Not sold on the turbo, I’ve had vehicles with turbos, and had problems with either the turbos or the engines.. heat is a killer, and trying to carry any weight or a trailer up long grades or across hot states, from so cal, thru Arizona, new mex, Texas….good luck, and the higher pressures in the engine…I’m gonna have to see what long term durability looks like …Toyota has a reputation for 3-400,000 miles on these trucks, so we’ll have to wait n see

I agree with you as well. I mean trucks aren’t meant to be fast in terms of acceleration because they’re meant to gradually build their power in order to tow and carry heavy items. The mpg BS is all too ridiculous too. Trucks are tools not fun cars. You want to accelerate fast then get a sports car.

There’s one thing you got right. Toyota does know what they’re doing, because the know that a turbo 4-cylinder on a truck is going to break more often, so repair shops can also make more money😂

The old naturally aspirated v6 was was better. This engine is going to kill the tacoma.

Literally all you said was "just trust me bro" without even going into specifics about the engine.

I've got the 4 turbo... Can't say if it will go 300 thousand miles, but this mill is quick and I really appreciate the 8 speed trans, very well mated to the engine.. I'm in my late 60's, have driven a lot of vehicles... I was a little skeptical, but if this engine hangs in there, I'll be pleased..

The 4 cylinder turbo is basically trying to make up for the better V6. Honestly the more cylinders the better torque you will have on a truck. To have 4 cylinder turbo on a truck that needs to tow heavy loads it’s simply impractical. 😂. Give me a 8 cylinder gas sucking guzzler any day.

I've got the 4 on order. My 22' with the 6 is ok, but nothing special. The bigger change is ditching that terrible transmission paring and going to what - 8 speed? The 6 with the 6 speed was awful.

You will like it way better no gear shifting up and down not finding the right gear you have your full torque at 1700 rpms

What is the weight of the oil for this 4 cyl motor? The oil channels must be smaller, too many moving parts with a the turbo, more to go wrong. Give me any of the Toyota V-6's, they sound better, they breathe better, they don't have to work as hard. We will see how long the 4 cyl can go.

So you don’t own it? explain the transmission issues with new Tacomas…
I can also see you most likely represent a dealer… kinda shady video
What’s the sticker in the passenger window?

The V6 is better. End of story. The turbo puts harder pressures on the motor for the same output and wears the engine out faster than than a standard V6.
