- Another first video in our road to master series, we have the world warrior Blanka! MenaRD pulled him out against me at CEO in grand finals, and now, I pull him out against ranked warriors to try and get to Diamond.
The first video of each series will include a short guide/tutorial at the beginning. It won't be complete with optimal combos, but should be enough to get you and me started in ranked matches. Then, we'll see how we do in our placement matches and try to place as high as we can in ranked!
Street Fighter 6, the next game in the iconic series, will release in 2023! Take part in the Fighting Ground, which focuses on the classic fighting game experience with modes from previous games in the series. Two new modes will be available alongside: World Tour, an immersive single-player story experience, and Battle Hub, which will further expand the scope of player communication and engagement. I know getting everyone to master isn’t easy but the fact you also turn these into mini-tutorials too to help new players get a basic grasp of these characters is awesome!
CEO really made me look at blanka in a different light, MenaRD popped off like crazy

I guess one way to learn how to counter a character is to play the character and learn what gets you punished.
So Blanka's back mk is a little more consistent as an anti-air compared to hk, hk does more damage, can get big juggles and will hit slightly farther behind so its not a bad choice to use but back mk hits above Blanka sooner (frame 9 compared to frame 13) and doesn't extend his hurt box as much so you're less likely to trade or get beat out. You can also cancel into hop forward after anti-airing with back mk to be plus and in their face.

Great vid, Nephew. I am a long, long time Blanka main. I enjoyed your vid and still learned a few things. I don't know quite what some commenters mean by calling him "toxic", but think he is a great character and am glad that Capcom made him so good -- yet not cheap.

Does anyone know how to do the Blanka side step thru move that Nephew did at 20:03-20:06? I can't find and explanation on how to do that move anywhere? I also think that Jamie has a side step thru move also.
You have to press forward+three kicks. You can also do back+three kicks and blanka will hop backwards

What do the numbers shown after "placement match" mean? It went from 5/7 to 5/6.
There are 10 placement games, when he loses one he lowers the second number. 5/6 is 5 wins with one placement game remaining.
@JP-pt2rv Thank you. That's really confusing because 5/6 means "5 out of 6" but apparently he didn't use it to mean that.

Blanka was my main in IV and V because he was quick and crisp. In this game he feels too fluffy and counterintuitive. And it doesn't help that this is the worst he's looked in practically any Street Fighter game.
