Oh 100%, there is "Furina" and there is "Focalors". Between this and the version trailer I'm convinced they're two separate beings, or at least personalities- the klutzy, blustering Furina contrasted with the elegant, refined puppetmaster Focalors. That's why Furina is so confident preparations are being made, but doesn't seem to have details when pressed- Focalors made the preparations, and intentionally hid them from Furina to maintain the illusion of incompetence. It's all leading up to something big, and I honestly can't wait to see a Celestial Nail dropped on the whole nation.
@@Kean__yd Half, I'd say - Focalors does exist 'separately' from Furina in a way, and does have distinct personality traits of her own, but the manner of her appearance is quite different. As for the nail, yeah, that was never gonna happen. Never in a thousand years is Mihoyo going to make an entire region unplayable.
She's surprisingly intuitive to play, in spite of the long descriptions. It mostly just boils down to her skill either doing dmg or providing heals. Use her charged attack to toggle. Ult buffs both when criteria is met (basically whenever you lose or restore HP).
Tbh, most skills are surpringly simple, it's just that MHY tends to write character skill description witth as much purple prose as possible with a thousand different names for all the effects.
The most important part of Furina's kit isn't even mentioned here. She has a dolphin jump. Furina, being who she is, doesn't even surface from below the water like a normal person if she's swimming rapidly, she jumps full power into the air and, provided you're near the shore, smashes face first at full speed into the nearest piece of land. Grace personified, this one!
I usually come to these videos to learn more about characters I don't yet own. This is the first time I'm watching this after already having the character in question, and having already tried out and/or being aware of all that Dain is mentioning. ^^
Fontaine got me back into Genshin, I thought Wriothesley’s play style was fun but then I did Furina’s trial. She had me dropping my jaw the entire time from fun animations and her Salon guests - hoping I pull her because she made Genshin fun again for me!
Dain's VA is amazing, I heard the beginning and thought it sounded like he was reading and turns out that was the intention bc he was... It's a simple thing but it's very nice

@@richcast66 That's true, and both also wield Hydro; but that's what makes it even more fascinating that one is defined by her belief that Fate is absolute and her life's purpose to decypher its ways, a mortal bent on teaching people to accept their fate and deal with it, while the other lives only to deceive Fate itself, an Archon trying to cheat the very rules that divine authority is believed to stand for, all for the good of the people. They are similar units in a game, but opposites in terms of storytelling; similar in how they present themselves, but opposites in their beliefs and drives, in soul.
Remember when people first though that the Hydro Archon was going to either be Seele or Druandal? I guess everyone moved on to expecting the Pyro Archon to being Himeko.
I can’t believe I made it this far omg. Fontaine is my favorite region, and Furina is my favorite archon. Can’t believe I actually got this far, and somehow saved 220 wishes for her (pulling for Lyney, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, getting them all being F2P). Y’all can picture my love for Fontaine 💙

There is something off about Furina. I doubt Hoyo simply forgot to do this but unlike the other archons, Furina doesn't have an aura in the character select screen. Also in her profile, she doesn't have a gnosis like the other archons or a vision like regular characters. Her hair also doesn't glow when using abilities. I gotta keep doing the archon quests to know what's going on

I pulled for Furina based on the Fischl Archon factor alone: her...unique personality. Her utility passive is crap, but the Jesus powers are great. I still don't understand her kit well, I don't know how to build fanfarre, seems she'll need at least C1 and maybe C2, her imaginary friends are kinda creepy, straight out of American McGee's "Alice: Madness Return", except the Singer of Many Water, but he's imobile. Overall, I'm very satisfied even though her audience vignette make the game looks silly. Most of all, I'm just glad I didn't lose yet another 50/50 to Mona, who alongside Keqing, are the only ones I get since I started playing in 2.8 Now its time to work for Navia, my last hope of geo salvation.
