    How did we get here?
After a year of full time travel living the van life, we had to adapt when the world changed. To keep busy we’ve converted our tiny house on wheels into a fully functioning off grid home that has everything we need. Realizing that none of us know how long this new normal will stick around, we made the decision that building a home here was the best decision we could make. We've spent the last year doing EVERYTHING involved with coordinating and planning the build ourselves as well as setting up this off grid property to be able to provide us with the the food we'll need in the future. That led us to needing a place to live while we realized our dream of building a shipping container home. After lots of searching we finally discovered Geodesic Dome's and it was the perfect fit for us while we took our time with the container home.

The last few months have been filled with project after project, and while we've made huge progress...today's really made it feel like home! You'd think the windows or the roof would've done that but spending so many hours dreaming of how we'll spend our days in each room was a real full circle experience. Going through the electrical plan and by choosing the most efficient products we have some surplus power...you are literally going to be mind-blown with what we're doing with it. Without question, the biggest project EVER. If you're a member of the Patreon community, don't spill the beans! 😏

    Hey guys
Been a fan for a few months and can’t get enough. I’m a 70 year old man that has always prided myself at being handy. You two are way beyond that. So much confidence. So much enthusiasm. I know that you’re working with professional trades, but you both make sure to educate yourselves on on all aspects of the build. So to have all that is remarkable and then add the humour, laughs and antics…so much fun. If I’m being honest, I get emotional watching how much you love each other. You are both remarkable and inspiring. ❤

Hey, guys, where's today's video? Is everything okay? I look forward to every Sunday watching your newest video. Love the progress of the container home, it looks amazing. You'll have taught me so much about building a home. I have always renovated homes. I've never built one, but to see this one. Being built with such tremendous care being taken towards the environment is amazing to see and very educational. Thanks, guys, for doing this entire video series on building your home. And the dome and everything else that you'll have created. Here's a shout-out from South Louisiana to you both as a congratulations on everything accomplished.

Tyler remaining stationary while roughly spinning Todd’s head around was hilarious. The first time my husband and I cut each other’s hair almost the same scenario played out. He was first in the chair and I was quite gentle. When he was the barber, I asked why are you being so rough, he replied, “this is how my dad always cut mine on our dairy farm”. I waited a beat and said “those poor cows”. Fortunately, his technique has improved over the last thirty seven years. 😅😂 We absolutely love your content❣️

I agree with Lynn I was worried when I heard you were spray foaming ontop of the wires as well... please please document with photos diagrams and labels before you spray foam. I made this mistake on my tiny house. Consider panelling on walls with the main electrical wires so you don't have to bash in the dry wall if there's an electical issue

First time here. Following you since recently. Really like your dogs and the way you two take care of them. With my partner, we rescue old Golden Retrievers - 10 year-old and up - from shelters in Quebec where they wait to be adopted. Sadly, they stay there too long and because of their age, they are not the first choice for new dogs owners. They are anxious and stressed out when we get them home. We give them a quiet and peaceful life in the country and the best time of their life!

Todd, I like your thinking and the reasons for using bx wiring. If you remember, I'm a retired firefighter and I've seen the results of poor wiring. Tyler, I've had a year of therapy for anger issues and it was the best thing I've done for myself. Way to go! Now that the studs are up, and the wiring is roughed in, your place is really starting to come together. I've gotten a sense of the way everything is laid out and I love it. With every step done from now on , you'll be able to see the end of the road you've been on with this project. It is going to be awesome. I got a huge laugh when Todd pretended that he made a horrible mistake cutting your hair.

Question: Didn’t hear anyone mention a ceiling fan in the stair tower, in the winter all your heat will be at the ceiling of the tower and you’ll need to recirculate the air back to the floor.
I had something similarly in a house I rented and a reversible ceiling fan made all the difference, the lowest level always seemed cooler until the fan was installed. 14:06

If you actually had, you would have noted the electrician (s) in the video. Most electricians do not work weekends and few people can afford to hire and pay their weekend hourly rate! Therefore it's highly unlikely this video was filmed last weekend!!

You know what? I've seen this one a couple of times, and there's something you're actually missing in the container house. A DUMBWAITER! 😅😅😅 OMG! Do, when you grocery shop and need things in the upstairs kitchen, toss them in the dumbwaiter and up they go. Or vise versa. And not just the kitchen. 🎉❤ Our joints don't last forever. I'm almost on my 3rd replacement. You're still young, though. You can thank me later. Oh, and I'm sure they're fun to ride in. 😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅❤❤❤❤❤

It is so interesting and fun going on this house and property build with you. To have watched from when you first drove on to the property at the pandemic to now has been quite a journey. Can’t wait to see the final out come.

My Dynamic Duo, My Favorite Boys. I loved this weeks video. You not only showed behind the scenes in making decisions, but how you incorporate both of you into them. Your humor this week, spot on, I laughed so hard. Especially watching the two of you cut each others hair, which both looked good. Sending Love and Hugs to Tyler and Todd and their Lil Family 💙💙🐶🐶🐈‍⬛

Fantastic, guys. As a Gay couple for 44 years who built a large house for our 4 parents ourselves, this really brought back memories! I (Jack) did all the electrical work, so this was an especially great episode to me. We also have been cutting our own hair all these years ... but not having half as much fun at it as you guys. Keep up the great vlogs!
