RIP Random Peasant #1. Honestly it's runs like that which let you break into everything else. That first run that goes really far gets you so many points that it's all worth it.
F
F indeed
Alternate title: Random Peasant #1 vs Randon Number.
ruffin is the real main character of this game
That prestige at -336 is wild
yeah people say, you could get Ruffin with some kind of super crossbow. But crossbow skill is hard to get. The first time I got Ruffin with a low level character, like 10 melee skill difference was using a sword with counterstrike. Liquid death and counter strike. Sword is fairly useless for early fights, but in the later stages with high level characters and facing off armored enemies. Counterstrike and weak spot is really useful. I like having an axe, destroy shields, and then pull the sword with poison for counterstrike and and weak spot.
Sounds like a good strat! I've (since this fight) had success with even just an axe and a meaty shield (since Ruffin has no helmet you don't need the armor bypass).
Ruffin is a wildcard for sure. I still die to him sometimes with maxed stats and good items.
Hindsight, and having bested him since, I feel like I deserved to lose this one. Wasn't ready.
The legend is no more...
Ironic that Random Peasant #1 dies via some XCOM level RNG luck, or rather unluck. Still, super entertaining run, Tortuga. Lots of points to spend now.
And see, trying to be heroic did him in.
I think we were toast either way. I have since defeated Ruffin (had an insane run to just off the charts -- more on that in the next series), and looking back on this one I did not have a good anti-Ruffin strategy, of which I believe there are several.
Sometimes the fun factor of the roleplay elements outweigh pure min/max'ing. Until your goal is to win the whole thing. :)
I, for one, who wasn't familiar with this title, appreciated the random start run. Captures more of the starting experience, but guided by a more experienced hand.
gambler's ruin.
Ruffin gives me Artorius wibes from Vinland Saga
The rng in this game... Hope you are not discouraged and we get more of this soon🎉
I like the RNG implementation. It's a bummer but not discouraging, especially because now we start a new char, and that's fun :)
RIP Random Peasant #1, but I am looking forward for a proper run. Hope you manage a high virtue one.
Yes, high virtue is how I like it.
Waiting for next episode mate keep it up
Check back Weds!
Make that Thursday!
It was actually SIX feints you failed in a row. ;-(
Don't know as I don't play the game, BUT, in the intermediate battle when you still had followers alive, if you had RECOVERED instead of SEARCHING, would THEY (and you, of course) recover? If so, would be the other major thing to keep your buddies alive.
EDIT: In fact, you were 100% VIRTUOUS! ;-)
I know it's only been 3 days but I'm itching to see you do more of this!! The only other real play through I've found of this is done by reformist and he has absolutely no clue what he's doing so having already watched you and learning most of the mechanics makes it really hard to watch him completely fumble around. I want to get the game so bad but we're in such a tight spot, being behind on bills that even $7.34 plus tax isn't possible for me right now
You don't have to wait much longer. The next series should go out on Weds.
I've been in those tight situations. It's rough in the moment, but it feels great when you get beyond it, and I feel like I learned a lot about conserving during my own phase. Good luck!
Make that Thursday!
GGs :(
I would like to see a Crossbowmen, if they are viable. Or maybe a Greataxe wielding monster ?
Ruffian is just too strong. And he hits everytime with poisen
Yeah what saved me against Ruffian when I fought him was plate armour.
Because he hit very often but almost all swore strikes did little to no damage thanks to the high armour
My strategy here and prep leading up to the fight weren't well suited for Ruffin. I have since learned a lot :)
Random Peasant #1 is dead, all hail Random Peasant #2.
That level change at the end 135 -> 225 tho.
And it's gone up since then :)
@@TortugaPower more random unknown peasants were put into the meat grinder...
Got to say, this is a game I have almost no interest in playing - neither the game mechanics, nor the stpry appeal to me at all. And yet, I've thoroughly enjoyed this series, and going to go start Season 2. So take this as a compliment to your skill as a RUclipsr. :)
Thanks a lot! I'm the same about other games myself, want to watch someone competent/knowledgeable.
why didn't you have any ale? Ale can "heal" you.
I did not have ale, only wine. So that's 10 hp different.
But, I don't think it would make any difference, we were dead from injuries, not HP.
@@TortugaPower sorry typo, I mean "why didn't you". I think you could have brought some from the store? But yeah, it probably won't make a difference.
