Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in X and Y using only Steeltypes?
Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

Battle Girl Hedvig also ended one of FlygonHG's runs awhile back, I think it was a Dark only run, you don't usually get to see much of her because most of the time she can be avoided. It's smaller consistencies like this I love seeing in different runs, how one section or one trainer can become "a run ender" if you aren't careful.
Lol I reran X today and Hedvig wiped me 3 times without doing a nuzlocke. Throh is a tank and Hawlucha feels like a god damn Mega Rayquaza at that level.

I think you could've also caught a burmy too on route 3 (though gym 1 would've been the same). Wormadam trash cloak is surprisingly goated.
You could also get Steelix trading a luvdisc in Cycallage town
That was freaking close!! Didn't think you'd pull it off. Struggled most of the run, and effortless pulled through, WITH ONLY LUCARIO

This exact run was my first taste of the infamous snowball effect in nuzlockes. I lost a mon due to a careless mistake that could have made another fight far easier which led to me having to sack even more mons to survive those fights until I ran out of viable mons before the Elite 4.
Pokémon X and Y provide peak quality when it comes to challenges, in my opinion, especially with AntlerBoy's SMOOTH sense of humor!

Randomizer hardcore nuzlocke in UltraMoon using only Fairy types sounds like a great challenge to do, I'd love to see it

Doublade is one of my favorite middle stage pokemon. I prefer it even over Aegislash. Love to see it in challenges and playthroughs

Even with only giving himself 3 Pokémon for gyms and no stat boosting moves, this man managed to scrape by and beat all of Battle Girl Hedvig, Team Flare, and the Elite Four with only Steel Types.
This man is too good at Pokémon and too good to us.

Lets go! Making a nuzlocke haul. Got new vids stacked to watch
You can catch Burmy on route 3. Wormadam Trash Cloak, which you can get at lv 20, is steel type. It resists or is neutral to every type but Fire, can learn Psychic moves, Shadow Ball, Flash Canon, and has 95 in both defense and 69 in both atacks (NICE!). I think it would have helped you out against Hedvig and you might have had Ferrothorn by the end.
I like that because of the limited number of Pokémon and no status moves he couldn't cheese the run. Very cool would like to see more.
Aggron having Flamethrower is so dope.
You should do a pokémon red and blue play through with only pokémon that don’t evolve (snorlax, magmar etc)

I do have a tip for that fight at 6:11 for next time you come in a situation like this:
you know that throh has 2 moves you have to worry about: vital throw and bulldoze.
throh will favor vital throw since its STAB, first go to hoedge for immun.
throh will next use bulldoze, go to mawille for intimidate, lowering the attack.
throh will still go for bulldoze because super effective, go to ferroseed for neutral.
throh will now use vital throw because its super effective, go to honedge for immune.
do this loop one more time so throh is at -2. now keep swapping between honedge and ferroseed, this way you will drain his hp with iron barbs.
finally enter with lucario for 2 power-up punch (bulldoze into vital throw should never kills level 27 lucario with no hp or def EVs unless -def nature) and ussing that you can kill both throh and hawlucha without a loss.
is this perfect? absolutely not. you had 1 crit happen so it already fell apart but it would have helped a lot as its consistent.

Everybody always underestimates Super Luck Absol.
It learns a lot of high-crit moves and has a very respectable Attack stat. The only that holds it back is that it's a bit too slow for how frail it is.

You missed a pretty valuable encounter. If you catch a Luvdisc on Route 8 you can trade it for a Steelix with the Ace Trainer in the Cyllage City Pokémon Center
