One of the greatest martial arts films I have ever seen. Idgaf about big budget cinema. This and Invincible Armour are the sickest I have ever seen and possibly Born Invincible.
- This is my most favorite Kung Fu movie from now on. As a short-tempered single father of a three-year-old kid, with a dark past from my parents, this movie really helped me to calm myself every time a very inflaming situation is done by my son. One time, my son wasted an expensive bottle of shampoo while I was busy working at home. When I saw him, I kept slapping him on the arm. After calming down for a second, I saw that he got red marks on his chest due to the beating. I proclaimed myself a very very bad father. I asked myself, "Am I going to kill my own son just for things that he wasted?" I reflected. I cried. I apologized to him. I love my son so much. But my uncontrollable emotion could lead to a worst irrecoverable situation. A few hours after the event, I remembered this movie and suddenly said, "Buddha's name be praised." Then, I decided to buy two Buddha beads bracelets and wear them on each wrist to remind me that hurting my son, whether light or heavy, is not the way to discipline him. So, thank you very much for this movie. It is now gradually changing my way of life. "Buddha's name be praised." P.S. "Don't forget to breathe." - The Silent Monk, The Forbidden Kingdom

This movie progressively gets better and better through it from beginning to end. It's amazingly replete with a transforming plot, interestingly ever present humor and definitely great empty handed battle, mixed with weaponry.

One thing this film does better than any I've ever seen, is continuously introducing characters with increasing levels of skill. We start with our hero, who hasn't been beaten in years, only for us to learn that he is damn near the weakest fighter in the story. As new characters are introduced, they progressively are more and more badass. It really gives us, the viewers, this sense of these men being extremely powerful. Absolutely well done.
Yes. Like Dragon Ball Z did but this was much earlier. Maybe DBZ got the progression from a high point idea from this movie. Like we think the Saiyans are the best fighters but they keep finding someone better and finally the angel Wis teaches them ultra instinct and then we learn about gods and beyond.
First time I've ever seen this one (and I grew up watching Kung Fu Cinema). It's fantastic. Has lots of reverence for the spiritual side of the Martial Arts. One of my favorite phrases in a lot of these movies: "Buddha's name be praised". Even though these movies are usually dubbed into English, the mostly British actors who handle the voices (always one of my favorite things) took their parts seriously.

One of the best movies ever made. I've been tring to find this full movie for almost 25 + years, thank you !
"You fight like a street fighter, its to easy to trip you up" ! I love this movie!!!!!
What's funny is that he didn't even trip him lol
Jack of all trades but master of none too bad too bad...
"Owwww....why do you keep hitting me there?"
Monk: "Because I like to hit you there" 😂😂
This is my favourite kung fu ever!!! I rented this kung fu so much times in the 80s, I never thought I would be still watch this in 2021 thank you for uploading this I can watch this and remember the days when I use to try doing the budda finger still can't get that perfect hole done lol
I am happy with my classic
This movie progressively gets better and better through it from beginning to end. It's amazingly replete with a transforming plot, interestingly ever present humor and definitely great empty handed battle, mixed with weaponry.
_I've learned so many styles, forgive me_
Any recommendations on another as good or close to it?

There are quite many such cinematic great achievements.
I'll include few more soon for you to try. 🙂
Who else has committed this masterpiece's dialogue to memory?
The RZA
Seeing Alexander Lo becoming a shaolin fighter was phenomenal😏, though seeing Chang Shan becoming a Lama makes him kill innocence just like he did to that poor girl😯. Thanks Wu Tang Collection as I enjoyed watching this spectacular kung fu film (Buddha Bless You)👍🏿👌🏿👏🏿🛕📿☯️🫸🏿🤛🏿🙏🏿
Legendary movie 😍
That fight between the llama king and his former master the drunk shaolin monk was epic!!!

😂I agree 👍 😂
I still have this DVD. Still love it.
I have watched this movie countless times. The opening monologue gets me every time!
Great Kung Fu Movie. Good Picture and Sound Quality.Thank you for Sharing it WTC. Keep them coming. T.M.

It was called Kung Fu Theater on the west coast.

@@1delta_10tangos Here in Indiana it was Black Belt Theater on Saturday afternoons.
In Chicago, it was Samurai Sunday.
This was great !

Definitely a top 10 flick!!! I know the opening monolog by heart. "Thank you for the chickeeeen!" Great post
This sure is one of my favourite for Shaolin Vs movie. (My most favourite is the Vs ninja one). A big fight against Lama is definitely great for the one that Lama invade Shaolin temple and for sure the end fight, thumb up for Wu Tang Collection for posting this one ^o^.
"you sob stop yelling" - priceless I love this stuff , intricate plot, oscar winning acting, beautiful cinematography, competent yet over the top fighting, Im watchin this till the cows come home
I remember the Academy Cinema in Brixton -south London, back in the late 70's & 80's, the showings were called "late night" triple bill sessions. Everyone thought they were Bruce Lee when the movies were over. Great times to be young. Maximum amount of respect to the uploader.

Wow! Some great choreography! Sort of a plot, and lots of spittle~ What a crazy fun flick!
Thank you so much for posting this wee classic, at first I thought it was older than '83, the dubbing, cheesy as it was, was pretty good all considered, it actually followed the story line.
