@@emmafindlay3819 Fjordhawk isn't hard just a little tedious if you don't have any dinos yet, Andrewsarchus isn't too bad, and desmodus is really easy you just have to tame a low level one first and use it to get the rest of the blood you need for a higher level
I can only suspect it a bug, but the Desmodus will always have around 50% taming effectiveness, unless you use a tedious and very fragile strat where you use a small dino pumped into health to tank the wild Desmodus pick ups, drain blood packs inside that dino's inventory, to then slowly re-fill taming effectiveness right before finishing the taming bar yourself.
I believe it is designed that way, BUT I think the rate that the effectiveness increases when using a small dino is WAY too slow...doesn't seem right to me.

I basically let out like 10 Moschops and sit on a Stego for about half an hour while the Desmodus picks the Moschop for around 1-2.5% efficiency per pickup.. I'd be happy if it had to pick the Moschops up like, 5-10 times maybe, but currently it's painstakingly slow. Especially considering they frequently bug out, drop efficiency etc. They're my favourite creature in ARK, but farming good stats for them is horiffic.
If you hold E when looking at a desmodus you can activate at night vision that when you ride it the screen turns red and acts as sort of heat/night vision
I strongly believe that taming 4-6 dodos, blood packs, and sleeping bags are the best method. Every time you die you call a dodo over and distract the Desmodus as you collect your things from the bag. If you don't die obviously you'd keep throwing it dodos regardless to keep taming efficiency up.
I’m on console and I’m having difficulty getting one of these. I can’t put my blood packs into my hot bar and I can’t feed them to the bats how do I fix this?
Tried taming one at i think the artifact of the cunning cave the one on the lava island and a bat picked my and dropped me In the lava ugh lol but at least i had fjordhawk on me
Easiest place to get one is on the island with the swamp. There is a solo desmo that flies around. If it’s low level, kill it and wait for the next to spawn.
I don't know the exact coords, but this village/ruins is found on the Eastern part of the map. Look for grassy/mountainous region where Andrewsarchus spawn.
If you can't find a lone Desmo, best thing to do is kill all the low level ones with a Steg (you can't be grabbed off it) then just dismount and proceed as normal once only the one you want to tame remains
NO NO DO MORE RESEARCH technically yes this is how you tame it but if you want a perfect tame nobody seems to know how to get 100% yet and I’m tired of watch dozens of vids about taming these things saying you just need blood packs and it easy when in reality I believe rn it’s exactly like bloodstalkers where you need to let it eat moschops phiomia anything it can pick up and suck blood from and kill it if it is like blood stalkers you need to feed it about 4-6 tamed creatures I don’t think I needs anything special just the kills to get 100% effective then let it grab you and blood packs to finish the tame
put blood packs in a small tame that they can carry like a moschops and let it pick it up and drop it till it gets to 100 percent effectiveness then let it pick u up while you have blood packs in ur inventory
@@ashark1092 on crossplay this isn't working right I think. The first time it picks up a dino it gets a few % up to 57.somethinh but after that it only gets .1% per tick or at best .3 per pickup. Anybody solved this? I've tried with blood packs and without on tame. Iv tried it with bat trapped and not. Tried it with different dino each pick up like noglins and brontos....nothing works to get more than .1% at a time

Also if you hold R, or E in caves, or nighttime you should be able to activate Night vision mode which is essentionally snow owl vision with red tint.

Draining hp (or blood packs) from a tamed creature is how you raise taming efficiency, just like a bloodstalker

How do you get wild dinos over lvl 150?
Some dinos in caves are over 150 (even on regular settings), but they usually cannot be tamed
and tek dinos can be higher than 150
I posted a clip of the speed bug that still works and need it brought to everyone's attention

Just blood I think, but thankfully it's a pretty quick tame, even on 1x

You can if you got the patch for engrams (might not be out on console yet). Otherwise, you can also learn most engrams by going to Lost Island.

If you have the DLC, I recommend transferring your character to Lost Island to learn engrams, then transferring back.

You can try bringing some type of high dmg weapon to get rid of low levels, but you might just agro multiple at once
