The one thing related to Chloe that was off page was relevant was Chloe getting Eevee. As much as I like Chloe Cerise, that’s how little she contributed before Eevee showed up.
This makes journeys seem amazing

Pokemon Manga (JN)is basically promotion for the anime itself, unlike other anime who is adaption of manga (they still doing this with HZ)
And the manga never finish the story of the anime, and not all the episode is adapted into the manga
Personal opinion: I feel Journeys has to be the biggest bummer series in Pokemon anime history. They ditch Ash's traditional team, made Goh's captures annoyingly unbelievable plus Chloe was done dirty. Man instead of giving Ash such a rush ending, they could have made him a side character or give him a proper send off or Do like a Mega evolution special or even better revisit the battle frontier to become a frontier brain or join Gary on his travels. Man Ash needs justice and am glad Zac that you are making your own version of the anime, which i am loving. Zac please also make a video on Ash's real age, reason: i watch AG and there he clearly says "those years were so good".
And the majority of people say Journeys is much better than past series, and that Goh is a great character, when really it's all just wasted and atrocious. Much like the delusions these types of fans kept trying to force onto others.

I read the manga, I did appreciate the better flow and loved the art style and how certain panels were done. It sucks it stopped after 4 volumes 🥲

I still wish they finished it if anything for the Masters 8 Tourney with that solid artwork.
Honestly, it feels like this manga is suffering through Journeys' flaws twofold while introducing new ones. Even if they had finished the story there would probably still be a lot of important details glossed over. I could see the Masters 8 skimming over the entire first round. Overall, the anime up to that point, while having it's flaws, still gave me more information and cohesion than the manga could.

I’d love to see him change up the adventures teams, as well as how he’d make the characters’(like Red, Platinum, Sun, Shield, etc) backstories and whatnot.

First it was misty because of how irrelevant her goal was compared to May and Dawn, then it was Iris because of how similar she was to OS misty and how her Pokémon were either rebellious or inexperienced making her seem like a hypocrite, then Mallow because she was the less relevant Alolan girl, and now Chloe because she barely functions as a character.

Honestly I think the anime is better than the manga. The anime may skip over some things like Ash recovering from fall down a rank, but at least they took more time to develop Ash’s Pokémon than the manga did.

Two, I was considering getting the journeys manga but after ur breakdown…yea I ain’t missing much
The manga can be quite dark at times people being eaten by victribell and getting cut in half
But that's probably just the adventures red manga
Not as dark as what all happened in Red Arc, but it still haunts me the cruelties the people of Vaniville Town had to suffer in XY arc.

I remember enjoying volume 1 when I read it a couple years ago, but i gotta say it's definitely disappointing to hear that the rest of the volumes are as mid as the anime. Great review brother! It was nice to see some other things the manga did differently.

That Ivysaur episode actually has one of my favorite jokes in Journeys, Team Rocket attack and call Ash "Twerp" and Goh looks so confused by that cause it's ancient lingo
At least this manga review gives us a hint of what to expect when you do the review of the Adventures series. ORAS chapter is almost done with one more volume
no way does the mid manga reference ash-greninja but the show didn’t 💀
The manga may have gone better if it was allowed far more liberty with the source material. Where it could adapt some things but also create something new entirely out of it, allowing it to make a complete story within four volumes. It can be done, as the RBG arc of Pokemon Adventures was three volumes and the Yellow arc was four volumes.

From what I can see, the manga did XY & Z more respect than the anime did. Ash-Greninja wasn't retconned out of existence!

If anything I was thinking of picking up the 4th volume. Was good to hear what's covered though even if it has its up and down! Was a great surprise to see in the subscription box!

If we’re writing the manga, I would go the Dragon Ball Super manga route and make it a separate continuity. The DBS manga and anime have the same plots but the way they play out is different. I would apply that to the Journeys manga. I would have Ash catch different Pokémon, have more characters return, have Ash battle Galar’s gym leaders, and use an ultimate team comprised of past and new pokemon
I stopped reading this after volume 2. I loved the artwork, but didn't like how they skipped so much content. Especially as most of the missed content was stuff I not only wanted to see, I wanted to see just how they planned to adapted it.
I don't know why they can't give us a manga continuation at least.

I didn't realize there was a Journeys Manga adaptation, _but_ i would say Pokemon Adventures is _peak_ and nothing this damn franchise makes can ever compare to it

Yeah, the Journeys manga is kinda strange in its pacing. The art is really good, but it basically only covers highlights. It also solidifies that most fans care more about making the Darkest Day good than the official adaptations do
For every good change the manga made there were 7 bad ones, I seriously hope the Horizons manga isn't this bad
This manga is just the same as anime version: 1 step forward, 3 steps back. Some changes are better than original, but damn it's insulting for catching entire team offscreen.

Damn, idk a manga volume can be more inconsistent than its anime counterpart 🤔. I know Journeys is inconsistent and mid altogether but damn, its manga counterpart is even more inconsistent and rushed then it needs to be. It also shows us we need to read the REAL pokemon manga too 🤣.
Yeah, can't say I'm too surprised the Journeys manga isn't too great considering it jumps about all over the place with a ton of stuff happening off screen and a bunch of episodes skipped over (not that half the series was great anyway). That and it just ends so abruptly to the point it's kinda not really worth checking out.
Also I find the overuse of the over the top faces to be too much as well, it's like it can't go a single page without Ash and Goh reacting to something in a really zany fashion.
Pokemon Journeys was horrible honestly. The whole thing about being the top trainers in the world is horrible in continuity as people like Nemona freaking exist. You can’t argue saying Nemona wasn’t invented yet when Pokémon games are made way before production before they can finally release them.
Pokemon Journeys never even mentioned Mustard, the freaking former champion of Galar for years and realistically the number 01 trainer in the world before Leon took his spot in canon.
Also canonically makes no sense Ash never visited Paldea at least once as freaking weird ass Pokémon exist there.
And that's why Pokemon Horizons should be a reboot of the series 😏

The Pocket Monster Special manga is supposed to be close to what Satoshi Tajiri wanted to show and tell in Pokémon. SV is rather the lowest point in the series for scrapping both the fun ideas and cute designs.
Mr merphisc does it better by having all of ash old pokemon the time to shine once more and evolving some of them

Tbh i couldn't care less about the manga. I don't follow it. The games and the anime are what mostly come to mind when it comes to pokemon so the manga is pretty much irrelevant to me. This manga didn't exactly help with my opinion on it, especially with skipping some bits the anime actually bothered to show

Hey Zach I know a much better version of Pokémon Journeys and it comes from two Poketuber known as Zanolith would you already knew on His Pokémon rewrite ever since His on black and white and so you may not be familiar with His name is Electro Pikachu He also did His rewrite on Journeys as well cause they are not completed, especially since Zanolith just started His rewrite on the series but I do recommend you go check out Electro Pikachu His Contin is really good and His version of Pokémon Journeys is way better by your sword and shield series is still amazing

For all The Manga, The First 7 are ALL EQUALLY GREAT!, but Gen 8, though, the mainline Manga is great, but The Journeys One, all I have to say is that BOTH THE JOURNEYS ERA ANIME & MANGA, EVEN WITH WHAT LITTLE GOOD THEY BOTH HAVE, ARE BOTH EQUALLY BULLSHIT!
I love the art style of this manga but I could get behind how much of the anime was skipped.
