As a film enthusiast, I can only thank you for the effort made and the great gift that these almost nine hours of pure joy represent. Thank you very very much.
This is a real movie that has mystery, horror, classic, fun, aventures, animation, CGI animation, dance and modern. This long movie already has 100 ⭐stars that has the same beginning, a more incredible nostalgia in 1874 and 2023, and thank you very much with this movie.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is astonishing. I understand the short-cuts and compromises you had to make, but the visual quality is superb and your effort to include films by women, African-American, and international pioneers is highly commendable. Now please go outside and get some fresh air -- and thank you for keeping me indoors for nine hours.
That intro in the beginning made me smile so hard. Seeing all of those classic movies that I love, especially Spirited Away, which I was looking forward to seeing make an appearance made me so happy. And that was before I even realised the video’s full runtime! Thank you so much Alex for this video as a cinephile. 👍❤️
The opening is beautiful. Good job, man its a great homage to all of cinema highest moments. Also love that you don't leave out animation at all this video some people consider it a whole different category. A lot of people also like to downplay the impact animation has had throughout cinemas history which is sad cause animation has influenced so much of pop culture and has innovated new forms of technology within art, so Im glad that you included some of the most influential and innovative cartoons and animations throughout cinemas history here.
I noticed you included a few of the important Australian silent films. The Aussies were making feature length movies a decade before the US and the “Sentiment Bloke” is one of the best silents ever made.
Any topic about cinema is interesting to me. Cinema is the essence and passion of human life about cultures, history, love, wishes, happiness, dreams, human pains and fears. Every genre of cinema is a symbol of our life.
Thank you, so amazing and beautifully done. A true work of art, so many forgotten masterpieces. Finally something that covers cinema world wide and not only Hollywood.
Great video! I can tell that you started being interested in movies in the 00s, because that's when many movies that can be considered bad are included. Nostalgia makes us biased.😁
I missed: 'The Farmer's Daughter' (1947), 'The Fountainhead' (1949), 'Spirit:Stallion of the Cimarron' (2002), The Book Thief (2013) and Bingo: King of The Mornings (2017).
I've started watching your video and I'm loving it so far. But I found disappointing that the clips of the films had no sound when I reached the 30s. I think it would have been better if they had their original audios.
I think we now know the true first animated film of all time was either “La singe musicien” or “Passage de Venus” (also the first ever film in general) from the 1870s.
I am really speechless looking at what you have created Alex. Really amazing, I just would have enjoyed it even more with the dialgues in it. May I ASK why you decided on the music instead of the original ?
The main reason is the length of the clips, which would have had to be much longer if they included the original audio, and obviously the copyright. Thanks for enjoying the video. :)
hey, thanks for adding Alex Proyas's The CROW. Many people who do history videos about movie always forget to add this dark and gothic movie gem on to their lists.
Took a few weeks but watched the entire 9 hours. Ended up with a big list to search through the streaming services. What a labor of love! Thank you!
Streaming services my ass

I love seeing all those films from the 40s that I've heard of and read about, but never saw. This was a great reminder that I need to see them.

@@alexday_99 The images are under copyright too, but I'd think showing snippets as part of a presentation could fall under Fair Use.
@@StefenTower Try to tell RUclips that. It's clearly transformative and Fair Use, but their automated systems make it onerous to fight.
I was introduced to the world of movies at the age of 6 and I watched 70% of the movies on video.
