She's the only real singer of the movie. They others manage with easier songs or singing in groups which masks vocal imperfections ( like singing in a 🚿 :).

Lol I was 3 when it came out but was 4 when I first watched it. I still remember most of it even though I haven’t seen it for 9 years (until yesterday❤️😂)
yes I thought of heaps during the movie. 1. Donnas mother was implied dead "someone up there has got it in for me, I bet its my mother" 2. Donnas mother was made to be a strict catholic "Donna you sound like your mother... its catholic guilt" ... "when I got pregnant my mother told me not to bother coming home". 3. The obvious one here that the timeline for her intimate session with each guy is wrong. Plus she said Bill rented a motor boat, in the second one he had his own big boat. Plus wasn't Donna living on the Island yet it sounds like the island was deserted and they had to sail over to it. 4. Rosie and Tanya meet Bill when their young yet when Donna tells them she actually isn't sure who the father it as there were two other guys they act completely surprised "you shady lady"... "why didn't you ever tell us?" 5. The whole point of the first movie was for Sophie to realise what she actually wanted and to leave the island to start her life with Skye and live her dreams yet only 4 years later her mum dies and she gives all that up to run the business she never wanted to run and then tells Skye she isn't leaving. I was like what happened to the Sophie who was gonna be an artist and live her own life? 6. Sophie said "and now he's announced he'd engaged and I'm never gonna see him again" but in the second movie he doesn't tell donna she finds out on her own and confronts him about before kicking him out. 7. Was that older lady meant to be Bills great aunt Sophia cause that was her name and yet Bill never mentioned her in the second movie. In the first movie he said "I use to have a great aunt living on the main land named Sophia" and yet this Sophia lived on the Island not on the mainland. And Donna took care of her but why would she need to take care of this woman -so much to the point this lady left her money- when it is shown she has a son. He works with her therefore would be perfectly able to care for her therefore why would she live and be cared for by Donna. It doesn't make sense. 8. If Donna was staying at the Island and it already had residence then how is it that Sam designed the whole place on the back of a napkin? 9. Harry used to be called head banger yet that wasn't mentioned nor was the fact that her bought her that guitar and wrote that song Super Troper with her. 9. Donna was only in her early 40s and yet she suddenly died with no explanation on how, because she looked fine in the first one and yet she died with 4 years of that. It was never mentioned how. Plus why did Sophie need to fix the place up, Donna married Sam and he was going to run the business with her therefore they would have fixed it up together and he'd continue running it after she died yet suddenly Sophies back in charge. 10. Some of the characters didn't fit. Rosie was made out to be a tough independent woman who liked the single life yet then she became a bit winey and wanted to be with Bill and Bill was described as funny and wild yet it seemed his main ambition was getting into bed with Donna; they just made him into a bit of a womanizer. 11. If Rosie and Bill had met why is it she didn't recognise him at the Hens party or when Donna mentioned his name. 12. When Bill tells Donna "I have a boat." She repeats surprised "You have a boat." Yet in the second movie Bill already had his own boot therefore why does it come as such a surprise to Donna? I could go on but there'd just too many. Changes in characters, things that contradict the facts in the first one and so many inconsistencies. I was so excited for the movie but was left disappointed and thinking "did the director even watch the first movie?"
I haven't seen the second movie yet, but the biggest inconsistency may be the looks of the guys. In the first movie, Donna had pictures of them and especially Sam is one hell of a hippie. And yet, in the second movie they look as stunning as guys in movies usually do. Where's the long hair and the flowers and the dark eyeliner?
Because they serve no purpose to the plot, never show up again after this song, and were only included in the movie because they were originally in the musical production the movie is based on lol
DJ Will maybe they show up in the background again as a cameo but I certainly remember that they no longer serve the plot in any way and are merely background characters. That doesnt classify them as relevant characters to me if they happen show up again.
The second movie is just a movie of inconsistencies. Harry was never on the island. He gave up when Donna left with Bill. Also, where did Sophie's friends go?
Abigail G same! Also Sam says in the first one to Sophie that he drew up the hotel on a napkin, yet in the second one young Donna spots the hotel and then runs into Sam when looking for help with the horse during the storm. A lot of inconsistencies that bugged me. Aside from the fact that none of the characters looked like how Donna remembers them when she sees them in the goat house!
Nichole Ashlyn Thought the same!! They looked so wild and full of flower power in that scene 😂 oh well, I was just a bit surprised at how much the young actors looked alike in the second one, Harry and Sam especially
It was still a very good movie for me 😊 But you’re right, and I was so looking forward to Harry and Donna writing Super Trouper together, or at least her singing it to Sam hahah, but the Dancing Queen scene made up for everything!
don't mind me same. I mean it shouldn’t be too difficult to check if the chronology of the meetings in the second movie matches with the one from the first one😅
What do you mean? It was exactly like the timeline in the 2nd movie. The diary said said HARRY showed up out of the blue which suggests they met before (In paris like in the movie). They just didnt show that part but the diary is on point, fell in love with Sam, Bill came with his boat then Harry shows up unexpectedly after following her to the island (which was also shown on the 2nd movie)
K1mch11 Except in the 2nd movie Donna Slept with Harry first and we don’t see him again after that. She goes to catch the fairy to the island after sleeping with Harry, meets Bill on his boat who takes her to the Island, leaves her for 3 weeks. She falls in love with Sam during those weeks they sleep together. Sam leaves, Bill comes back and than Sam comes back, finds out she’s with another man (Bill). She sleeps with Bill last in the movie. The last we see of Harry was at the dock trying to follow Donna to the island but he never made it since he missed the fairy. I just saw the movie last night. I love Amanda in this. Her voice is beautiful, and she acts all her character's ups and downs so well. I also enjoy her two friends. That's one of my favorite things about this movie, how everyone cares about each other.
People say that the second movie is inconsistent but it’s really not if you think about it. She met Harry, Bill, and Sam. She could’ve just not wrote about the first time she met Harry and Bill the first time. When she met Harry, he practically guilted her into you know dot dot dot so she might have not wanted to include that in her diary because it seemed insignificant and not important aspect of her life and left the next morning. You know how Harry was trying to follow her in the second movie? Well maybe he did. But I’ll get in that later. Next she met bill but she didn’t dot dot dot with him at first so she didn’t find it important to write about him in the diary at first. Then she met Sam. Since she had such a great time with him she HAD to write in her diary about him. Ok then Bill comes back so she writes about him. She didn’t dot dot dot with him till he came back so she wrote about him then. Not when they just spent one afternoon together. Like how it was with Harry it seemed like an insignificant detail that wasn’t really worth mentioning. But then when they both came back it seemed more interesting perhaps. Then you know how it says Harry comes back. She says he came out of the blue. Maybe he tracked her down and found her. So she showed him the little island. Then he broke her heart.

