, a compression system + a module with some heaters and a fit exhaust at the end, will have make it able to carry even a (scale-sized) tank with batteries and some DYI bombs (of no more than air or dust (maybe sand)).
03:34 Should’ve designed a magazine system like the P90’s. Could have had a lot more nerf darts to feed into the gun with the magazine going horizontally down the fuselage! 😂
Could you put more motors in the back 2 engines to accelerate the air more and then remove the motors on the wings? Obv a fair bit of mods would need done but you could counteract with airsoft system instead of nerf
You should make a bigger RC plane that drops bombs or at least small foam ones and so experiment with the mechanism for dropping the bombs and targeting them.
You're really bringing my dreams/nightmares to life with these projects. Add some AI control to it and you'll have the nightmare part nailed. Of course, if you want a good next project, use a couple of microjet engines and build an Me-262.
if it flies well at a third throttle then why have motors on the wings? it adds weight and further complicates the electronics. Also it looks better without them.
Fpv camera and try to aim where darts go and replace the foam darts with electric airsoft BB mechanism this way you could use safe plastic bb or spicy the things by load it with steel bbs. Make sure if you go for bbs to install airsoft gun with adjustable spring tension so you can regulate the power how you need it. Taiwangun is a great website for quality airsoft replicas on a budget.
With @krystofkuh’s comment i think a AEG motor or an AEP with an inbuilt tracer in the hopup and a short innerbarrel you could have a cool night view of fpv flyby. I have sketched and assembled something similar with a pp-19 round magazine or a short hi-cap stanag mag
I’m not surprised it took off at a low speed. It’s a slow plane. If it’s close enough to the real plane, you could probably fly it with only one wing and one engine.
I like it how he said “you want the feeling of flying an A-10 without needing to make it yourself”. Even though it takes months to get the a-10 in warthunder. 😂
Adding a Airsoft AEG or a combination of a gas powered airsoft gun and a circuit or system, might be amusing. But of course that would affect the weight and configuration of the electronics. It might also be more controllable. HPA guns are also a option, but this is just a thought and the build is awesome already.
I was also going to mention airsoft, but then i thought you may have avoided this for safety reasons. A nerf dart isn't going to make anyone blind, airsoft can in fact do this if you're really unlucky, like really unlucky. Also, a remote controlled bb-shooting plane might actually get you into real trouble with the FAA.
The fuselage is complete overkill with its inner structure 3d printed outer structure and additional laminating. But the wings instead just out of foam. That doesn't make sense. It would be totally sufficient just to print out the fuselage or build it out of foam with a additional laminate layer.

nice
fpv with airsoft gun
this is cool but if you wanted to do a cannon plane the xa38 grizzly or a hs129 duck would of been cool but a10 needs to be a brrrrrrrtttttt
can you release the STL file of the a10?
do not play the fucking game, you will regret it
You just skipped over the whole CNC hot wire cutter, but you really should do another video on that showing what you did differently and things like how you slice the files for it
Yes! I second this
Yes, because I kinda want to build it...
Third
agreed!
Very true
Built that backwards. The A-10 is not an aircraft with a gun attached, it’s a gun with a plane attached.
Seriously, super cool build.

Okay but the little nerf blaster design was so slick and you just breezed past it like it was easy
waiting for your next Vtol project bro
Same here
He just modded an existing design to fit.
But I agree it was super slick!
You should replace the nerf blaster for airsoft "gun". Higher fire rate + more ammo = better!
Replace plastic bbs with metal bbs for authentic action

Plus I been trying to find a good way to make an arduino/esp32 controlled aeg so that would be cool to see

Definitely adding an FPV camera to improve aim would be great. Can you add a speaker to make the gun noise while shooting? Love the video. Thanks
Now there’s someone who can hand launch properly!
So many people can’t do this.
Well done. 👍

Very cool plane. How about FPV with a gel blaster. Gel blaster makes glow in the dark pellets too.
Flite Test moment lol

Awesome build. I’d love to see some details on the CNC foam cutter!
... i found the build cool until i saw the extra propellers on the wings... those offend me somehow.

