  • I have acquired quite a few philodendrons over the years, and they occupy a decent percentage of my houseplant collection, so I figured I'd share all of them with you and go over their stories and my experiences (going by the order in which I got them).

what’s a philodendron in your collection that you can’t live without? 👀

I can't help but to notice, you look like "Dorothy" from "Wizard Of Oz". And you look like "Belle" from "Beauty And The Beast" too cute🌿

This video is in my favorites and I return to it time & again. I love the philo plant family. I prefer those darker leaves, but your lemon lime is gorgeous. I love when my plants get wonky like that. It looks super happy outside. I think I prefer crawlers rather than pole plants. That's probably my Hoya thing, LoL.

I've noticed that a lot of shops locally and online will sell the fuzzy petiole in a bushier pot than other up-right "heart shaped" philos and I think that might be doing that plant a disservice.. I've found that if a plant like that is one or two shoots then I'm *way* more likely to give it adequate support..once I separated and poled my fuzzy petiole it truly shined! Those rippley leaves get pretty massive and like you mentioned also have a tinge of color on the back that's cool too! I really do love it now😊❤

I’ve honestly noticed the same thing & I really would love to do that! I feel like growing it up a pole as a single vine (or two) would make it really nice. A project for someday…

I need a gigas. I just chopped up my entire campo. It was like 5 times longer than yours and had run out of pole ages ago and was giving me teeny tiny leaves. I'm gonna give it a proper pole (not a choir one).

I absolutely love my Philodendron Micans at the minute. I recently just bought a Verrucosum too! Hasn’t arrived yet since I bought it online. I’m so happy for us!❤️😆

Sentimentally, the philodendron 'Brasil' is my favorite. Grown from a 3"pot of cuttings, it's now a lush plant filling a homemade coco coir pole. I love the ease of care and it's flexibility for placement. My 'Summer Glory' and 'Birkin' are probably tied for second behind the hederaceum varieties. I've enjoyed them both more than I ever thought I would. I like their tight internodal spacing, thicker leaves, and self-heading growth habits. My enormous statement philodendron is my 'Rojo Congo', which has amazing color but oh so challenging when trying to site it inside during the off season. My problem child is definitely the 'Dark Lord'. I just chopped it a few days ago to try and revive my love for its form. The 'Splendid' remains my number one wishlist philodendron.

I hope that your Dark Lord cooperates some day! As the days go by, I'm definitely feeling more and more prompted to just cut it up and start afresh. I desperately want those massive, angular leaves someday--they're so cool when they grow properly!! Also, the Splendid is a good one for sure.

Isn’t it the whole point of putting it on a pole so that you can water the moss on the pole and let the air roots attached to it
