When Bert said, “I’m not good at roast jokes,” he could have stopped at “I’m not good” and saved us all some time.
Bert’s ego is so insufferable. We’ve all had friends where you realize after awhile they’re never listening to what anyone around them is saying, just waiting for their turn to talk again. And you stop being friends with those people because they are fucking annoying.

Tony is the perfect guy to call out Bert and Tom for their lack of effort. This narrative has been going for awhile now but their performance at the roast and Tony calling them out has made it undeniable.
I agree. Tony had a knack for seeing through bullshit but not being subject to it. He seems like the guy you don't want to talk to if you hide behind an image. Especially if that image is cultivated by the industry.

I eat up this comic/podcast drama but honestly most people are just miserable losers and all the “drama” only exists because whiney people exist NOT because a bunch of comedically minded people exist that know what a good or bad set looks like. I went to Bert’s set with the hivemind’s comments in the back of my head, but I didn’t let it control my ability to enjoy the experience. Do anything with an open mind and you can find positives to draw from it. Bert actually made me laugh quite a few times and it was way longer than a special which I didn’t expect. The one thing that didn’t change from screen to reality was his fratty obsession with alcohol which was a little disappointing but no surprise