I never thought I was going to fall in love with this movie and the sequel as well. I learned all the songs and became an ABBA fan really quickly.

Amanda seyfried manages to make this song have a very nice mix of sweetness and sensuality, she is a spectacular actress and singer! I love this version of "honey, honey" from the movie Mama Mia, it's more incredible than the original (the band Abba forgive me... lol)!!!
God, after I saw this movie, I fell head over heels in love with Amanda. I was a fan of hers before but after I heard her sing, I was blown away!!! I kind of nicknamed her a ‘Songbird’ because her voice makes me think of birds singing and I love her voice. She’s so beautiful!!!!!!!. 🥰🥰🥰
I have been watching this movie since I was 4 years old when it first came out, so this movie is my childhood! Sophie has always been my favorite character, and I’ve wanted to look like her since I was little
Amanda Seyfried nailed this to a "T", a perfect summer romance song on a beautiful Greek Island. However, I would fiercely compare it to a compilation of songs with the film Grease with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. When I was in my early teens when Grease came out, my hormones were doing ten to the dozen! Listening to all these songs fetches back so many memories. But you know what, I love them all.
I can never get over the fact that Amanda Seyfried plays this wonderful/delightful woman, and then played a girl as dumb as a rock in Mean Girls lol. There's a 30% chance that I'm already obsessed with that woman. lol
I saw the musical for the first time last night on the cruise ship me, my bf and friends were on and really enjoyed it. Have to watch this movie when we get back home.
Everyone here is comparing the inconsistencies between the movies. Can we just appreciate how absolutely amazing both movies and that we got a second movie at all? I couldn't care less about who Donna met first because both movies got me so involved in the story!

I
You made my day, thanks!

