I'm not sure if you've experimented with creating custom style packs for minecolonies, but it could be cool to make a style similar to the base so you end up with a modern style colony.
I have tried it but it takes sooooo long to make a full pack, and videos already take me about 40hrs a week to do. so I just don't have time for it otherwise I would!

I can't stand baby mobs, I always make sure to disallow them in my worlds, between the speed and the small hit boxes the only place they fit is in nightmare fuel modpacks..
