my dad ripped this onto an old music player when i was a kid and gave it to me with a couple other of his favorite songs, even at 10 i knew how deep the lyrics were and they just grow on me more and more as time goes on
Could I paint you front out of my hold again? Forever she'll be my friend...if you could paint murray bingham.... #Rearranged #ItsTrueTho #SeeRobinHoodNow? Lulz. It was one of my exes. I lived next door to Bingham on Claude Parks Rd in Murrayville, GA in 2004. #ScrappyDoo His brush in hand like a bottle of Buchanan's 12 year. I met my husband on Sardis down the road from where the roundhouse used to be in Gainesville. It was my husband's brother who lived down the street from Robin Hood and next door to Bingham. He died last year in 2019 but I fulfilled a promise to my brother in law from 2005 and had a Georgia Bulldogs flower arrangement made in Raleigh, North Carolina by my cousin who's a florist and had it delivered to his funeral in Gainesville because he's the reason I loved football. If it hadn't been for him I would have never met my husband and there were a lot of happy memories I could never forget and I wanted him to know I didn't forget our talks or forget his friendship.
For me this song is for two service members that I wish I could give their lives back. They did paint clouds & twist trees and flipped flags I had painted and hung. Flags danced with no wind and I’m not crazy the Bible & constitution speak of angels in times of trouble and they are for real! I’m so amazed and I just really can’t believe how amazing God is and with God all things are possible from storms to cloud painting to twisting trees to burning smokeless fire like Moses & the burning bush. Nobody would ever deny God and they should run and cry out to Him because He is my rescuer.
Havent listened to this song in ages. The music ive grown and learned to play is the polar opposite of this style of music. But now almoat 40yrs old and listening to this brings tears to my eyes.
Love song this song .....no one sings it better ...It reminds me of my Granddaddy and Grandma that were from Birmingham, Alabama....they live there from the early 1930s and stay there till the late 1940s after WWII ....They were married over 70 years , 5 kids, and all us grandkids ,and great grandkids....I miss them everyday and will be happy to see them again one day....
This song brings me back memories of an ex girlfriend… haven’t heard from her since end of 2019… I lived in a small community called Jacksonberg just outside of west Middletown by Trenton… we had a nice run, but she just wanted to be free or just not with me, I would add the words of paint me a Jacksonberg and picture her there on the front porch, I really miss my red headed beauty… I just hope she’s doing well no matter who she’s with or where she’s at I’ll always have a hole in my heart that only she can fill.. I miss u Lisa
My son introduced this song to me as a "KJ"! He LOVED to sing it. Thought I'd stop to actually listen to the words. He had a heart for a genre of music! With tears flowing...wished he could Paint me a Birmingham with my son in the swing...! He earned his wings, unexpected to me but knowingly by God! Miss him terribly...Love you too, son! He was only 33!
I'm the opposite I lost my dad to Covid mixed with Pneumonia back last December and this was one of the songs he loved the most I listen to it and I can't help but cry

Still listening in 2022. I lived in Birmingham,Alabama and that is where I lost my Mom and when life was better. So this song will always have meaning to me

Probably the most heartfelt song I've ever heard honestly. Country music is the music of love n feeling and I be damned if this isn't filled with both.
Always thought this song is a diamond in the rough of modern country music, or any music, for that matter. Definitely one of the best songs every written. Thank you Mr. Lawrence, for your profoundly beautiful interpretation :) You paint a picture in the souls who love this song, with your arrangement. I don't think anyone else can sing this one quite like Lawrence, or with as much soul.
Reminds me of the only woman I've ever loved. I heard this again today after so many years, and she has captured my soul. She has painted me, and I've written of her soul. We were never anything, but this song I'd dedicate to her. Love the lyrics. ❤
I am a lifelong fan of Tracy and this song is my favorite! I've been listening to his hits on my Alexa for weeks now, but I keep repeating this song. I'm sure my neighbors are either sick of it or singing along. LOL Thanks for the great music, Tracy! Your music NEVER gets old!!!
This was my great grandmas favourite song. They played this in her memory video yesterday and instantly when I heard it I was brought to tears and I realized how truly beautiful this song is. A beautiful song for the memory of a beautiful woman. She was such a kind and sweet soul and she fought so very hard until it was her time to go. I will forever be grateful for the amazing family she and my great grandpa have built. I love her and miss her dearly. She was 87 years old and she fought for everything she ever had. Me and the rest of my family will forever miss her and the lessons she has taught me will be in my heart and her memory will live on forever. I am still young (I’m 13) but this song will always hold a special place in my heart. I miss you great grandma. I hope you’re free of pain. I love you. Say hi to my uncle Dave for me. ❤️RIP Joan Sudo ❤️ ~July 3rd 1934-July 11th 2021~ She will always be remembered and dearly dearly missed by every single person who knew her.