They look so bad he removed them from the thumbnail XD

makes it way faster and more battery efficient, i say why not

When using fiberglass make sure you're using gloves!
And a respirator might be advisable as well (I'm only a few seconds into the video lol)
That is an awesome build. Have you thought about Landing Gear? Can’t wait to see what you design next😎

Hello!
Amazing video! Can you make a video of the electronics? The RC system, the arduino programming?
Yeah I consider building a first plane but it's so complicated to find recent videos that talk about the electronics ...
I think you should build another one and engage in dogfight like maneuvers, flying in formation, and never mind the nerf gun, using laser markers would be great.
This is not a fighter, but it's so maneuverable that it would behave insanely well for that kind of stuff. Also, placing some ground targets like a tank column would fulfil the role this plane was built for.

this is so cool and you are a genius creating all this project
You should add A-10 Decals to the model, would look cool. It looked a really smooth a stable plane to fly.

I love Warthog, its cool, compact, and does the job quite well
Beautiful build and flight congratulations
You should try airsoft bbs or rival rounds
dude...how are you gonna brush over your new CNC foam cutter like that...we want a whole video on it! awesome plane btw
You should try an f22 vtol jet

Have you tried waxed cardstock or waxed cardboard to keep the weight done
5:51 shouldn’t you apply the fiberglass with epoxy instead of spray glue?
At least thats what i always thought

nice job. but why motors on the wings ? takes away from the scale look a bit... is it not possible to get enough thrust from rear motors ?
A very cool custom build! well done
can you show how you have the design with all the parts. I also want to build an RC airplane and want to design it as much as you.
a step by step tutorial would be cool.
What did you use to seal between the 3D printed panels ?
03:34 Should’ve designed a magazine system like the P90’s. Could have had a lot more nerf darts to feed into the gun with the magazine going horizontally down the fuselage! 😂
To add, I wish it had only the "real" engines, not the wings ones.
I would like to see a KC390 plane built next! With landing gear!
You should add an FPV Camera and try and do a "bomber run" with a bunch of targets set up! Maybe you could even have people trying to shoot it down...
Could you put more motors in the back 2 engines to accelerate the air more and then remove the motors on the wings? Obv a fair bit of mods would need done but you could counteract with airsoft system instead of nerf
How did you register this with the FAA? Pleas fill us in on that part of the process.
You should do a F4U Corsair - it would be interestingly complicated with the hot-wire CNC
Replace nerf for aircraft then Fpv it with ballon ground targets and released targets. Dope Build 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What kind of foam cutter is that and what would you like if you would upgrade?
You should make a bigger RC plane that drops bombs or at least small foam ones and so experiment with the mechanism for dropping the bombs and targeting them.
Fantastic build, thank you! Just wondering if the wing motors are necessary as you commented the plane seems to be overpowered. A thought. Nice job!
The Warthog is back in business!
(always sunny reference)
Make a plane that can drop stuff from the back and then drop parachutes with a firework attached to it.
You're really bringing my dreams/nightmares to life with these projects. Add some AI control to it and you'll have the nightmare part nailed. Of course, if you want a good next project, use a couple of microjet engines and build an Me-262.
For a thing to fly, it needs, power.
W/ enough power everything flies.
You drop a banger of a new foam cutter and just tease it?! My man, you gotta share that!
the fact that your near a coal plant is crazy and i also think that one of them is a nuclear reactor
I would love to see one of these with a full auto ruger 10 22 with a high cap magazine. Highly illegal but it would be cool.

it flies beautifully!

if it flies well at a third throttle then why have motors on the wings? it adds weight and further complicates the electronics. Also it looks better without them.

I’m not surprised it took off at a low speed. It’s a slow plane. If it’s close enough to the real plane, you could probably fly it with only one wing and one engine.

Is the G force applied on this scale? if yes ok. Why doesn't the engine break away from the plane's fuselage and start up?
You can build german WWII early jet He-162, that would be pretty cool
Which cad software are you using for your projects brother?
This is so cool, could you do a Messerschmitt 262? Its the first jet ever build
Seems it should be able to fly with just the enclosed fans in the shrouds.
I have an idea for the gun you can use two high speed motors with wheels so they can easily shoot the ammo
The a10 cannon isn’t centered in the fuselage it’s offset to one side
Very nice build! I need to 3D print a jet.
Ok the CNC foam cutter plans for sale ??
Why didn’t you use an edf
Fantastic work, Michael! Really well done! 😃
Awesome flying as well!

A nerf dart isn't going to make anyone blind, airsoft can in fact do this if you're really unlucky, like really unlucky.

two recommendations for your future R/C builds: Horten 229, Bugatti 100P
HS-129 B3 should be next! if you could get the big gun working that would be cool. i guess depending on scale you could use paintballs!
looks great, but the propellers could be replaced with 2 large edfs
There's a video titled "no full auto in building". Try something like that, maybe with an on-board compressor.
Add explosives to it and you can raise budget to do even crazier stuff
