Welcome to my woodworking channel. I am passionate about taking the most wonderful woods mother nature created and turning them into beautiful objects of day to day use. This is not a DIY channel about teaching the woodworking craft, showing you new and nifty techniques about how to build wooden objects or anything alike. It’s about celebrating nature’s beauty and providing inspiration for projects of your own.

You are the master of the Shaper! However, though I have a small urban shop in California, I gave up on improvisations and got both a jointer and planer (all on wheels to move around easily). It really makes life easier. But it is great to know the Shaper can do the job, at least on small pieces, in a pinch.

Always appreciate your videos. Always keeps me thinking! Good idea for a piece that is too short to run through your planer...

I spy Gas Monkey Garage Baby! Thats quite the wine collection you have. Have a story about the wine?

Yeah, Gas Monkey Garage man :D Yes, that is my wine cellar. I am into fullbody heavy wines, the more alcohol the better. I have a lot of Amarone, Primitivo, Negroamaro, but also Spanish wines from the Prioriat. I use that room for recording mostly because it's the only room that has the space, is mine and is quite enough :D

For levelling I would measure vertically (using a calliper) from the top surface of the shaper workstation to the adjustable workpiece support. Maybe you have to use a straight piece of metal like a bridge between the two top surfaces.

You are right, it's worth a try! Thanks for raising this...

That is an interesting approach. The length of that piece of wood is too small to flatten on many jointers planers. This technique might be useful even if you do have a jointer planer.

Most welcome. Yeah, I completely missed that, but you are right, for pieces that lack the minimum size, that can also be a useful approach...
