Same. Was looking it up because I always loved the concept, and am researching for my own MONs series. Gonna find out about the others too. (Light, Rocket's, etc)
I know this video is 2 yrs old. But I enjoyed this very much. Also it reminds me of how finally someone made a fan game that included delta species, which is Pokémon: Insurgence. They took the delta species in a literal sense, and even changed certain Pokémon, like for example, the Delta Beldum line, which is a Rock/Grass type and even a Ground/Bug type too. Even starters all the way to 5th gen had their own Delta forms.
Why doesn’t this video have more views tf?? This was really interesting and I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for telling me something new about a franchise I thought I knew everything about!
I love how this can be seen as somehow tying in/ tapping into either regional variants or the new mechanic terastalization. Imo given what we know, and how the actual appearance doesn't rly change like variants, it's a similar, weaker effect to terastalisation- due to it being artificially induced.
Actually it seems like Delta variants were already naturally present in Holon in areas like the distand island chain. Also I think they didn't have money to invest in creating two hundred retyped new designs for pokémon to use for thr Holon cards
Delta Species cards have always been my favorite! The cards are much more beautiful in person than on a screen and to those hunting them down, make sure to find the ones with the set logo on them since they tend to be the rarest and also shinier!
I never forgot, delta pokemon were legit the coolest. When I was a kid I had that delta blastoise from the crystal guardian deck and I remember I thought it was unique or something. Also I think I saw that there's a fakemon game of the holon region being made if anyone is interested.
Ima say it lads: Ex Crystal Guardians is my favorite set of all time largely because of its bold and beautiful theming, both as an area and for its images, and the addition of delta pokemon made new takes on pokemon possible, even if it could often just be for effect, color scheme, or framing. Even if it didn't make sense perhaps for everything to be electric type or whatever (though you can argue it did kinda make sense because L O R E) it looked damn good. Also of note is that I don't have the clearest winner of a best tcg set in mind cuz I'm an undecisive fuck, but delta species is an incredibly close second to me
The video is 3 years old, but theres an archived japanese pokemon TCG website that explains why they were considered DELTA pokemon: "Alpha" is regular, normal pokemon "Beta" is Pokemon EX "Zeta" is Goldstar Pokemon Thus Delta was the next free niche
Hey, Excellent video! Thank you for talking about those cards, Holon Phantoms was my first ever booster! One remark, though: you forgot to talk about the Pokémon's weaknesses, that didn't change, but instead remained the same as the original, effectively making weird combinations like a Fire Gardevoir that wasn't weak to Water, but instead still weak to Psychic. Other than that, bravo!
I loved the delta species so much! I remember my steel type eevee, psychic type thyplosio and fire/steel type salamance being my favourites. Someone need to do a hack rom about this region.
I already know this is about Holon. I know the video's seven months old, but this just popped up in my recommended. Wasn't that long ago where I actually spent a fair amount of time researching every region.
I'm just watching this video because yesterday I bought a couple of Pokemon cards, one of which is a Horsea that is the wrong type; it's a Fighting type instead of Water.
I'd shit and I'd fart if we got a Return to Holon "block". I don't envy MtG these days but that's a page I wish PTCG would take note of from Wizard's playbook.
I’d love to revisit this idea and talk about that! This video came out quite a while before the mimikyu was announced so you could imagine my excitement ahaha
@@HaydenIRL right? Haha, I was looking back at these card sets after I beat pokemon Violet and I noticed the Mimikyu at the very bottom of the list. I think this region could make a pretty cool Legends game, like Legends Arceus.
I had no idea there was lore to the delta species mons. That's insane
Isn’t it?? One of my favorite parts of Pokémon!
Same. Was looking it up because I always loved the concept, and am researching for my own MONs series. Gonna find out about the others too. (Light, Rocket's, etc)
Delta pokemon was beta alolan and galarian forms change my mind
I think you’re on to something there! Maybe that’s why I like them so much
Omega true, I been saying it for years
Terastallisation: "guess I invented nothing"

That’s so nice! It’s arguably my favorite piece of Pokémon history so I’m glad to be able to share! :-))

I only remember about it because i have a card of a Totodile that is electric type and always thought it was cool
That is one of my favorite delta species cards!

I agree! I’m so excited we’re getting at least one more new one in the celebrations set!

As a kid I was in love with the delta species l, would love to see someone redesign them as regional variants one day

Nice yea I actually have quite a few delta species cards
YT actually recommended me a pokemon video with stuff I actually didn't know???? Amazing
There needs to be a game on this region, it might be my new favorite region since it’s so interesting
That’s what I’m sayin!
the fan game pokemon insurgence features the holon region in it's postgame, and contains delta pokemon throughout.
@@CopperFireFox an awesome game!
I’ve heard of the Hilton region from the cards, but never knew the significance of it all
I loved the delta species so much! I remember my steel type eevee, psychic type thyplosio and fire/steel type salamance being my favourites. Someone need to do a hack rom about this region.
I know the fangame Pokemon Insurgance has their own version of Delta Species if you wanted to try it out!
I didn't know about the region part, but I knew the cards, as I had the whole delta cyndaquil line at one point.
Looking back this seem to be the prototype to the terra phenomena in Scarlet and Violet game.
this channel is going to explode
The regional mons always felt like a maingame remake
I already know this is about Holon. I know the video's seven months old, but this just popped up in my recommended. Wasn't that long ago where I actually spent a fair amount of time researching every region.
Wow, I have a couple delta cards. I never knew there was actual lore behind them!
I'm just watching this video because yesterday I bought a couple of Pokemon cards, one of which is a Horsea that is the wrong type; it's a Fighting type instead of Water.
I love this video so much ex delta species has and I feel always will be my favorite set of all time

I’d love to revisit this idea and talk about that! This video came out quite a while before the mimikyu was announced so you could imagine my excitement ahaha

neat video
Did they find Mew though?
If you want to assume that the cards are based on Pokémon the researchers found, then based on their being a delta species mew says yes they did! :-)
They made no sense to me
can you remember me when you explode
I was the 100th viewer!!
Yooo that’s awesome! I’d give you a prize if I could! (Maybe a sub will work ;-) )