More than 10 years and this movie still holds up
*AMANDA SEYFRIED IS SO GORGEOUS*
The first time I watched this movie, my mom told me: "My friend told me it is a great movie, we should go to the movies and watch it together" And I was like... ok, sounds like a good idea. I never thought I was going to fall in love with this movie and the sequel as well. I learned all the songs and became an ABBA fan really quickly.
The video is so beautiful, it brings back memories of my late wife, who passed away during childbirth. I cherish the beautiful memories we made together
I love Amanda Seyfried she is so talented and so is Meryl Streep.
0:39 Man, this sequence of the camera moving around Amanda's face is so hypnotic.
Fufugi😊
Can we just admire the fact that Donna wrote an entire song in her diary
amanda’s such an amazing actress oh my god
Singing: "When you do your... *THING* "
That just killed me.
Honey honey, how he thrills me, a-ha, honey honey
Honey honey, nearly kill me, a-ha, honey honey
I've heard about him before
I wanted to know some more
And now I know what they mean, he's a love machine
Oh, he makes me dizzy
Honey honey, let me feel it, a-ha, honey honey
Honey honey, don't conceal it, a-ha, honey honey
The way that you kiss good night
The way that you hold me tight
I feel like I wanna sing
When you do your thing
Honey honey, how you thrill me, a-ha, honey honey
Honey honey, nearly kill me, a-ha, honey honey
I'd heard about you before
I wanted to know some more
And now I'm about to see
What you mean to me
Trust me we all knew the words
I can't help but imagine when I meet my honey honey and
*DOT DOT DOT*
Holy crap Amanda as Sophie is the loveliness itself! Damn I need to watch this movie again
Amanda seyfried manages to make this song have a very nice mix of sweetness and sensuality, she is a spectacular actress and singer! I love this version of "honey, honey" from the movie Mama Mia, it's more incredible than the original (the band Abba forgive me... lol)!!!
I love Amanda so much. She’s really cute
we performed this song for our class theatre. It was one of the most memorable memories of my grade 9 days

So many emotions go in to this song. You know Sophie is having a time of her life!
This makes me wanna see the movie again♡︎
Amanda's voice is SO MUCH more suited for this than Les Mis. This actually sounds good.
I have been watching this movie since I was 4 years old when it first came out, so this movie is my childhood! Sophie has always been my favorite character, and I’ve wanted to look like her since I was little
a DNA test would've saved us all two hours
And all the musical numbers? No way

Same
So funny and entertaining.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I feel energised and happier after listening to these songs
She is pretty She is pretty voice
I love Amanda!!
Amazing Greek vibes 💙 Love this movie 💙
I can never get over the fact that Amanda Seyfried plays this wonderful/delightful woman, and then played a girl as dumb as a rock in Mean Girls lol.
There's a 30% chance that I'm already obsessed with that woman. lol
3:15 i like it the british accent
Mama Mia 2 does such a good job at explaining everything with Sam, Harry, and bill.
Damn I love this movie so much. It screams childhood vibes for me. The good childhood vibes
I LOVE MAMMA MAI🥰🥰🥰SO MUCH
The face Donna made when Sophie’s bridesmaids told her “oh we know” 😂
i love these songs
this song makes me so happy
Amanda seyfried very beautiful actress ever she was very great voice
I saw the musical for the first time last night on the cruise ship me, my bf and friends were on and really enjoyed it. Have to watch this movie when we get back home.
Amanda is SO Talented! Her version of this song is the BEST. No knock to Abba, but this is fantastic!
No matter how many times i've seen amanda, she's just so timeless shsgsjhs SHE'S EVERYTHING WHAHHSHW
July 17th, what a night !! ✨️
She is the most beautiful woman.
This movie is just a great time. I love it!
... THATS WHAT THEY DID IN THE OLDEN DAYS? CLASSIC
For real she would be the most perfect choice for a disney live action princess, she's got the whole packet
Everyone here is comparing the inconsistencies between the movies. Can we just appreciate how absolutely amazing both movies and that we got a second movie at all? I couldn't care less about who Donna met first because both movies got me so involved in the story!
It's like me and my friend reading fanfics 😂😂
OMG YES 😂❤️
Fun fact I live on the island 2:45 was filmed in
I don’t know why but I’m so obsessed with the “he’s a love maCHIIIIIIIIIIINNEEEE”
Amanda's so cute! Ohh they all are so cute! 💞 Love this movie!! 💕💕 OMGGG
