I know I love it
For me, Pierce was the perfect choice for Sam. It was not about his singing ability, they cast him because he's a great actor. The heart of the story was NOT Sophie and Sky's wedding, it was Donna reuniting with the one true love of her life 20 years later. Their happy ending made me tear up...not Sophie and Sky.

I don't understand why some people criticize this film, especially Pierce Brosnan's singing. I love this film and all the songs so much! Everything's brilliantly done. I enjoy Peirce's singing voice too, he sings with emotion and he's an amazing actor. And I am very glad to see that many people in the comment section here feel the same way

I love how this movie is a musical where the cast can't really sing that well.. But that makes me appreciate their heartfelt acting even more. Some musical now are heavily autotuned and the singing sound so perfect AF but no feelings, no authenticity at all.. This one? This is what you call great acting, no hiding behind autotune and CGed scenes 😍😍

Pierce is an immensely talented actor. During his long career he has played many characters and Sam is very far from James Bond but demonstrates the ability of the great actor. As for singing, I love hearing Mr. Brosnan's voice. I live in Italy and I like to see all of his films in their original English language precisely because I love his voice. And I like the way he sings.
I just watched this movie and I'm in love! Pierce and Meryl's chemistry is amazing. All the other casts did a great job too! Such a wholesome movie.

0:32 THIS right here. To me, acting "in love" is the most difficult part of an actor's job. But just look right here - Meryl's face, the way Donna goes from defensive and composed, holding her ground, to nostalgic of what she had with Sam, like all the passion and memories have come back instantly. Meryl is a pro at portraying any feeling but I think my favorite part of her acting method is the way she expresses love - not platonic, romantic. Exquisite. Forever my "feel-good" film. And the chemistry with Pierce is amazing. I'm also a huge ABBA fan. All my favorite things combined!

I love ABBA, I love SOS, and I'll even state that SOS is the greatest pop song of all time. Kudos for Brosnan for giving it a go.
Brosnan isn't the best singer, but he isn't that bad, especially in this song. Honestly I didn't even realise he wasn't good at singing until I saw something about it a few weeks ago. I've watched this film several times since it was released and I honestly didn't even notice that there was anything wrong with his voice. I don't really fancy Meryl's singing either though. There's no doubt she can sing and she's amazing in this (in spite of some heavy overacting in certain scenes). Her voice just doesn't sound as good as Amanda's or Christine's. It sounds very shaky.

So this is when Pierce Brosnan was savaged by many critics. His singing was compared to "a water buffalo", "a donkey braying", "a wounded raccoon", bla bla bla.
For me, he was just great. He sings with emotion and character. That's what you get only from a great actor.
