I respect strippers so much, they are incredible! But i know I couldn’t do it, because I’d be laughing the entire time the event went on if I had to strip to a live violin
I still find the Glasgow Wonka event funny just because of the Unknown 😭 Not to mention I researched the layout of the event to see how barren it was and found some backdrops hung around the event on Temu through reverse image search (unsurprisingly they're also AI generated)
for the crumbl event, the initially has everything set up like crumbl and didn’t have the “not affiliated with crumbl” on their bio until after some wise people started calling them out for it before the event. i remember seeing the whole thing before the event and seeing the small number of people talking about it and calling it suspicious before the event then started tagging crumbl owner and they panicked and changed their stuff
I work in event planning (mostly conventions/trade shows) and its high-key gratifying to watch people realize how much work goes into this! It's so much more than just showing up and putting in tables lol
Crumbl Sydney was insane bc those cookies aren't even good fresh. My condolences to the people who overpaid to get them stale, truly the worst of both worlds
I didn’t know anything about crumbl. I thought people were calling the whole company a scam, but this makes more sense. I have no interest in cookies unless they’re cheap or free. Happy New Year!
The Crumbl thing is an absolute scam! They are taking a product and reselling it days later under the guise of it being an “Authentic Crumbl Experience”. They should’ve been slapped with a cease and desist
Ok the Bridgerton event… non refundable should not be honored if the host CHANGES THE DATE!!! My wedding could be 2 weekends after the ball, but then you decide to reschedule to that day. How is that fair?!
the bridgerton thing was actually so sad to see and I feel for the people that spent hundreds of dollars. there were official Netflix approved balls all through 2022 and maybe beginning of 2023 and with a little research (tiktok or youtube experience vid) would show just a difference in experience especially price!! Official balls were like $50-100 and had clear expectations of what you were going to get that aligned with the price. “Uncle and Me LLC” was def trying to cash in on the hype all the official balls had in 2022 ish now that those have stopped happening. sad to see.
On Mexico we had also a scam event, the event was a meet and greet + tea party from a Japanese musician. The part of the artist was all ok but the event of the tea party were horrible, to the point we did not eat anything in a lapse of 7 hours inside the event and the tickets were so expensive that was impossible that the promoter did not had enough money to feed us
The Willy Wonka Experience being in February sent me spiraling. Where tf did this year go I do believe that we as a society moved on too fast from The Unknown. I’m glad the movie they were trying to make seems to have never eventuated, that would have been too much, but I didn’t even see ONE person dressed up as The Unknown for Halloween and that was deeply upsetting.
Waterbomb LA was also a scam in a way that had a lot of backlash this year because of the prices that was gonna be held in arena which typically in Korea and internationally it’s all GA like Coachella. I was gonna go but the moment they kept changing the prices I knew they were going to “postpone” it when really they just cancelled it
A lot of people had already bought plane tickets and hotels (including some of my friends) considering the tickets went on sale not even a month before the event. But yeah it seems a lot kpop festivals held in the US always end up as a scam lol
Naomi, honey, happy holidays!! Thank you for making great content this year, and I hope in 2025 you continue with your great insights on current topics!! I love having your videos pop up on my feed, because I know it's quality content!! May you and your loved ones be blessed
I was kinda hopeful you would talk about the Tea Party scam in Mexico city but I get it's not that relevant because visual kei is an underground genre and its in a spanish speaking country but yeah we were scammed for 450 dollars on the Super VIP tickets
can you explain what happened or let me know where i can research about this? i love visual kei and i would be interested in learning more about what happened. i’m sorry that you and others were scammed of your money.
@meowzinzin warning of long text because oh boy where do I begin. So this company named Ninshi announced a tea party with Mana and Közi from MM and Kaya as star guests. The VIP and Super VIP tickets sold out in literal seconds, the general tickets in a couple days. Ninshi is known for doing a bad job with kpop and j-music events but Mexico almost never gets visual kei artists so we risked it. From the get go things were weird, the staff looked lost and our "entrance tickets" were the PayPal proof of pay. They had said it was an "exclusive event" but there were more people than we originally thought. The first flag is that Super VIP and VIP were supposed to have first access to the venue and to buy merch but staff didn't respect that and they were letting in people with general tickets before VIPs. Second red flag: some of the merch, like T-shirts and tote bags said "Chile, September 8" so apparently it was merch that was left over of the Tea Party in Santiago, Chile. Also we could only buy it with cash (which is a telltale sign of avoiding taxes). The staff was adamant on no one using cellphones which was annoying since people had spent a lot of money on EGL and visual kei outfits but kinda understandable I guess. We finally get to see Mana, Közi sang some of his and MM songs on acoustic and Kaya gave a beautiful show, the problem again came with the meet and greet and photos that were rushed AF because of the sheer amount of people. There were MCs (staff from Ninshi) and not only were they awkward AF, later we discovered one of them to be a gr00mer. And of course, for it to be a Tea party there should be a standard of food, desserts and, heck, at least have tea. All they gave us was a cold sandwich, an apple, stale Walmart cookies and coffee. I guess you could say the only highlight was to get to see the artists, because the rest of the event and organization was a failure and definitely not worth that amount of money, it was really disappointing for some of us mainly because we had to travel long distances for something definitely not worth our money.
Hi Naomi🤗thank you for this very interesting and funny video! I guess sometimes sh*t happenz but to fall for the last one (Era´s convention scam) is beyond me!🤔 Everyone with a brain or a bit of common-sense would be able to see right through this from the getgo! I remember stumbling over Rebecca Fox´s crap site (we are from Switzerlan and had a three week vacation in the US at this time) as my daughters wanted to visit a Taylor Swift concert and i´m glad we were able got get three tickets for another show in Indianapolis for november 2nd and we had an amazing experience!☺ P.s: Sry for my bad english, i´m only fluent in french & german so i hope you can understand what i tried to say, greetings from Europe, Satis😘
Let's just say it was Wonky lol. It looks like the guy saw they were giving away the props from the movie and he came up with the idea of having a Willy wonka event lol
They say that they didn’t tell people that they were Crumbl (at least after the backlash when they put the disclaimer) but I firmly believe that they had to lie to customs because there’s no way customs would’ve allowed them to get that many cookies that were not their own product overseas unless they lied at some point
All of these just sound like people who thought they knew how to throw an event, then announced the event with little to no actual research into the needed logistics then got blinded by the popularity and cash and didn't bother to check how much the cost would be until it was way to late.
kinda unrelated but the old willy wonka/Charlie and the chocolate factory is fully a musical !! there are a bunch of songs almost every character has a song
I don't really consider a poorly run event as a scam per se, unless it can be proven that someone or company was able to treat the event as a cash grab. Just sounds more like a bunch of very irresponsible people in charge rather than some kind of grift.
the bridgerton event was so sad, I feel bad for all those people (especially the stripper) that showed up to a temu decorated venue 😭

I'm surprised those cookies got through customs because Australian customs is STRICT, especially when it comes to food from what I understand.
As an Australian, they have to declare that they are carrying food I’m pretty sure