Hello Marilyn 👋 Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
It sure does. My memories from the era this song came out in seem long enough ago to be ages ago, but then again, not that long ago at the same time. That being said, I really miss the great music of that era. At the time it didn't seem so profound, but comparing it to today's music, it's 100% better. So many great bands consolidated in one era, both country, and rock also.
My dad and I used to listen to this song when I was younger. I now live in a different country from him and the rest of my family. I still know all the words by heart. I still like to listen to this song and some others when I miss my dad

Just heard this on the radio for the first time in years, I never really noticed how close this and the song "lucky man" by Montgomery Gentry are. The chorus is almost spot on as far as melody and tone. Imagine listening to both back to back, let the tears flow.

Former Mobilian, seeing the B-Ham sign meant we were about 2/3 of the way up through Alabama, then a quick trip through Tennessee, longish Kentucky drive... then the Ohio line. 🤗🤗 (Then another 6 hours to my parents home!!) 16 hrs, we were there. And then, driving home. 🤗🤗🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I miss my years in 'Bama.

Last time I heard this song was when my wife Annie was still living. She passed away on January 11, 2024. “Paint Me A Birmingham” resonates more than ever. I miss her. Will always love her.
I'm in Philippines and never heard this country music until I met my husband through Facebook last year. this is his favorite country music then I played this song again and again then became my favorite .... we are apart as of now... both of us always play on guitar this song through Skype...

Hello Rebecca 👋 Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
So excited!!! I finally get to go see Tracy Lawrence in concert tomorrow night in Grand Junction, CO. He has always been one of my favorite country singers.
This was my all time favorite song growing up as a little girl. My dad would sing it and I'd sing it with him over the years. We're big on music singing guitar playing writing. All of it. And this song is the sing that made me really wanna sing.
So this is one of those songs that was re-recorded to get around the record company stranglehold on royalties. Usually the "new" versions are a bit lower quality than the originals (and I'm looking at you, 80s new wave bands) but this is actually better. Tracy's voice isn't buried under needless over production. We need more of this.
"Son, just where in this picture would you like to be?" One of the most powerful lines in a song I've EVER heard! It gives me chills!
my dad ripped this onto an old music player when i was a kid and gave it to me with a couple other of his favorite songs, even at 10 i knew how deep the lyrics were and they just grow on me more and more as time goes on
That’s called “class”; with you all the way. Poignant.
Passing by Chattanooga, seeing I-24 Birmingham sign... Had to play this gem!
Same here.
It means so much to me, it makes me weep.
This was my dads song to my mom after she passed away with cancer June 21,2002 and he finally joined her On feb 3 2007. i miss them both.

Such a beautiful song! Thank you for it. Love how you change key towards end of song. If life could only be that simple.......
This is one of my wife's favorite Tracy Lawrence songs. We love his concerts and try to make them everytime he is in the SF Bay area.

This song was one that my wife and I used to listen to when we were 1st married. We have been married for 20 years now ,and still deeply in love.
Last time I heard this song was when my wife Annie was still living. She passed away on January 11, 2024. “Paint Me A Birmingham” resonates more than ever. I miss her. Will always love her.

Hi friends Elijah brittany
Hi friends Elijah brittany 😎😎😎
Can't wait to see him on the 25th of February !
This was my all time favorite song growing up as a little girl. My dad would sing it and I'd sing it with him over the years. We're big on music singing guitar playing writing. All of it. And this song is the sing that made me really wanna sing.
It makes me think of my dead step dad it is really sad😔
So this is one of those songs that was re-recorded to get around the record company stranglehold on royalties. Usually the "new" versions are a bit lower quality than the originals (and I'm looking at you, 80s new wave bands) but this is actually better. Tracy's voice isn't buried under needless over production. We need more of this.
