By Golly that things a little wonder! I once converted a lightly used version of this blower into a molten pile of scrap. Complete loss due to a fire. It rolled down a hill and landed upside down. Fuel ran out and up it went. The $12K diesel tractor that was pushing it was upside down too but was salvagable. If it would have just rolled one more time it would have landed in the lake and I feel the damage would have been a lot less. My brother likes this story because he told me the hill was too steep. I called him a wuss and proceded to prove him right!
Oh the stories we can tell! I decided tractor brakes were a necessity when driving a non-hydro down a hill heading towards a BMW parked right in the way! Missed it by inches!!!
My little wonder blower starts first pull. I can't complain about the Honda engine they are the best out there. The best thing anyone can do for these blowers is put a impeller off of a Billy goat blower which are much lighter and better balanced than the little wonder ones. I had to set my engine back about a 1/2 inch for the clearance.
Backfiring will cause the engine to rotate backwards and after enough times will start to shear the key. Thankfully the keyway was intact! Thanks for watching Joseph, hope you are well!
sweet! I had one that was a wreck, looked like trash and probably should have been. I restored it and sold it. Didn't get much for it though. Kinda a hard sell cuz they are soooo expensive. Only parking lot crews use them down here! Nice Fix!
Thanks Arch! They come in handy when you have an acre of wet leaves to get rid of! Plus with all that power they will blow leaves 50 feet into your woods! No raking or dragging on a tarp needed! Thanks for watching!
@@KensSmallEngineRepair do people mainly use those for leaves? I would think those are more useful for cleaning parking lots and that sort of thing. Obviously they can do both. But to have a monster like that and only use it from Oct 15 to Nov 15 seems like overkill.

I have never seen the removal threads on the inside of a shaft like this one . I noticed you did not use any anti seize on the shaft , I would have is that wrong ? Thanks for a great video .
I did use anti-seize. It was all over the inside of the fan. The stuff on the shaft and key got messy so I wiped a lot of it off but be assured there WAS anti-seize on there!
I think that the carb needs cleaning and the valves adjusted as it was backfiring slightly when trying to start it and backfiring Will momentarily spin the engine backward, shearing the key!
Nice job. As you know I am a Giant Vac guy, I never saw a Little Wonder fan. Nice. Is it camera tricks or was the left wheel shaking like it needs a new wheel bearing , or a worn axle…
Nice repair Kenny boy, we get a lot of Honda engines to work on here at EP but never have worked on one of these blowers Must be a good bearing or the customer did not run it long after they heard the noise cause the next failure would have been the bearing eh?

I agree, the plastic impellers are great, unless a sharp stone gets in there and tears it up! Thanks for watching!
Great job resolving the problem. I was surprised how much it moved with a worn key but I guess that is a big fan

I really enjoyed it!!!!!

No more ding ding ding there Brother, Amazing what a tight fighting keyway will do for ya. 👍
Thanks Brother! The parts list calls out a 2inch long key, this one was about 1-1/2 inches long! Now it’s about 2-1/2 inches long and is rock- solid!!
Pull rope vs 13 HP always gives a workout, especially as we get older.
Yes, not many if any electric start leaf blowers!

Nice work Ken, I wasn't thinking the key was worn was the issue making the sound . I was thinking the shroud was the ploblem

Good job kenny, I’m not surprised that key failed. I wonder if a tapered or reverse thread shaft would be more suitable?

Great job , often the impeller gets seized to the cranks and are impossible to remove .
Good job Kenny.
Thanks for watching Pete!!
Very informative video, especially since I have the same thing going on. Do you have a number we can ask questions?

That blower will need therapy after this lol 😂 kenny 🤣
Wait till I clean out the carb and adjust the valves! She’ll be starting on the first pull instead of the second!

Yup, I have a jar for washers too lol!!! Good thing as it was starting to eat into the spark plug boot!
