todah rabah . I was riding my bicycle early this morning and I was listening to this shiur. now I am watching it so I can now see the notes. It is so calmly the way you teach, great for my early morning rides. The sun is still shy behind the horizon, the stars are slowly fading away and I start with morning prayers and then I get on the bike and put on my headphones and listen to your classes. May your name be inscribed in the Book of Life.

      Celia,
I almost could see the rising Sun and waning stars with you. Thank you for sharing the visual. 🌏

Rabbi Nir...I want to ask a question that I am puzzled by.
If the jewish people only received the Torah at Sinai..
Then how come they were called the Jewish people in Egypt
    What made them Jewish??
I dont really understand the chronology???

It is not that infinite light does not know imperfection, since its nature is knowledge, therefore it means that it knows that which is not, and this knowledge is everything else that is not God created as that.

@@danielp4196 there are two aspects to infinite light (God), as to himself and as to creation. As to Himself knows himself as perfect. As to creation knows everything in between Himself and the opposite of Himself, this knowledge which is timeless is creation. Surely this does not mean that the opposite of Himself exists absolutely as nothingness or non being, because this knowledge comes from Being, therefore the most remote creation from God (evil, satan), must have a participation in Being, and why then this does not mean that God is evil and everything else as also what he is as to Himself? Because everything else is that which God is not, since God is absolute perfection, and God is knowing, then He knows this duality, the positive and the negative. Im fact, duality is not created but only the negative which by contrast to perfection, appears. Who he is and is not Him. Creation then is always unfolding who God is and is not to greater degrees ad infinitum, never reaching Him as absolute perfection. This is how I understand it, keeping God and everything else distinct and yet not absolutely separated. God holds everything in His being but no being except God is God.

@@MarcosBetancort ... beautifully explained....yet not perfect....which makes it beautiful...a mirroring in creation....a compensation of not having a beginning and an end....an in betweenness...where everything happens and nothing else ...a place of partaking...where understanding is no longer required ....just being there...is exactly that place where the light reveals imperfection ... perfection hiding in imperfection...it given to us to know....but not to understand...an illuminated masterpiece with God's light ...a Gift...a necessity....you've rich a certain level of avoiding the limits of language....poetry...thx a lot for your reply
